BANGKOK (Reuters) – – Governments are unprepared for a crucial climate change meeting in Poland later this year aimed at ensuring the full implementation of the 2015 Paris Agreement, Fiji Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama said on Tuesday at the opening of climate talks in Bangkok.
The talks in the Thai capital come ahead of a gathering in Katowice, Poland in December, when government ministers will meet to agree rules for the 2015 Paris climate accord.

After failing to make enough progress in Bonn in May, the Bangkok summit is seen as a last shot before Katowice.
“This is not just an additional session. It is an urgent session,” Bainimarama said.

What a shocking state of affairs. Will these pressing unresolved issues be allowed to dangle until December? Will delegates opt for another week in Bangkok? Or will there be another hastily arranged urgent extra session in an exotic location, to give delegates a chance to resolve their differences in time for the Polish climate conference?
Rest assured these delegates are working your tax dollars as hard as they can. Regardless of how many additional extra sessions are required, they will not rest until they have achieved a happy outcome, and resolved their so far intractable differences.

Is Katowice a good place to be holding a climate conference in December?
At least they can’t be accused of selecting somewhere with a warm climate this time.
Or am I missing something?
Didn’t they hold a conference in Switzerland or somewhere like that where they had to be flown in because there was too much snow and not enough parking? They did stay at a swanky ski resort, but it seems to be one of the few times a very cold, snowy location was chosen.

Poland? In December? There isn’t even good skiing there! They might have to actually discuss what they are purportedly discussing.
This is clearly a case of believing their own lies. The person in charge of selecting meeting sites was assuming that thanks to CAGW, Katowice would be sub-tropical by now….
Snow and ice are ”trapped” ”heat”.

Poland? In December?
They believe fully in their models, which predict a heat-wave in Poland at that time.
I still see it coming that the volunteers and full-time climate conferences participants are banned to change the shorts and underpants of Bangkog. Is not necessary. Fiji and other archipelagos that are threatened with immediate destruction are much more in need of money.
Therefore, there is already a saying in Cattowicze, Poland: The windows opened, the climatics are coming.
There is an ancient joke in Poland and everywere in Central Europe: a couple had inherited a few gulden. They thought about how they could invest the money and came up with the idea to buy some animals. A cow, an ox, a horse and a few rabbits were among them. Also a female goat. But when the farmer considered how he wanted to get a few goat-kids for Easter next year, he had to buy a Geißbock. Said and done. But alas, there was no room in the stable anymore. Well, they can always visit the Museum of the History of Computers and Computer Science. Meanwhile, there was a time when a Saturday night on the town felt like creeping quietly through a cemetery, that has all changed with a plethora of restaurants, cafes, cocktail bars and clubs moving in to give the city centre some buzz. But given the number of hangers-on at these events, there may be a bit of overcrowding.
Poland? In December?
Maybe that’s one of the reasons for Bangkok. Poor attendance expected in cool climate?
Anyway, it’s party time on someone else’s dime!

I trust that they won’t have the cheek to have any heating on in whatever conference halls and rooms the climatistas use in Katowice – especially as Poland sensibly still produces much of its power by coal burning. Surely they couldn’t be such hypocrites as to put their personal comfort ahead of virtue signalling or enjoy more comfort than the poor who cannot afford the price of heating as a result of the parasitic green agenda?

Without the US the Climate Change brigade falls apart. Not to worry about being represented though as California has vowed to uphold the US. Let’s see how much money California will contribute to the world pot of climate shame retribution.
Someone in California should put an initiative on the ballot to have California pay the full “US amount” into the UN green fund even if it means raising taxes in Cali. Let’s see if the voters of Cali believe the BS the people they elected spout.

I spent a week there and while the sights can be fantastic, the city is an over crowded, sweaty, stinking hell hole.
I thought I’d visited some nasty unpleasant cities until I visited Bangkok.
Looking at the electrical system and one wonders at how they function with out constant fires and black-outs. And, the sewerage system is abysmal to dysfunctional. Roads are marginally maintained and the traffic control…laughable.
But….its all due to climate change.

The CO2 cult has been trying to leverage the 1st World to redistribute and control the World Economy and way of life thru the Climate Command and Control of the UN. Yeah, they’re about 3 years too late to agree on rules, unless one of the rules is to “invent a time machine to send the rules back to Paris in 2015”

Seriously, this list should make any rational person sick to their stomach. Consider all the wasted energy, time and resources that have been poured into this black hole over the last few decades, and this list is just the tip of the massive global iceberg. All in pursuit of ideological agenda against private property and individual liberty; who’s only observable outcome has been to enrich a small group of elitist pigs.

I wonder if they are getting fossil-fuel producing countries to agree to leave at least 75% of their proven reserves of fossil fuels (and all future discoveries) in the ground?
McGlade and Ekins 2015 (The geographical distribution of fossil fuels unused when limiting global warming to 2°C) estimate that the proven global reserves of oil, gas and coal would produce about 2900 GtCO2e. They further estimate that the “non-reserve resources” of fossil fuels represent a further 8000 GtCO2e of emissions.
I took these estimates of proven reserves and divided them up by major country.

Maybe when activists try to block a pipeline, or exploring for further fossil fuels in Western countries, it might be worth reminding them how futile it all is in the context of preventing future CO2 emissions.
Who is paying for these happy holidays for the hundreds of deligates. Silly question, you the taxpayers. Time to get out into the street and demand that they use teeleconference facilities.
