Bloomberg will appear alongside Hollywood icon Harrison Ford and United Nations officials at the COP25 talks, currently in their second week.
“Despite Trump backing out of the Paris Agreement, climate progress is happening in the US thanks to bold action from cities, states, & businesses,” he tweeted.
“Tomorrow, I’ll represent the US at #COP25 to deliver our America’s Pledge report showing how far we’ve come.”

I’m not a lawyer, but I guess Bloomberg is not in a position to say anything about what USA does officially, so he maybe can’t break the Logan Act by opinionating like this? Nancy Pelosi, on the other hand?
It’s just Bloomberg voicing his personal opinion. There’s nothing illegal about that. And we are happy about that. We like it when our political opponents are free to make fools of themselves.

INTENT. His intent IS to let the other governments know that they should hold onto & even keep pushing the charade until a more favorable US policy comes around. “Don’t give up Italy, hold fast we will jump into the quicksand along with you in another 2 to 8 years; everyone else … please hold the line and wait for our leadership & monetary incentives”.
If this had been candidate Trump, the Democrats and the press would have been talking about indicting him under the Logan Act within 24 hours of making such a statement. But Bloomberg is one of their own, so he gets a pass.
Hugs, Logan act applies to any citizen. In fact, being in a (authorized) position to say anything about what the USA official does is what’s need for it to not be a violation of the Logan act. from the Wikipedia article: “The Logan Act (1 Stat. 613, 18 U.S.C. § 953, enacted January 30, 1799) is a United States federal law that criminalizes negotiation by unauthorized American citizens with foreign governments having a dispute with the United States. Bloomberg is 1) not authorized and 2) attempting to undermine the current government (IE the Trump administration) position. He’s clearly in violation of the Logan act here. However, he won’t ever be prosecuted for it (Only two people have ever been indicted on charges of violating the Act, the last of which was over a century and a half ago).

Bloomberg has not been the brightest bulb in a very dim lot of bulbs recently.
Nor has Bloomberg ever found telling gross falsehoods to be an obstacle to his ambitions.
Well, he has no shot at ever being president. But if by some miracle he did become president, the articles of impeachment for violation of the Logan act could be submitted as soon as the day he is sworn in. Hey what’s good for the goose….

My nephew had a birthday yesterday. I was there 41 years ago the day he was born. I clearly remember it was a cold and snowy day. This morning according to the radio news it is eighteen degrees F at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport. The weather this morning is approximately the same as that day 41 years ago when my nephew was born. I know climate and weather are different. But after 41 years one might expect a climate change to have some effect on the daily weather. But I don’t see any change. The weather today is just the same as it was 41 years ago.
But of course Michael Bloomberg and Harrison Ford are very wise.
North of Chicago by 35 miles and it’s 13F as predicted by the National Weather Service. I would like to know where that alleged and apparently non-existent globull warming went. I have to get groceries today and I do not enjoy hunting and foraging in this kind of weather.

I think that if Bloomberg thinks that the Paris agreement is still on for the US it probably would be a good idea if he acted as guarantor for the money that has to be paid to the climate fund. And when Donald gets in in 2020 and the UN is looking to distribute funds to poor developing countries like China they can send the bill to Michael. I’m sure he will gleefully write a cheque. ( just don’t try to cash it in a hurry).

The “we are still in” ideology encompasses millions of people in the US, who may not even be aware of it, but certainly didn’t have a say in it. Virtue-signaling businesses have signed onto it, because they love the greenwashing, at virtually no expense to them. They are trying to do an end-run (what else is new) around Trump, and in a sense displacing him. It’s insidious, and yes, could be considered treasonous.
