#COP25 hypocrites line up for beef burgers while lecturing us on the climate dangers of meat

While Climate Heats Up, Environmental Advocates Line Up For Flame-Broiled Burgers

By James Taylor

Participants at the United Nations’ COP25 climate conference hypocritically formed long lines to buy Burger King flame-broiled hamburgers, all while the U.N. climate establishment lectures down to the rest of us about eating less meat.

Participants at the United Nations’ COP25 climate conference in Madrid in December hypocritically formed long lines to buy Burger King flame-broiled hamburgers, all while the U.N. climate establishment lectures down to the rest of us about eating less meat — and particularly beef — to stop climate change.

The U.N. publication “Livestock’s Long Shadow” claims,

“Livestock’s contribution to environmental problems is on a massive scale and its potential contribution to their solution is equally large. The impact is so significant that it needs to be addressed with urgency.” The publication further notes, “At virtually every step of the livestock production process substances contributing to climate change or air pollution are emitted into the atmosphere, or their sequestration in other reservoirs is hampered.”

http://www.fao.org/3/a-a0701e.pdf

The United Nations also asserts, “Cattle-rearing generates more global-warming greenhouse gases, as measured in (carbon dioxide) equivalent, than transportation.

In an August 2019 Nature article titled “Eat less meat: UN climate-change report calls for change to human diet,” Hans-Otto Portner, co-chair of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change working group on impacts, adaptation and vulnerability, said, “It would indeed be beneficial, for both climate and human health, if people in many rich countries consumed less meat, and if politics would create appropriate incentives to that effect.”

“It’s really exciting that the IPCC is getting such a strong message across,” Ruth Richardson, executive director at the Global Alliance for the Future of Food, told Nature. “We need a radical transformation, not incremental shifts, towards a global land-use and food system that serves our climate needs.”

It may be exciting to some people that the United Nations is presenting such a strong message. It may be less exciting that U.N. climate conference participants form long lines to buy flame-broiled burgers when they think nobody is watching.

Indeed, Burger King easily had longer lines than any other food provider at the COP25 food court each time I checked in to see how they were doing.

Oddly, the menu did NOT include the meat-free climate friendly “Impossible Whopper”. Photo by James Taylor. Click to enlarge photo.

The U.N. hamburger hypocrisy comes as climate activists call on the United Nations to impose a “peak meat” deadline, taking effect no later than 2030, after which global livestock production and dietary meat consumption must begin a perpetual decline.

If global warming is truly an existential threat, the most dangerous threat of our lifetime, and caused largely by meat (and especially beef) consumption, then why do U.N. climate conference participants line up in droves to purchase Burger King hamburgers at their climate conference?

The answer is, they are hypocrites. If they were actually serious about their claim that manmade climate change will lead to human extinction if we don’t aggressively act now, they would be eating less beef and doing more conference calls instead of using petroleum-fueled jet planes by the tens of thousands to get to Madrid.’

Gee what a surprise. The do as I say, not as I do crowd is at it again.
Keep showing the hypocrisy. Take inspiration from Ricky Gervais who murdered the Hollywood do-gooders at their own party. It was a bloodbath and rightly so.
Keep pointing the finger, keep ridiculing them. Science facts alone are not enough.

He certainly left Tom Banks mouth hanging agap on several occasions.
Tried one of those “Impossible Whoppers” once. Didn’t look anything like their ads depict. It looked and tasted like the average veggie burger…bleah…
How do they cook the Whopper? Beef burger on a rolling grate that pulls the patties under a flame broiler and cooks the patty in a matter of minutes.
How do they cook the “Impossible” veggie patty? Same way, on the same grill, right next to the beef patties.
Perhaps they thought the cooking splatter from the beef burger would add more than a spray of Animal fat flavor onto their veggie patties?
Guess what, it does…none of those veggie patties are truly completely vegetarian, they all have some amount of beef patty residue on them.

China has 1.428 billion people, and a GDP of $12.24 trillion. The United States has a population of 327 million, and a GDP of $19.39 trillion. That’s $52,297 per capita production by the US, and $8,571 per capita production by China. A factor of 6:1 in productivity comes only through advanced development. China is “emerging,” but is not there yet. And the current regime represents a gigantic step backward.

PeterT – We call China a ‘developing country’ because this is a WTO classification that gives preferential status to ‘developing ‘ countries. But get this – the WTO rules allow member countries to ‘self-declare’ their Developed / Developing’ status! It is then up to other countries to argue a case to the WTO that a particular declaration is incorrect. Obviously no one has sucessfully appealed!

God Himself would have approved of the world eating beef. When Peter, the Apostle, was in Joppa, God gave him a vision of all manner of animals being lowered in a sheet (three times). This vision from God was to show Peter, a Jew, that God had made all animals “clean” for eating. And it also signified that Gentiles were to be included to the salvation that Jesus provided for Jews thru His death and resurrection.

Peter’s Vision – Acts 10: 9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. 13 Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.” 14 “Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” 15 The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

Dialects and accents are like that. What comes across as impenetrable the first couple of times gets easier to understand with every conversation.

My wife and her sister are mimics when it comes to language accents. They immediately adapt and speak exactly as the locals talk. A trait I’ve envied several times as I may learn to understand people, my lingo is always that of an outsider with a coal cracker accent.

Are those onion rings in the picture? If you go to Madrid you should order some “Calamares a la romana”. They look like onion rings but they have squid instead of onion inside the ring. They have better taste and more protein. In some places you can also find them in a sandwich sub with lots of mayo inside, but I prefer them with no bread or mayo.

That way you can eat meat (is squid meat?) without anybody noticing.

Speaking from New Zealand where 99% of all beef is grass fed and a lot is reared on land far to steep to cultivate .
The attack on animal production started with the UN report “Livestock’s Long Shadow ” which looked at countries where cattle goats and sheep are herded and eat every thing that is edible ,stripping the country side bare .It then went on to look at industrial type farming where most animal fodder is grown elsewhere and fed in feed lots.
It then adds 2 and 2 together and gets six,for example it comes up with an amount of water that each kilo of beef requires to be produced and in New Zealands case all land would be under water if that was true .
By far the worst claim is that animal farming emits more green house gasses than the world transport sector.
This claim is a straight out lie as farmed animals eating forage grown locally do not emit one additional atom or molecule containing carbon .
All forage eaten by farmed animals has absorbed CO2 from the air and the minute amount of methane emitted during digestion is soon broken down in the upper atmosphere into CO2 and water vapour .
The process is a cycle and over any time span no additional Carbon as CO2 or CH4 is added to the atmosphere ,
We all breath out 5% CO2 so to make the same argument we are all emitters just by breathing .
Of course it is a cycle and is no different than the methane from farmed animals .
No one has countered this fact but come up with stupid arguments that methane is so much more potent than CO2 .
95 % of all transport fuels are extracted from below the earths surface where they have been locked up for millions of years and they are all additional emissions which must be a small part of increasing atmospheric CO2.
The concerted attack on farmed animals is misguided as milk and meat products contain many unique proteins that fruit and vegetables cannot provide.

Paul H if you live in the USA or many other countries a great deal of the burger patties contain New Zealand bull beef which is very lean and carries little fat.
Bull beef is imported into many countries to mix with fatty trimmings to make burger patties .
If you eat burgers from most of the burger outlets you could be eating New Zealand beef.
McDonald’s had a facility in South Auckland where they manufactured their burger patties for all of New Zealand and had a very good export market as far away as Singapore and Hong Kong.
So enjoy your next burger Paul and you now know that you are not adding to gloBULL warming.

Good comment.
There are approximately 95million cattle in USA, 25m in Australia and 10 m in New Zealand.
They provide two(2) things meat and dairy product.
In India there are approximately 300m cattle, use for four (4) things.
Meat
Dairy
Transportation and farm cultivation
Religious purposes.
The amount of emissions from non meat purpose cows in india is probably more than the emissions from Meat purpose cattle in USA,Australia, and New Zealand combined.
The ipcc should tell Indians they must get rid of their sacred cows.

I understand that in the U.S.A., before mass hunting, there was an estimate of about 6,000,000 American Bison (buffalo) living and producing “green house gasses” in addition to other herbivores. Add the other continents and how much CO2 and CH4 might have been produced before the industrial age began ? It’s fun to note that people are omnivores, not herbivores. Since these “climate” fanatics want to stop producing petroleum and natural (organic!) gas, will they refuse everything using plastic parts, like cars, airplanes, trains, computers, furniture, lamps, boats, windmills (“turbines”), ad nauseum? We must not forget fiberglass and carbon laminates using resins.

Just one 5 MegaWatt plastic composite blade weighs 17 tons. So every 3 blade 5 MW windmill at decomisioning requires landfill space for 51 tons. Plus it needs an incredible amount of resources to be able to dispose of it.

Apparently there is money to be made in green energy projects on both ends. It’s a win-win for some – except for the electricity customer.

And the ENTIRE media ignores the real purpose of the climate change fraud, ecofascist world government. It’s the kind of feudalism psychotics dream about – while the ‘fat American’ masses eat mealworms & maggots, huddled around dung fires, the ‘elite’ feast on every delicacy known to man, kept warm by the best 21st century technology. So the ‘conservative’ press pretends the scam is all about money from thin air, when that’s only the lure for supporters. Even resident expert James Delingpole is silent about AGW’s true purpose, since once the hard truth reaches critical mass the feudal motive of every ‘elite’ attacking the President is revealed and this diabolical deception fails. So they’re keeping their media flying monkeys silent and waiting out his terms and intend to crack down with a vengeance. So it’s imperative that the hard truth is trumpeted far & wide so they fail and prophecy never comes to pass.. I’m no bible thumper but here’s some ACTUAL science: carbon is 6 protons, 6 neutrons & 6 electrons; the human body is carbon-based and carbon cards, then chips are intended to replace cash should this monstrous fraud prevail.
