Does he account for how he spends the money you give him? And more important, how much more do you suppose he thinks he needs to save the Planet from a problem that doesn’t exit.
Maybe he uses the cash to build his own (Dr.) Foley studio- to make climate change sound effects for the MSM.

When he was a student he switched from astronomy to climate science because, well you see, he was a humanitarian who put aside his passion to save the planet.
Yeah.
When I was in college I knew a graduate student in astronomy at Northwestern University. Apparently once you get past the undergraduate introductory courses astronomy is extremely difficult. This guy was doing some kind of research on the planet Jupiter that he tried to explain to me. All I really understood is that this is really hard stuff.
In contrast climatology always struck me as fluff science. I attended a few introductory lectures on climatology and there didn’t seem to be much they knew. It was interesting as far as it went, but not especially rigorous or difficult.
While I’m sure that wasn’t the case with the learned Dr. Foley, I wouldn’t be too surprised if quite a few aspiring astronomers couldn’t hack it and switched majors in college to get better grades and an easier major.
Climate science only knows one variable and all of its effects are bad.
And yet, astronomy is one of the few discipline’s where the amateur astronomer can make useful scientific observations. For example, the search for Near Earth Asteroids. Something the worries me more than climate change.

He probably switched from Astronomy to Climate Science because Astronomy is full of hard maths, and Climate Science isn’t.
Easy grant money, you can make stuff up, the answer is already known – what’s not to like about climate ‘science’?

Imagine some chemist working on some new catalyst, or a biologist in the amazon looking at some rare species, or a HEP scientist working thru particle accelerator data. Those scientists are never going to get media interest unless they discover something amazing.
Compare to climate science and it’s unhealthy alliance with media and just making news up out of nothing. You don’t have to be good at climate science to get attention just as long as you are saying the right stuff or even ridiculous over the top stuff.
So if you are utterly useless at science with a narcissistic personality which field would you pick 🙂

Ldb: Or the field picked him. He doesn’t hate all math, just statistics. And he learned that other fields require engaging a statistician, whereas in CliCsi, it’s more like divorcing and you only engage a statistician to call him (or her) names like denier.
Is someone keeping a note of all these guys names so that when the scam is exposed, we can all write to them to rub their noses in it?

I was on Twitter once, started in June 2015. I got off Twitter and deleted it all back in June 2016 when I saw so many bots retweeting my tweets. So many fake followers. I had around 250 followers, but a quick survey led me to believe at least half were fake, just retweeting stuff. I couldn’t be sure who was real, who was a bot. And there’s so much anonymous stuff there. Leads to Zero accountability.
Twitter is a disaster for an Open Free society because so many people on it do not realize they are being used and manipulated. Today, there are massive bot farms being used by Democratic Party operatives that Twitter is looking the other way on – ignoring, meanwhile shadow banning verified accounts of Conservatives and Republicans, even Congressmen and women. And if a Conservative or Republican tried to operate a bot farm server, Twitter would shut them down post haste. The bias from Twitter is unreal.
Add to that the anonymous cowards who attack just for the sake of attacking, presumably to pump up their egos.
Given his posts assuming he can learn anything may be a stretch. From his self given title and his posts we do know he is a narcissistic pratt who should seek help.

Getting any of those three things wrong can really mess you up. Overconfidence leads to failure, leads to misery.
You won’t get those things from a non-existent “god”. Find them in yourself.

Fascinating how money always seems to enter the ‘save the world’ equation. I’m sure all it’s needed for is so that Dr Foley can fly to all corners of the globe to save us from ourselves. The whole time not realising the irony of doing so.

Yes Wharfplank, but not just for Hollywood films. Foley (named after sound-effects artist Jack Foley) is the reproduction of everyday sound effects that are added to films, videos and other media in post-production to enhance audio quality. And the person whose job it is to add those sounds is called a foley artist.

Perceptions can change. I once thought CO2 was important to climate. Then I did my own research using on-line data.

I would suggest that a truly science-based solution is to realize that the study of climate is only in its infancy, and that mitigation of climate change is not possible, due to the fact that “carbon” has been disproved by observation to be the primary driver of global (or much more importantly regional) temperature.
The models have failed, Doc. It’s back to the drawing board for a realist in your field.
We haven’t yet seen a solution to the problem that doesn’t entail more taxes, destroying the economy or imposed socialism.
I do wonder if he’s as smart as he thinks he is.

“Project Drawdown” is a list of 100 low cost partial solutions to CO2 accumulation in the atmosphere.
Combined, they stop CO2 accumulation without the use of significant taxes, destroying the economy, or socialism.
It’s a fairly well known project, so the very thing you seem to want is what you are shooting down.
FYI: Foley is the leader of Project Drawdown.
Thanks Greg, I wish this had been part of the main article. Looking through his list, I think I’d have to support a good 40% of them just for what they are. But yea, I don’t believe we need to do them for CO2, but they’d be good as a solution or alternative in their own right.
A side note.
Even if something is “Public Domain” and can be used by the public free of charge, why not acknowledge the authors if you know them?

On the other hand, perhaps it’s Dr. Foley that needs saving. I have a variety of tracts and pamphlets that were dropped by my home. I’d be happy to pass them along. They are chock full of useful advice for being saved.
