It appears some people want to be told scary bedtime stories, with monsters under the bed and ghosts in the closet. The people who believe this are somehow hard wired differently than natural skeptics, sort of like some people see the glass half full, and others see the glass half empty. This probably comes from our long term past when religion/mythology literally ruled the day and most people just accepted whatever the high priests told them. Or as in some other political states, it can be very bad for your health to go against the grain of the establishment and the status quo.
It seems there is no difference between then and now, and it is still about control, power and money. It may take some time to breed this out of our genetic makeup, since the facts of historic climate trends certainly doesn’t prove that we are in or approaching any climate emergency. Unfortunately, Al Gore and his ilk are still milking this for everything they got, and many people want to be frightened by scary stories.

That graph is using raw sea ice extent data. Useless for any meaningful analysis. Many things (snow, snow cover, wind, etc) affect the raw microwave signal that have to be accounted for with weather-related assumptions and corrective algorithms. That process takes time. The website even admits that data can have errors up to 10% and that ice extent can be underestimated.

The arctic ice graph doesn’t show anything unexpected. It’s been this low lower before, just not in hour lifetime.
The mass change graph is informative. Unfortunately is shows that the last five years have leveled out.
Given the size of the variations over the years you probably should use a 30 year(climate) running mean. It would show little change but would be more valid for climate claims.

Only your second link works. Its modelling that should show a lot of variability, even if an underlying downward trend, for it to be believable. You have huge differences from scientists so that some say that the Antarctic has gained ice overall while others guestimate All Gore like scary changes.
1920’s news articles warn of disappearing ice with”Last Winter the ocean did not freeze over even on the north coast of Spitzbergen”. Ice was still covering more than half the coastline half way through spring this year.
It was reported in 1924 that there were two seasons of very little heavy ice in Baffin Bay. Still half the area has heavy ice this June.
It pretty clear that large variation in ice cover is natural.

I could go into a long harangue about cold being the absence of heat, because it’s so simple. Leave a mug of hot tea on the countertop for about 20 minutes and it cools enough to be nearly room temperature. And stirring it won’t make it heat back up. The cup’s clay body may help it hold heat for a while, but eventually, it cools to room temperature and you have to REHEAT IT.
You have to supply heat to reheat the tea. Do none of those UTTERLY BRILLIANT CAGWers, Greenbeans or Warmians, or Gorebullions understand that simple principle? Maybe if they get lost in a blizzard and come across a kindly family living in a sod house they’ll understand things a little better.

What Gore didn’t mention is that he grew up on a tobacco farm, worked on it, and continued to accept checks from that farm for years after his sister died. In 1988, while running for president, he defended tobacco farmers while campaigning in Southern tobacco states (and made the quote up above: ‘I’ve raised tobacco … I’ve shredded it, spiked it,… and sold it.’) He accepted contributions from tobacco companies as late as 1990.
Anybody who would place a poor defenseless turtle on a fence post is not to be trusted. Al Gore was raised surrounded by people who did this frequently enough for it to become lore.
Mr. Gore used to be heavily involved / invested in the carbon trading industry. I recall at one time the value approached $1B. Does he still have this conflict, self-interest ? I’m SURE he would tell audiences if he did.
If Al Gore had an ounce of belief in the fairy tales he presents, he would put himself forward as a Presidential candidate.
It would be interesting to see how long his run for President would last, before the truth of his failed climate predictions and the firm beliefs about climate change he professes to hold, are exposed as mere adornments just personal aids used to help him stay in the public eye.

Al Gore is a very very(?) generous man. In fact, his charitable giving in 1997 was a much as 1/10 of the average for his tax bracket, $353. For example, this is an amazing 1/16 of my charitable giving on 1/3 the income for that year. One can only hope to someday achieve such high ratios as Al has set for us… folks, this is a man truly to be looked up to for self sacrifice.

The falsehoods that Al Gore portrays are indicated by his policy solutions. Like other catastrophists Gore forgets the basic theory. CAGW is supposedly being caused by global emissions. Yet the policy solutions are not global but national, local or even personal. They exclude “developing” countries containing over 80% of the global population, and exclude countries who rely on produning fossil fuels for a large part of their national income, such as Russia, Saudi Arabia and Iran. In the language of the alarmists, even if global policies might save the planet for future generations, current climate policies will make life harder for the current generation without greater returns later.
As an indication of the scale of the problem I have graphed the top 20 fossil fuel producing countries, expressing the approximate value of annual production and expressed as a percentage of GDP. USA and China are the biggest producers, but their economies are vast. Russia’s economy is about 1/13th of the US economy and Saudi Arabia’s about 1/36th, so lower fossil fuel production is far more significant to them.
Thirty years ago when I was in major Australian resources management, I also had other tasks like government interactions and President of a Chamber of Mines and Energy. These gave scope for involvement in social matters apart from the main thrust of discovery, development and rehabilitation.
Two social matters dominated, coping with ever-increasing bureaucratic demands and minimising our reputational damage when the several main enviro NGO groups like WWF, Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth would spread a burst of their inaccurate, hate-filled, tailored or general propaganda.
For the latter we maintained good media relations with a major part of the press and we used the Press for initial corrections to the NGO garbage, which was usuall not very clever garbage. Immature school student level, commonly.
We proceeded on the assumption that deliberate attacks on our reputation were able to be settled in a Court. In our State jurisdiction there was case law derived from an event whereby an actor was hired to “find” the tail of a rat while dining in the top pie restaurant whose reputation was the target. People “smelled a rat”, the dodge was exposed and the perps punished.
Back to the NGO problem, rightly or wrongly, we acted with the confidence that the rat tail case allowed us but we never tested the precedent in Court.
After all that preamble, what is the present situation in jurisdictions like USA, UK and Oz? Is there well known case law, what is it, is it being used, are there alternative ways to protect corporate reputations? Or are we past a tipping point that allows these toxic NGOs to harm how they wish? In my days we would have sued and spent big $$$ to minimise repeat attempts to damage us. Geoff

I’m sure he can’t explain wind shear, either, even though it is the seminal part of a tornado’s birth and existence.
He also can’t explain why the temperature drops so suddenly when a tornado is approaching, but then, if he acknowledges any of these realities, it cooks his moose. (Yes, moose.)
