Fellow Aussies, Please Sign this Petition to Leave the Paris Agreement

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

h/t ColA / JoNova – if you are a resident or citizen of Australia, please sign an official government petition for Australia to leave the Paris Climate Agreement.

Petition Reason

We the undersigned petitioners request the House reconsiders Australia’s commitment to the PARIS CLIMATE AGREEMENT that was ratified on 9 November 2016 and declared ‘entry into force’ on 9 December 2016. Australia is meeting its emission targets. We contribute approx. 1.5% of global emissions and many eminent scientists advise any changes this nation makes will have little or no effect on the overall global climate. America, the world’s 2nd largest greenhouse gas emitter, has given formal notice to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. China- the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases will SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE their emissions to 2030, and other developing nations have been given a ‘free pass’ under the same agreement. The estimated cost to our nation is $52 billion between 2018 and 2030. This will severely impact Australia economically and socially, with taxpayers funding ‘developing, but fast-growing economic-powerhouses’ such as China and India. The Paris Agreement is not operating as intended, and there is more risk than reward for Australia to remain. We must consider an AUSExit of Paris.
Petition Request
We therefore ask the House to formally advise the UNFCCC of Australia’s intention to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement. The first date representation can be made is 3 years from the date of the ‘entry-into-force’ of the agreement. This date is 9 December 2019. Formal removal becomes effective 12 months later.

Trouble is that the petition won’t take more than one person/ website at a time. So if 2 or more people use the same website only 1 signature can be made.

I’ll sign it and pass it on, but if you think Morrison will pay the slightest attention to it you have another think coming. If you had millions of votes he will not pay any attention, and if we voted for the other lot it would be climate/economic carnage. Sick sad country.

Using this letter as a basis I’ll consider trying to set up a petition to the UK Government. What say fellow Brits?

Yes Yes. Count me in.; but our problem here in the U.K. is the Climate Change Act 2008. Probably one of the worst Acts ever produced by the Westminster Parliament in recent times and passed by a brain dead 99% majority.

Thank you for your support Alasdair. Yes I agree; that thought had crossed my mind. Getting it repealed may have to be a part of the petition.
Another thought crossed my mind since posting that. So much of government bandwidth is being taken up by Brexit that it may well be worth waiting until that is sorted out, if it ever is, then throwing this petition into the ring at present.
I have copied the letter to “word” so that I have a permanent copy for reference.
Another thought. Maybe Nigel Farage could be interested in this; something for him to campaign on after Brexit is sorted as I believe he doesn’t believe in AGW.

I suggest that the thing could be worded better, giving a greater chance of success, or at least impact. Rather than ditching the objective I would ask that the objective is met by reducing energy consumption, rather than by foisting on the country highly inefficient/expensive methods of energy generation (eg wind) and consumption (eg electric cars).

There are methods of energy reduction that would be welcome by all, such as resurfacing all roads to reduce frictional loss, and adding more public holidays, which cause electricity consumption to plummet. Trust the lucky country to already have many public holidays in the summer Xmas period of peak demand.

seeing as we cant even GET surfaced roads in many areas I dont think reworking luxurious suburban corridors is an issue. even main rural roads are so bad that the ambulances have to slow to below 80 with badly injured patients to avoid further harm n pain says a lot.

and why the hell should we reduce conumption whn we have the coal and gas to be able to use it IF we could afford it
and the price hikes are due to this sort of idiotic co2 scaremongering and cashcow green scams for wind n solar crap.

Presumably when you say 80 you are talking about kph? I have this vision of ambulances racing at 80 mph down rutted tracks and the patient banging against the roof

Yes, KPH. I would love to drive at 80 MPH, as I used to do in the UK which is 10 MPH above the speed limit for highways/motorways, here in Aus but the fastest highway speed is 110KPH.

Eric

To get real traction on this you should get SKY NEWS AUSTRALIA to make it a news item. Im sure Bolt, Kenny Murray, Credlin ect would help

October 24, 2019 2:40 am

Just wondering if Australia actually ratified that “agreement” as a Treaty? The US never had Senate ratification, so it was easy to ignore. If it has the status of Treaty, would it take the Commonwealth Office to do something about it? Looks like legal shenaningans…

BTW, Do not forget , in the CO2 fog, the French engineer who built that Eiffel Tower in Paris, also built the Statue of Liberty there and shipped it over.

Saw this somewhere.

There is no man-made Climate Change
There is no such thing at all
Those who invented it are fools
Those who preach it are scoundrels
And those who believe in it are credulous ignorants

Some to put it on a shirt?

How about –
those who preach Climate Change are closet cannibals,
and those who go along are on the menu ?

Personally I prefer French Fries with my faux-filet, rose , pas sanglant.

Signed and sent off to my contact list. Big question is how many signatures does it take for them to be bothered. The climate lunatics rustled up 133, 00 signatures to declare a climate emergency. I hope the politicians won’t listen to the brainwashed climate loonies.

The bright lights of Canada have re-voted the Liberals in power. They forget what the Liberals did in Ontario (one of the highest per capita debt in the world) and the Liberals are now doing the same thing at the Federal level.
A slight increase in the interest rate and Canada will end up paying close to 2 billion a week to service the debt. Meanwhile the Liberals main program seems to be to fight “the climate crisis” They may believe Greta but they should believe that part of the west will separate from Canada.

Back louds on the horizon. All smart Australians will sign the petition.
