Cat5 #HurricaneWilla may stop migrant caravan as it slams Mexico

Caravan of migrants swells to 7,000 and stretches more than a mile long as they continue marching towards the U.S. border – but Trump warns full efforts are being made to stop the ‘onslaught of illegal aliens’ source – Daily Mail

I’m sure you’ve heard about this growing threat to the southern U.S. border, which seems to be timed for influencing the mid-term elections. But, nature may have other plans. This graphic from National Hurricane Center shows the path of Willa, and it looks to intersect the path of the migrant march in central Mexico:

DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 1200 PM MDT (1800 UTC), the center of Hurricane Willa was located
near latitude 19.4 North, longitude 107.2 West. Willa is moving
toward the north near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this general motion is
expected to continue today. Willa is forecast to accelerate toward
the north-northeast and move over or very near the Islas Marias
early Tuesday and make landfall along the southwestern coast of
mainland Mexico in the hurricane warning area Tuesday afternoon or
evening.

Maximum sustained winds are near 160 mph (260 km/h) with higher
gusts. Willa is a category 5 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. Some strengthening is still possible today.
Slight weakening is forecast to begin on Tuesday, but Willa is
expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane when it
reaches the coast of Mexico. The Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter
Aircraft that was en route to Willa experienced a safety issue
before entering the storm and had to return to base.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 30 miles (45 km) from
the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105
miles (165 km).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 925 mb (27.32 inches).

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
STORM SURGE: An extremely dangerous storm surge is likely along
portions of the coast of southwestern Mexico by Tuesday or Tuesday
night, especially near and to the south of where the center of Willa
makes landfall. Near the coast, the surge will be accompanied by
large and destructive waves.

RAINFALL: Willa is expected to produce storm total rainfall
accumulations of 6 to 12 inches, with local amounts to 18 inches,
across portions of western Jalisco, western Nayarit, and southern
Sinaloa in Mexico. This rainfall will cause life-threatening flash
flooding and landslides.

Farther inland, Willa is expected to produce rainfall amount of 2 to
4 inches across portions of Zacateca, Durango, southeast Chihuahua,
and Coahuila in Mexico, with local amounts to 6 inches possible.
This rainfall could cause life-threatening flash flooding.

WIND: Hurricane conditions are expected within the hurricane
warning area beginning Tuesday afternoon, with tropical storm
conditions expected by Tuesday morning. Tropical storm conditions
are expected within the tropical storm warning areas by tonight
and Tuesday.

SURF: Large swells generated by Willa will continue to affect
portions of the coast of southwestern and west-central Mexico
during the next few days. Swells should begin to affect portions
of the coast of the southern Baja California peninsula later today.
These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip
current conditions. Please consult products from your local weather
office.

I was thinking more about Mexico’s weak road infrastructure ahead of them that is in the storm path. You can’t cross bridges that are washed out or roads that are flooded and torn up, even if Soros is busing them there.

I’m surprised nobody has already called out your racist, over-the-top and violent comment. I’ll use my wife as an example: she is Hispanic, came here legally many years ago, has a Master’s Degree, speaks English better than most native speakers and has worked hard and paid taxes all these years. She is against illegal immigration. We certainly don’t deserve to have our business boycotted because of the actions of some people south of the border that have nothing to do with us.
And by the way, there is no official language in the United States; I believe it comes under Freedom of Speech. So if you want to require English, by all means, please ‘explain why you are doing this.’

I agree it would be wrong to punish Latino citizens and legal residents for the actions of foreigners with whom they’re not connected. My wife is Chilean, but I felt that way before marrying a Latina.

Some 30 states however do have official language laws, including CA, where it’s effectively a dead letter.

Languages of the United States
Many languages are spoken, or historically have been spoken, in the United States. Today over 350 languages are used by the U.S. population.[3][4] The most commonly used language is English (specifically, American English), which is the de facto national language of the United States. Since the 1965 Immigration Act, Spanish is the second most common language in the country. The United States does not have an official language, but 32 state governments out of 50 have declared English to be one, or the only, official language. The government of Louisiana offers services and most documents in both English and French, as does New Mexico in English and Spanish. The government of Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, operates almost entirely in Spanish, even though its official languages are Spanish and English. There are many languages indigenous to North America or to U.S. states or holdings in the Pacific region. Hawaiian, although having few native speakers, is an official language along with English of the state of Hawaii. Alaska officializes English and twenty native languages.

I agree. It seems we have no laws here in America. They make them, but don’t follow through to enforce them. Seems since obama spent 8 years plus ignoring what’s been going on in our country, we have lost a great deal of respect. He couldn’t even address the killings, looting and burning by his own people in inner cities. He’s more involved now shooting his mouth off than when he was in the whitehouse. It takes a lot of time to turn things around. We’re working on it but it can’t happen over nite. We need to work together which obviously doesn’t look favorable. WE NEED TO ENFORCE OUR LAWS AND STOP SUPPORTING THE WORLD.

George how about you live in Venezuela for a month believe you will be begging to come home. It’s illegal to cross borders any where in the world. America is not a sanctuary country that’s needs to provide to the world with issues. President Trump is awesome and done more than any president before him. He needs to cut aide off to every liberal leader of foreign countries and state until they take care of the own people they receive no funds from us. Those leaders are always first before their own people. Socialism does not work in huge countries only small ones like Sweden etc. Socialism is spreading among the young as they want to be given all they can get free and become entitled. No Way does it work the leaders preach it but all it is, is a wolf in a sheepskin. It’s real name is Communism. Trump has blocked the Politcal ponzi leaders from doing that. Wake up and research it.

Exactly. Did you know that in early 50’s there was NO immigration allowed at all? We are a”light” unto the world to show them what they can turn their country into – not a “lighthouse” to guide them here. I’ve had Korean and Hispanic and Caucasion daughter-in-laws – loved all of ’em, but I don’t want an undocumented caravan of any of them crashing our borders.

I have been spending some time watching Mexican telenovelas, it is an interesting cultural window. I have learned a lot besides some good Spanish insults 🙂

One thing I have learned is that Mexico has it’s own immigration problem, which is people coming from other Central America countries to live illegally in Mexico. That’s right, as bad as things can be in Mexico, it is a paradise compared to Columbia, Cuba, and some other countries, and at least people there also speak Spanish so it is is easier to blend in and get a job. Illegal immigrants to Mexico also face deportation back to their home countries.

They have to be getting food and water from someone.

And who’s paying for the medical bills of the one’s that are reported to have collapsed from the heat and exhaustion? Also, there are buses and trucks in that ‘caravan.’ I think they get out and walk for the cameras .. or perhaps they take turns riding and walking.

This is ORGANIZED. It’s the organizers we need to identify and arrest.

I don’t disagree that it’s ORGANIZED (and indeed agree that we need to identify and arrest the organizers). It’s just that the types of people who organize this type of activity are not known for cleaning up after themselves, so I very much doubt they’ve brought their own porta-potties and trash cans. If you are traveling in the wake of this caravan you should definitely watch were you step.

“mexicans” are feeding, clothing and taking care of the illegals. Also, NGO are helping. An NGO group helped a small group into the US that included MS13 and other criminals. The last “caravans” were supported by leftist groups mostly funded by soros. You can bet they did not bring enough stuff along with to take care of their needs for the journey, nor when they get to the US. The question is ” who will be taking care of them when they reach the US”> Answer is clear – you and me if you pay taxes, and we will be taking care of them for a long, long, time.

From Tapachula (first town in Mexico from Guatemala) to Calzada De Los (town near the Arizona boarder) is 3,645km (2,265 miles), 51 hours by non-stop bus.. At the average walking speed of 3.1 mph that is 730.6 hours, if they walk 12 hours a day, 60 days. Follow the money, 7,000 people could consume $10,000 a day in food, pocket change for Soros. The estimate is based on following the coast to the nearest access point to America.

Kevin:
Tapachula is on the west coast of Mexico on the coastal plain. As you pointed out going to Arizona is long walk, plus its hard to stay on the coastal plain. A better way would be cross over to the Caribbean coast and go up to Matamoros. That’s only about 1830 km. (1144 miles), By your calculations that would be 30 days. that’s only $300,000 for food which , as you point out could be easily done.

However, in addition to weather, (not hurricanes, just heat and rain), there are other concerns about moving an undisciplined group that far. What about individual and public health concerns?
Walking a 1000 miles without some plan for good shoes, and clean socks when needed, I can see a lot of people hobbled with blistered feet. Then there is sickness from lack of hygiene.

An army would not try to march that far without a lot of planning and support. This rag tag group seems to have neither.

March spokesmen say they’re headed for California, not Arizona or Texas. And why not? The sanctuary state of CA protects even murderers, so long as they are illegal aliens.

Even if Kate Steinle’s murderer Zarate in the sanctuary city of SF were telling the truth, ie that her fatal shooting were an accident, how is discharging a firearm in the direction of human beings not manslaughter? Were I to kill someone accidentally with my car, am I not guilty of involuntary, vehicular manslaughter?

Illegal immigrant José Inez García Zárate, aka Juan Francisco López-Sánchez, of Guanajuato, Mexico, was deported from the US five times, most recently in 2009. He was on probation in Texas at the time of the 2015 shooting. He had seven felony convictions. When apprehended, Zarate was listed as 45 years old by police, but as 52 in jail records. Why was this violent felon in the country, let alone protected by the mayor now likely to be elected governor of the once great state of CA?

The murderer was convicted only of a firearms violation. There is no justice in SF, but lots of caca en las calles.

One aspect of our foreign policy is that it is almost always framed with little or no knowledge of our adversaries’ intentions. This is normally excused by a reign of terror that makes it difficult and dangerous to develop human sources in those benighted lands. The fact that we apparently have no information on who is feeding this mob and paying them to walk several thousand miles suggests that the rot in the CIA is much deeper and far reaching than we might have guessed. How difficult would it be to put ten or fifteen vacationers along the path of the march to take pictures of the buses and food trucks that must be working long hours to feed the mob? How difficult would it be to track the financial transactions that pay for these services?

In a functioning constitutional Republic, the intelligence agencies of the government would already know who is paying for this demonstration, and that information would be given to the administration to do with as it thinks best. But in our post-Obama world, it is likely the case that some remote branch of the CIA is a actually a cosponsor, with no interest in exposing the financial interests that created this mob. Mike Pompeo needs to start asking some hard question and demanding answers. And Trump needs to hold Pompeo accountable.

If our CIA can’t figure out who’s paying for the food, shelter, and (later) transportation by rail, then what can they do? I’ve noticed that at some of the Black Lives Matter riots, the press published photos of miles of charter buses that brought the rioters into the city. Each bus had a license plate, and any law enforcement agency could have determined the person paying to bring the rioters into the city by subpoenaing charter companies’ records. That fact that the public blithely presumed that these riots were spontaneous and local says much about their willingness to suspend disbelief. What are you smoking that makes it seem reasonable that 14,000 marchers “fleeing poverty and oppression” can exist without food, water, and shelter for several weeks? When 20,000 were housed in the football stadium in New Orleans following Katerina, the press pretended that their experience was dire and horrible. How is it that 14,000 “children” can be marching for days without sustenance and yet suffer no consequences? How do you hide feeding 14,000 “children”? Something is very wrong if the CIA can’t figure this out.

October 22, 2018 2:30 pm

So how are 7000 “poor” migrants marching a 34 @24 hours a day hike in such a short time? Where is the support and money coming from?

More democrat voters, legal or not, to help turn our country into the same type of schist hole as they left. Why don’t they spend all of this energy fixing their home land? All those msm media types need to move to these countries these caravan people are leaving and complain about the government like they’re doing here. See what happens when you have the type of country they are attempting to change ours into.

The train route which is what will eventually be used (and allowed by Mexican officials) goes east of the predicted bad weather paralleling the Gulf Coast. It has been the route of previous Soros funded “children’s crusades”.

I agree that we should not take out our frustrations on Americans of Hispanic descent. There are many solid citizens like Ted Cruz who want to see the rule of law prevail. If this is going to be stopped it will be up President Trump to shut down the border. The resulting pain (which will be felt on both sides unfortunately) should persuade Mexico to treat these illegals (into their country) like they normally do rather than pretend they are powerless to do anything to look good in the eyes of the left wing media.

Just like the Media loved the Police versius the Greens in their Rubbia Duckies over the Tasmanian “Gordon below Franklin” Green protest about the proposed Hydro, the USA is now facing a Media eveent as the Troops try to stop this caravan. Expect to see the Mothers holding theore babies aloft. And of course all the USA Bleeding Hearts will be there for the cameras.

Its a invasion and if it suceeeds then expect lots more to come from the overppulated South American countries.

President Trump has the constitutional authority to deny entry into the United States to any and all aliens.

I wonder if he will use this authority.

Of course, there will be federal judges who will rule he cannot do that, but they will be overruled by the U.S. Supreme Court because the U.S. Constitution couldn’t be more clear: The president has the authority to deny entry to any alien or group of aliens for any reason he deems sufficient.

If the Republicans retain control of both Houses of Congress then right after the election in November, Congress will be introducing new immigration legislation that will fix the loopholes that now encourage thousands of illegal aliens to come to the United States illegally.

The US government doesn’t know how many illegal aliens are in the country, whether 12 million, 24 million or 36 million. There appear to be about eight million illegal immigrants in the civilian labor force, but that estimate could well be too low.

Trump’s recent estimate of 30 to 34 million illegals is probably high, IMO. However, if the work force figure be accurate, a guess of 24 million becomes plausible, with 2/3 of illegal immigrants either children too young to work, adults on public assistance or engaged in criminal activities, whether violent or not.

The sheriff, now retired, of my rural Intermountain West county sued the federal government for the cost of keeping so many illegal aliens in jail.

Agree completely. I feel sorry for the people in this MOB that are being used for a political ideology, which is despicable. Not all of them are innocently being used though. Probably most are complicit.

One-and-one-half feet of rain and 150 mph winds “might” slow down a migrant caravan?

October 22, 2018 5:23 pm

Cat 5 up Mexico, and there will be no roads to drive or walk north on.

October 22, 2018 5:37 pm

Regarding the millions of illegal alians already working in the USA, do what Australia did many years ago Make it a offence to employ a person without them being registered for income tax.

Also illegals here are not entitled to social welfare benifits, they hve to be properly registered before receiving anything, so o f course they do not.

We do have illegals working in Sweeat shops, usually run by their legal fellow countrymen, but they get raided and deported.

Any illegal is in effeect a 5 th coloumest, intent in the long run of taking control of the country. Alloow settlement of millions and some politicians will say it is too big a problem and try to legalise therir status.

In the US, any person, group of persons, business, organization or local government commits a federal felony when hem she or they:

1) assists an alien whom he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering or assisting him to obtain employment,
2) encourages that alien to remain in the U.S., by referring him to an employer, by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
3) knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

Penalties upon conviction include criminal fines, imprisonment, and forfeiture of vehicles and real property used to commit the crime.

Anyone employing or contracting with an illegal alien without verifying his work authorization status is guilty of a misdemeanor. Aliens and employers violating immigration laws are subject to arrest, detention, and seizure of their vehicles or property. In addition, individuals or entities who engage in racketeering enterprises that commit (or conspire to commit) immigration-related felonies are subject to private civil suits for treble damages and injunctive relief.

Businesses hiring illegals are often raided by the feds, but it makes little difference.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen warned Sunday that the illegal immigrant caravan heading toward the U.S. could be exploited by cartels that control most of the illegal flow of people through Latin America.

Looks very much like the invasion Europe faced a year or so back when Comrade Merkel obligingly opened the door to around a million military age, male, Muslims. I doubt Trump would be that stupid.
The US Navy TC Warning Graphic seems to be predicting wind gusts of around 100 KN at landfall which I gather is around a Saffir-Simpson Category 3?

Trump said today that he would send as many troops to the border as needed to stop the caravan. Questionable reports say that he has selected elements of the Active Army, ie the 82nd Airborne (NC) and 1st Armored (TX) Divisions, for this mission.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-vows-to-send-as-many-troops-as-necessary-to-keep-growing-migrant-caravan-out

Numbers are likely to swell even more as the caravan travels north. The would be immigrants say they’re headed for sanctuary state CA rather than AZ or TX. No mention of New Mexico.

Lethal force is not an option. Even water cannon deployed against the women and children sure to be in the first ranks are probably out of the question. End to end armored vehicles might not be, however. Maybe even concertina wire. Hope it doesn’t come to such extremities. But without borders, a nation is not a sovereign state.

Why is it that illegal aliens from south of the border are welcomed by Democrats and even invited to interfere in our elections by participating in political rallies and speaking at the DNC convention, while Russia nationals who come here are hated by Democrats who seek to punish any Republican who so much as talks to them? It seems awfully contradictory and racist to me.

Most of these commenters apparently must never have suffered through a hurricane. Storm surge is the biggest worry. This storm is predicted to have a deadly storm surge. Damage takes forever to repair. Roads and bridges will be washed out, leaving evacuees no way out. No food, water, or shelter will be available.

As previously stated who is financing th is massive operation . ?

Trump must have manpower available to find out. Check on the transport required should make it possible to find out who is paying. This is a “Dry run”for the future, let this one suceeed and it will be repeated. The sheer mass of people is a smugglers dream, far better than the few “Wetbacks” over the river.

But it has also got to be consdereed as a Media exercise, in a attempt to affect the Mid term elections.

As for Mexico, don’t expect any help from them, they are a part of the problem.

So, After the first invasion wave of 10,000 Illegal Immigrants/future Liberals get through the open border, then there will be the 2nd and 3rd and 4th waves and on and on, wave after wave. We won’t be able to stop them as that would be considered Racist by the Libs. Invasion to Invasion to the tens of millions bringing their Flags and culture and Burning ours. Can you imagine that we hard working Americans will be forced to feed, clothe, house, provide medical care, educate, and build infrastructure to support this uncontrolled illegal invasion. My God our Country will be GONE. I know that not not all of them are criminals but how do you separate the good from the bad? Can you imagine that some of them will be bringing crime and drugs here to destroy our children. But if your a Liberal, Take heart; The Dem’s will be so happy knowing that all these future illegal immigrants will become Democrat voters and will give them total power over our Country for the next several hundred years. Hereby creating a one Party rule over all of us while pretending we are still a 2 Party Democracy. Our Freedom will be gone, our constitution ripped to shreds and discarded. This isn’t because of Trump. Brash as he is; he is a true American and trying like Hell to save our Butts. ; this Slow moving Socialist takeover of America has been going on for decades. Now it’s in full swing. You want to save this Country? BUILD THE DAM WALL NOW and vote these Destructive Socialists out of Power.

Whoever organized this invasion is an international criminal and should be hunted down by Interpol.

The caravan puts children at grave risk. Besides road hazards, hunger, uncleanliness, exhaustion and dehydration, threats include exposure to the elements (unless shelter be arranged every night), scorpions, snakes, coyotes (which grab toddlers), vector-borne diseases and those communicated person to person, and the danger of kidnapping by the Sinaloa cartel.

Child endangerment on this scale can’t be allowed to go unpunished.

Report of the weariest, weakest and sickest dropping out. As more older men, women and children give up, leaving a higher proportion of military-age males, the caravan will take on even more of the aspect of an invasion.
