Green protester, 20, who caused chaos by gluing himself to a Brisbane street still lives with his parents in emission-spewing five-bedroom mansion with an infinity pool

From The Daily Mail

  • Extinction Rebellion protester Eric Serge Herbert glued himself to Brisbane road
  • The 20-year-old former school captain moved to Sydney for uni but dropped out
  • He is now living with his parents in a five-bedroom waterfront mansion in QLD

The waterfront five-bedroom, four-bathroom mansion in Pelican Waters on the Sunshine Coast also comes with a freestanding aquarium, vacuumaid, a triple lock garage and a private jetty, The Courier-Mail reported.

An average household in Australia emits 14 tonnes of carbon each year.

While it can be hard to determine the exact carbon footprint of a household it is widely accepted a larger house emits more.

Herbert has claimed on social media that he does not live with his parents, but during his first court appearance in June, the climate activist told the magistrate he lived with his parents who supported him.

I have the ultimate idea for how to deal with such protestors who glue themselves in one spot:

* set up a video screen that is horizontal to them, so it’s like watching TV in bed
* now all day long, play skeptic videos about the scam of human-caused climate change
* meanwhile, coat his/her whole body with cheese spread
* release a litter of Belgian Malinois puppies to lick it off, which, I’m afraid would turn into a puppy teething fest, once the cheese wore thin.

Too cruel?

simple solution.

couple drops of dog urine on the ground right next to fuzzy bunny boy’s cute outfit. then an endless parade of large breed dogs to come by and scent mark.

20 dogs won’t go by before fuzzy bunny boy is scrambling out of the velvet costume and abandoning his post.

Joel, I suspect you hit the nail on the head. The great crisis in the West seems to be the lack of meaning.

In the past most people had religion and God and that gave their life meaning. They also had community and extended families. In many cases work was hard but it produced food or other physical things that you could see and touch and that were important.

Now days religion is dead for many people. Fancy philosophies are interesting in midnight dorm rap sessions but fail to satisfy the need for meaning. People live in broken families with one out four marriages ending in divorce. Few people find anything satisfying in most modern jobs. People lack meaning in the lives.

For too many people the void is filled with garbage like climate change, socialism, social justice, or fill in the blank by choosing one item from column one and two entrees from column two. I believe that is the reason we are experiencing all this social craziness.

For all its problems, religion, work, family, community filled an important emotional need.

Mummy and Daddy might be willing to pay your little collection of fines, but that conviction is now on your record. This will hang over your head for the rest of your life. A number of the letters to the Editor of the Brisbane Courier Mail picked up on the point that the Magistrates dealing with his court appearances declined to impose a conviction and fined the offender.
The fines commonly went unpaid but a conviction had the consequences of limiting international travel.
On July 11, after ‘Serge’ obstructed the entrance to the Magistrates Court ( as well as inconveniencing other citizens) a conviction was entered.
Perhaps Serge presently doesn’t intend to visit the US and other countries but later in life he may regret his extremism particularly if the world does not end in 2030.

You’re right. The circumstances. He’s just a poor boy from a poor family. Spare him his life from this monstrosity…

Two other point here, Geoff:

First. Please don’t use gang bang in a sentence. Please. Don’t.

Second. Tall Poppy Syndrome. COMPLETELY Australian. Get over yourself.

Face it, the kid is a selfish entitled brat who’s family came from that ‘top end of town’ Electricity Bill Shorten kept carping on about. (Which says more about how much the ALP like to play the politics of envy more than to comment on if being successful enough to provide for yourself and your family is a ‘bad thing’).

The point being made here is that his beloved Extinction Rebellion are the sort of zealots who demand that everyone make hard sacrifices in the name of Saving the Planet. They demand that everyone else make changes. We MUST stop what we are doing and if we don’t, him and his ‘idealism’ are going to continue to perform civil disobedience (something he brags about in his own social media by the by, so his words, not mine) until WE agree to let him and his friends dictate the terms of our lives.

And where does this young hero live while attempting to control our lives? While demanding we all make changes? He lives in Mummy and Daddy’s really nice house with it’s really nice pool with his own really nice bathroom he doesn’t have to share and more than likely driving around in the really nice car Mummy and Daddy gave him for his birthday.

This is a game to him. It is extremely easy to be filled with social idealism when it is not you personally who needs to pay the power bill every quarter. Maybe it is his parent’s fault. Maybe they should have forced him to take a spoonful of cement with his fair trade every morning. Maybe they should have used their success in life to give their children the very best. This is not the point. The point is that Little Mister Idealism can’t even be accused of being a pot calling out the kettle because I am confident in saying that such an entitled self centred git isn’t even man enough to know how to cook.

Sorry, Geoff, but get over yourself.

So you have done original research that provides data to support your various assertions? Do you know them to be correct, or are you making stuff up? In truth, have you established if the guy can cook or not, or are you just hurling random insults?
This WUWT blog works on a principle of criticism of assertions that are made up or patently wrong. Like many of the synthetic temperatures, from areas with no thermometers, that go into the global “average” temperature. It has never been my impression that Anthony or the mods favour bloggers who act like the reported harpies of old who sat around guillotines chanting in French “Off with his head” while having no idea why said “he” was “there”.
For others, of course I know the usual meaning of “gang bang” as well as picturesque departures from the usual to convey imaginary scenes.

To protect the protesters ‘rights’, allow no interference with or access to their protest.
