Malicious WUWT troll sees police show up at his door

Sometimes, you just have to fight back. This is a personal note that goes along with the recent news of the bullying of Dr. Susan Crockford and Dr. Judith Curry.

Thanks to the Chico Police Department and officer Jim Parrott, I learned today that we were able to shut down a person living in Windsor Ontario who has been serially harassing me and threatening me and my family for over a year. He was doing this because of my views on “climate change” and my website: https://wattsupwiththat.com

Officer Parrott reached out to the Windsor Police Department (Constable Strong in the WPD Major Crimes Unit) and provided him all the research I’d gathered (including setting up an Internet “honeypot” to trap him) and today we get word back that the suspect has been identified, and has had police officers show up at his front door.

This particularly malicious troll is one of the “Arctic sea ice zealots” that inhabit Jim Hunt’s “Great White Con” website on sea ice. Both Jim and this troll were long ago banned from WUWT for serially bad behavior breaking our commenting policy multiple times, but this one troll couldn’t let it go. He escalated, and continued to do so.

Of course, the troll embraced the crazy and patently wrong views promoted by Dr. Michael Mann and many others that I’m an “agent of the Koch brothers, and on the take to run WUWT”.

As I’ve said many times in the past, I’ve never taken a dime from the Koch’s; they don’t even know who I am. WUWT is entirely supported by advertising and donations.

My opinions published here and the opinions of guest authors is entirely our own, and not “for hire” as some weak-minded people assert. One of these days, Dr. Mann is going to find himself on the wrong end of a lawsuit for promoting these falsehoods that incite people like I’ve had to deal with for over a year. In fact, this particular troll claimed he had enlisted Dr. Mann as part of his plan to “expose me” (the troll’s words). He also said he’d enlisted Sou aka Miriam O’Brien of Hotwhopper in his cause against me. Of course, it turned out to be nothing but bluster, but wow, this guy had quite an imagination and hatred for me in his heart.

Thanks to the work of the Windsor Police Department and the Chico Police Department, this malicious Internet troll won’t be bothering me again.

Thanks also to a number of bloggers who helped me zoom in on this guy by sharing information. Thanks also to “Poptech” whose research was very helpful. Great thanks to our own “Charles the Moderator” who helped me stay calm and focused on the “long game” rather than let this toad get under my skin.

Its quite a feeling of satisfaction to [get some action on] this case, especially since this dirtbag had assumed multiple identities, used fake emails, and other techniques to hide his identity. Much like some of the other trolls we deal with here daily, but this one stepped over the line, time and time again.

For example here are excerpts from a long rambling email I received (along with Charles the Moderator who was helping me) Tuesday, November 07, 2017 4:28 PM

NOVEMBER 12th 2017

This is just one of dozens of crazy emails with threats I received over the last year and a half. Some contained thinly veiled death threats, some like this one were irrational rants, some were incomprehensible references to things he “knew” but I had no idea what the hell he was talking about. The reference to November 12th in this email was a “drop dead date” for an extortion attempt (I was supposed to donate to the Canadian organization Medicine Sans Frontiers aka doctors without borders to avoid my exposure of “Koch dollars”). Of course, I’m not easily extorted, because I knew this jerk was just making things up out of his own Koch-fueled imagination.

My mistake was originally treating him with respect over a complaint he had about WUWT, and replying using my personal email. That was a dumb move of trust on my part that I won’t repeat again.

So, we nailed him. Despite his cowardice and shapeshifting, we prevailed, and we used his own stupidity against him to trap him in the “honeypot” so a positive ID could be made.

I won’t share the technique I devised, but it’s safe to say he had no idea what hit him when officers showed up at his door in Windsor. While it is very very tempting to share the file I have on him thanks to the police, I’ve learned long ago that “discretion is the greater part of valor“. I’ll just keep it handy, just in case I need to exercise my rights further.

Right Thomas? aka “Lawrence Martin”, aka “Reggie”, aka “Reginald Perrin” aka “Saul from Montreal”, aka “Solomon Gursky”, aka “Master of Space and Thyme” among others… here’s a partial photo of Thomas the troll from the file:

In the meantime, potential dirtbags that might be thinking of threatening me or my family or any other climate skeptic should think again. We won’t tolerate it. Climate skeptics are fed up with the threats and smears as we’ve seen against Dr. Curry and Dr. Crockford, and we aren’t going to take it anymore.

So, in closing…

Troll, troll, troll your boat gently down the stream…

Merrily, merrily, merrily merrily, anonymity is but a dream.

UPDATE:

BTW, I forgot to add this note. There’s precedence for arresting Internet trolls in Canada, such as this notorious one who got 16 counts and a psych evaluation:

Most of us don’t have the resources to be able to follow in your footsteps Anthony, should we become victims of the same sort of malicious activity.

So when you have a success like this, we are all the beneficiaries of your perseverance .

Reggie, Jim Hunt and Griff are three trolls of a feather. There is absolutely no way to reason with them in a polite manner. But even more chilling is that these people and even the supposedly more responsible true believers want to suspend the First Amendment, shut down the Internet, and destroy our right to free speech. Not to mention jailing skeptics.

The fact that these people are going psycho at this time obviously shows that we are winning and they are losing!

Glad to know that this pathetic excuse for a homo sapiens was finally located and nailed, mostly because he can’t keep his Big Fat Mouth shut.

I’ve had an online stalker for going on 4 years now, but he was dumb enough to think he could provoke me into retaliating. He began stalking and harassing other people, too, and it finally caught up with him. He is now in jail, with a second hearing coming up next week. This one is SO STUPID that he violated a restraining order placed on him by some of the others he had stalked and harrassed from his jail cell. I kid you not. In the process of finding things out, I and other people stumbled across things he is connected to in the past, things that made us all cringe. That is being investigated also.

Congratulations, Anthony. Thumbs up, big time!!!

After all the green and left are sponsored by such people as the Rockefeller Bros.

How do I know this?

Well the Rockefeller Bros have a search facility on their website where you can look up every donee. There are a lot of familiar names there.

If a person has an physical abnormality you would be violent to them?
Or do you believe they should be given help and medical assistance?
If someone has a mental abnormality you think that physical violence is a good method of assisting them and society, or is it just for your own gratification?

Yes he’s a nasty, vicious troll of the very worst kind, and may even have become violent. He is undergoing an mental assessment and may well be found to be mentally defective in some way.

You are dangerously naive. Far too often people you describe go on, after “treatment”, to commit horrific acts of violence against innocent people. Will this one come after AW again? I doubt it, he will pick another target, one who has no clue what he is. And it is a good bet he will take this whole experience and become worse. Instead of helping him it will make him even more angry and he WILL seek outlets to receive that anger. The proverbial “boot to the head” may well be exactly what he needs. This idea that medical and psychiatric “treatment” can fix people who don’t want to be fixed is dangerous, and in far too many cases leads to innocent people being harmed or killed.

I take it you have verified figures for “Far too often people you describe go on, after “treatment”, to commit horrific acts of violence against innocent people. ”
I’m of the belief more research into treatment should be done and not more violence against the person. Violence does not solve the problem!
Your prognosis of giving people a “boot to the head” is truly vile and can not improve anything, certainly not any of society’s mental health problems. These people need effective treatment not violence!

As a daily visitor to WUWT, I am expressing my gratitude for the work you and your volunteers do. You are already a ‘David’ to the ‘Goliath’ of the global warming paradigm. December 7, 2017 6:35 pm

I see this person as part of a wider problem in today’s ‘social-media’ world. Supposedly responsible people in the media, or people who get attention in the media, have long been playing fast and loose with both the truth and truthful language. They are often so blinded by a political hatred of people who disagree with them that they lose sight of what is considered normal respectful manners and consideration for other people. Thus if people who know better routinely, say, describe Donald Trump as “literally Hilter”, then there is going to be some small fraction of the population who start to think and act as if it might be true.

In Anthony’s case, it is the Michael Mann’s of this world who do know better, but simply don’t care where their baseless allegations end up. Nor do they accept any personal responsibility for having effectively incited less intelligent people to do hurtful things to other people who are wholly innocent of the imagined misdemeanors.

Ant,

Empty vessels make the most noise. I suspect this guy was never a physical threat to you or your family. He’s a nonentity; an internet bully with a juvenile inferiority complex that demands him seeking personal validation by issuing empty threats. He imagines he can hide behind anonymity because his naive belief is the internet is anonymous, which in itself reveals his puerile ignorance and incompetence.

The point being is that he would never break cover to perpetrate a physical crime. Were he truly a threat to you he wouldn’t broadcast his ‘intentions’, he would just carry them out. And I would cite your own conduct to support that contention. You didn’t announce your intentions to have him dealt with, you had the good sense to just do it and quite literally, appear at his door, out the blue.

You have demonstrated, with considerable credit to you and your close friends, that you are all trousers and no mouth.

As irritating as he is, and I can imagine how much he upset you, you have done the right thing by enlisting help, tracking the guy down, and getting the police involved.

And it may be of cold comfort, but you now know how to find, and deal with these people. Any subsequent event will become easier, and increasingly satisfying as you pick them off one by one.

It is true that guns do not ‘freak out’ us Canadians. However, our American friends should also know that gunfire does provoke extreme responses, and there is strong public reaction when the response is not extreme enough or the law enforcement officers lack the equipment or training maintain the proud Canadian ideal of one shot fired for every perpetrator downed.

[Bullying is an offence.]

Cyberbullying involves the use of communication technologies such as the Internet, social networking sites, websites, email, text messaging and instant messaging to repeatedly intimidate or harass others.

Cyberbullying includes:
•Sending mean or threatening emails or text/instant messages.
•Posting embarrassing photos of someone online.
•Creating a website to make fun of others.
•Pretending to be someone by using their name.
•Tricking someone into revealing personal or embarrassing information and sending it to others.

Cyberbullying affects victims in different ways than traditional bullying. It can follow a victim everywhere 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from school, to the mall and all the way into the comfort of their home – usually safe from traditional forms of bullying.

Relative to polar bears and sea ice, from what I have read the polar bear and the brown bear are essentially the same species. From that I would expect that one migrated and evolved a difference in coat colors etc. This would then mean that there had been divergence at some point and probably convergence in the future. Net effect would be trivial and in any case, the ecosystem will change and the inhabitants of the area will change with it.

That is very interesting. Most of the Canadians I have ever dealt with have been the most polite people around. Is there something going on up there that has changed that recently? The Canadian Air Force ladies and gentlemen I dealt with were always very polite and unassuming. I couldn’t imagine any of them doing anything remotely like this.

“Is there something going on up there that has changed that recently?”

Yes. A liberal government that is: welcoming ISIS fighters back into Canada, importing thousands of Islamic migrants to bolster their voter base; allowing thousands of illegal migrants to pour through non-ports of entry at an unprotected border to claim asylum; passing blasphemy motions to quell “Islamophobic” dissent; removing FGM as an illegal practice from citizenship guides; instituting escalating carbon taxes; crushing proposed pipelines with new emissions regulations (while allowing cement factories with twice the emissions to proceed with no regulation) – all while importing oil from terror states; a corrupt Finance minister whose family dumped $millions in shares days before a tax increase across the board.

The looney troll is a left wing zealot and online bully that likely soiled himself when the cops showed up. He’ll show up in court like a whipped dog, full of tears when he realizes that there is a real world out there with consequences.

Your comment makes me smile, as the nicest Americans I met up here in Canada were from our local military base, they were the same as your description.

Of late here – it’s sadly changed, more like a European state of mind than being for freedom and sovereignty of one’s own identity and culture. The current PM is one of the worst ones to date, in our short history. Global elites have been gobbling up Canada’s political landscape unfettered for at least a good decade or more.
But as they say, you deserve the gov you voted for – save for I personally didn’t vote for this disastrous PM.

Here’s the relevant Canadian law.

264.1 (1) Every one commits an offence who, in any manner, knowingly utters, conveys or causes any person to receive a threat
(a) to cause death or bodily harm to any person;

The penalty is as much as five years in prison.

There is also law against harassment but it’s sometimes hard to get the police to deal with it. Threatening, on the other hand, is clear cut and the police are quite willing to lay charges.

I mock people who think that only people who believe in a metaphysical higher power are zealots. People who believe that human beings or governments are the highest power are quite capable of being overcome with obnoxious zealotry.

Followers of Marx, who wanted to do away with religion (belief in a metaphysical higher power), only wanted to do away with it so that the people would instead worship the state as the highest power. Humanists, which include atheists, prefer to worship humanity as the pinnacle of higher power, and that can also create zealotry.

I cannot believe how much heat (ahem) I get for even mentioning what I have learned here and elsewhere during polite dinner conversation. It’s disgusting. This kind of intellectual bigotry and self-righteous indignation, all based on a series of frauds, can amount to bullying at its finest. It tends towards a kind of totalitarianism, and it is not to be taken lightly. It is a mob and should be regarded as such. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever, besides perhaps teaching you much about your ‘friends’, at least if you value free thought.

I realize this is a group largely geared toward science concerns, but rest assured there are more frauds in other domains from which elaborate, equally harmful belief systems have formed, and these can be dangerous. They function the same way.

no one asked what changed in the diet during ww2. it wasn’t smoking or animal fat. plenty before the war. margarine and hydrogenated vegetable oil was the big change. synthetic food humans were not adapted to eat via evolution. we are seeing evolution in action as people die early humans become better adapted to eating junk food.

The ‘diet-health’ hypothesis, Ancel Keyes and his Seven Countries Study, the role of the Sugar Association in lobbying to mislead the public through nutrition policy and more, the vilification of John Yudkin and the nearly complete destruction of his scientific career is of course an excellent example, and not much politically controversial so easier to discuss than ‘climate change’. (The term as typically used makes me cringe.)

There are others, and often poorly conducted (or outright fraudulent) studies are used to create a body of claims that become a belief system, and so are born various religions to which the rudderless may adhere.

No, …What they know is that they *must* be right, as they were told they were right the first time. All else is betrayal of themselves, so they will make up whatever interpretation of events is needed to believe that their assigned position, of being on top, is right. To do otherwise is the evil of betrayal of self. They are either on top of the world, by being right, or they are scum scraped off the bottom of the cesspool, and there can be nothing in between. I was just looking at this again and was reminded of something from an essay I recently read, especially regarding the mindset of criminals:

http://www.aei.org/publication/bernie-madoff-steve-jobs-and-wall-street-greed/

A criminal psychologist was saying that people like Bernie Madoff would say that they are good people and sure enough, shortly after he made that point, Mr. Madoff was saying that he was a good person.

I can just see this troll, after dealing with the police, spending time rationalizing in his mind that he really is a good person. I wonder how long before he goes back to his evil ways …

Very sorry that you get crazies like this. I think that you’re owed a lot of apologies from warmist commentators for stirring up nutters like this. Most of them know that the oil funding is a myth but use it as an excuse for their own failure to persuade the multitudes. I’ve been reading your site since almost the start and I’ve never once doubted that you spoke from conviction and that you were a genuinely nice person. You’ve even got more personal experience with cutting CO2 than any warmist blogger I’ve read. I was really moved when you decided to drive to a meeting with the US weather bods rather than fly, so that you could audit weather stations on the way. That’s the behaviour of a very honest man.

It’s worth noting that if you get a problem in the UK, the country also takes internet harassment seriously.

Well done Anthony, Charles too. I don’t think there can be any doubt that threat or fear of being identified and subsequently prosecuted for a crime – any crime – is a very strong deterrent to future would-be law-breakers. Well done on getting this certifiable basket case nailed. It just goes to show that AGW theory proponents are really not that much different from radical islamists.

From their theological based doomsday loaded language (“do you BELIEVE in climate change? If not you’re a DENIER!”) it’s a theory, not a deity. Right through to their unhinged, threatening and sometimes violent behaviour, when someone questions their beliefs.

The AGW theory proponents most likely don’t know a theory from their elbows. This shiite science never even rose to the level of a hypothesis, let alone a falsifiable hypothesis. It was a conjecture at best, and now, shown by the evidence, to be a failed conjecture.

Robert,
My correct name always used.
History of 3 threat episodes referred to police. One nutter let my car loose down our steep driveway? Another put a device that looked like a bomb on our outdoor BBQ table. Several other had death threats? The worst was one we never caught, who used to phone my wife when I was away an note that I was away. It became more creepy when our car was stolen then returned pronto by police who later were in local news for allegedly running a car stealing racket. All but the latter were plausibly related to my public stance against greenie madness, being on 4 Corners and so on. My logic is that I feel more positive and immune using real name, as in too much of a handful for nuisances to bother.

In the UK our police put political correctness before doing their duty and I am pleasantly surprised that the Canadian police didn’t do the same, given their governments support over “Green” policies. Hysteria is always confined to questioning a belief as opposed to logic questioning science, if that is small consolation?.

December 8, 2017 4:19 am

Congratulations on getting rid of such problem, Anthony. Nobody should have to endure it. The law enforcement doesn’t prevent us from becoming a victim, it just puts an end to it.

This particular form of manifestation of mental illness is not exclusive of climate alarmism, and in fact prominent alarmists might get their own loonies, being harassed and threatened by crazed “deni3rs.” We all know that every prominent internet site, no matter its subject and opinion, has to deal with internet trolls. It is the price of prominence in a world with instant communication that has a share of its population with mental problems.

Steve from Rockwood

The only way to get rid of these people (Trolls) is to hit back hard (legally). No person should have to suffer threats, where Internet-based or not.

It should be mandatory that the police contact his employer to inform them of the Troll’s habits. And what business does a middle-aged man have being an Internet Troll? He should be out working in a soup kitchen or teaching his Grand-Daughter how to read.

December 8, 2017 6:56 am

Hi Anthony, and congratulations on having this troll identified.

I suggest you are being to kind to this troll and you should publicly name him, in order to discourage similar threatening conduct by others. This threatening conduct is not only upsetting, it can be dangerous, and that risk should be recognized and strongly discouraged.

Dr. Tim Ball has been subjected to many death threats, and so have other climate scientists who have spoken out against false global warming alarmism. I received one such threat back in 2002 (it was rather lame, and I feel underappreciated).

I am not at liberty to divulge details, but one highly respected scientist I know had the family dog taken from the yard and killed – that scientist is convinced that this was not a random event, but was a targeted attack due to that scientist’s public statements opposing global warming alarmism.

There are global warming alarmists and there are the thugs who they encourage with their strident falsehoods. This stopped being about science decades ago, when some fraudster first said “the science is settled”.

Global warming alarmism is a leftist political movement, as best described by Dr. Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace in his 1994 essay, excerpted below. Moore states that after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the environmental movement was taken over by Marxists… and evolved into the watermelon outfit it is today. Read “The Rise of Eco-Extremism” below.

Best regards and Best Wishes to all for the Holidays.

– Allan MacRae

http://ecosense.me/2012/12/30/key-environmental-issues-4/

THE RISE OF ECO-EXTREMISM

Two profound events triggered the split between those advocating a pragmatic or “liberal” approach to ecology and the new “zero-tolerance” attitude of the extremists. The first event, mentioned previously, was the widespread adoption of the environmental agenda by the mainstream of business and government. This left environmentalists with the choice of either being drawn into collaboration with their former “enemies” or of taking ever more extreme positions. Many environmentalists chose the latter route. They rejected the concept of “sustainable development” and took a strong “anti-development” stance.

SURPRISINGLY ENOUGH THE SECOND EVENT THAT CAUSED THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT TO VEER TO THE LEFT WAS THE FALL OF THE BERLIN WALL. SUDDENLY THE INTERNATIONAL PEACE MOVEMENT HAD A LOT LESS TO DO. PRO-SOVIET GROUPS IN THE WEST WERE DISCREDITED. MANY OF THEIR MEMBERS MOVED INTO THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT BRINGING WITH THEM THEIR ECO-MARXISM AND PRO-SANDINISTA SENTIMENTS.

THESE FACTORS HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO A NEW VARIANT OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL MOVEMENT THAT IS SO EXTREME THAT MANY PEOPLE, INCLUDING MYSELF, BELIEVE ITS AGENDA IS A GREATER THREAT TO THE GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT THAN THAT POSED BY MAINSTREAM SOCIETY.

Allan you are not far off. In my 30 plus year profession I was required to work with the environmental movement at all levels, local, state, national and international. Early on the environmental movement and radical socialists could find no common ground. As the Soviet Union began to collapse, and that was well before 1990, funding and training of radical socialists in the West began to dramatically decline. About the same time several things happened. Groups of younger socialists began to approach environmental groups at the local level trying to gain a foothold in the larger organization at the state or national level. Meanwhile younger and far more inpatient environmentalists began to go radical, think of the monkey wrench gang movement. Remember that prior to 9-11-2001 the US terror assessment had radical environmental terrorists and animal rights radicals as the most serious domestic threat. Then along came CAGW. Suddenly there was common ground as they or at least their leaders saw it now there was common ground, a common enemy. Environmentalists blamed corporations and therefore capitalism as the biggest threat to mother earth. For radical socialists capitalism had always been the ultimate evil. So today we face the combined forces of these groups. There is cross fertilization between boards, funding sources, and planning. Staff from one group may work as board members on another. Funding is washed through one group to another. What is truly bizarre is that some of these same groups have now allied themselves with radical Islamists. I just wonder whether or not the troll after Anthony was on somebodies payroll. I know on some blogs they are.

Anthony, the post does not describe the nature of the police visit. Was he arrested ? Charges filed ? Or was it a verbal warning : we know who you are and you had better stop, etc.

December 8, 2017 10:07 am

What we don’t know from the post (and I don’t suggest it should be revealed) is whether the troll is one of the opposition elite (the “Consensus Club” of Climate Scientists), some academic with some smidgen of science in his background who is well known by the faithful on the blogosphere, or just one of the anonymous “useful idiots” who take CAWG as gospel.
This take down should send a well deserved message message to all 3 groups and MAYBE will inject some degree of caution into their posts.
That entire community may have been lulled over the years by the apparent success of Dr Mann to mis-use the law to fend off criticism, by attacks from the President’s Science Advisor, and even RICO threats by state AGs.
Let’s hope this instance as well as efforts such as Dr Crockford’s stance against “scientific” bullying are evidence that the tide is turning.

Though you can’t reveal techniques, the fact that you were able to, is very reassuring for many. It would be nice if you pinned this article at the top for a week, so trolls and those they attack can see it. Much value in this story as a strong deterrent.

I’d like to add this comment:
There is some complacency among people, partly based on how things worked in the past, regarding being able to hunt down someone that commits crimes on the Internet. Long gone are the days of script kiddies. Today’s hackers are close to 100% organized crime or governments. Most of us don’t have that kind of skill to hide our identity.
In addition, there are excellent tools, skilled people and organizations that know how to track people down. So, if you are a novice and think of engaging in illegal activities on the Internet, be ready to “do time”. One mistake on your part and you will be found.

Again congratulations, and thank you!

Just donated CAD $133 (sadly only $100 USD) in gratitude for your excellent and ongoing battle for truth and against politicized science. It has taken your particular case for me to understand the full gravity of online bullying and threats. I hate the idea of governments regulating the internet, but I suppose given human nature that the need truly exists. Good luck in getting full justice re. this wretched Canadian.

A word of caution: our Canadian court system is strongly skewed to the left, and tends to reward or ignore the transgressions of SJWs, while applying different standards to those on the wrong side of political correctness.

Thanks for informing us about this, Anthony. Should be a lesson for all of us about the vulnerabilty of the internet…and the “Lunatic Fringe.”

Wikipedia:

The Koch family foundations are a related group of non-profit organizations that began with the establishment of the Fred and Mary Koch Foundation in 1953, and now includes the Charles Koch Foundation, the David H. Koch Charitable Foundation and the Koch Cultural Trust. The organizations collectively have a stated goal of “advancing liberty and freedom” through the support of various causes which “further social progress and sustainable prosperity.”[11] In addition to the direct action of the non-profits, the groups have also contributed financially to other philanthropic organizations in the fields of research, public well-being, arts, and education, including contributions to scholarship programs, university support, and loan assistance through organizations like the United Negro College Fund.[12]

What the heck is wrong with the Koch family??? Nothing!!!

Living in Canada could prove to be a real problem for this troll . No benefit of the 1st Amendment there. A real pity.

Can’t be a recent mugshot. That supercilious smile would have been wiped of his face well and truly by now.

The weakness of Michael Mann’s ridiculous hockey stick arguments are underlined by his having to resort to trollerie; why is he so intransigent. From the outset my knowledge of radiation from non luminous gases made a CO2 led man made global warming a non starter, so I was never a skeptic as the concept has always been ridiculous. Well done Anthony for promoting reasoned argument with WUWT.

Well done Anthony. The work you are doing here has embedded itself into the craw of the CAGW movement. I applaud your efforts in keeping WUWT alive and well, while allowing healthy debate on such a complex subject.
I’m no climate expert, just a lowly engineer, so this and a few other sites are essential places to get alternate views and information not readily offered by mainstream media. It’s a shame so many lay people have made up their minds based on media headlines without so much as a cursory glance behind the curtain. For example, my wife, a PhD research scientist herself, leans toward AGW though has yet to spend a single minute looking into either side of the debate. Now we have to help 2 kids navigate through the inevitable indoctrination of HS science with an open mind. I foresee some rigorous conversations brewing in my own home in the next few years, though it won’t get as nasty as anonymous posters on blog sites or internet articles. 🙂

Anyway, keep up the good work.

This fruitcake looks like a real sweetheart from the nose down. A little tight-lipped, but.

BTW, gracious host, the plural of “Koch” is “Kochs”, not “Koch’s”.
