Cartoonist Rick McKee of the Augusta Chronicle has captured the essence of the alarmist sentiments over our current hurricane situation where there’s a blame-a-minute coming from the left…because climate is weather and all that.
While the cartoon may be funny to some, and not others, let it be said that in no way does it diminish our concern for the safety and welfare of people that are in the path of hurricane Irma, or were victims of hurricane Harvey. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by these back-to-back weather events, and we hope for the best possible outcome.
By the way, Rick has an excellent book of political and global warming cartoons available here
“let it be said that in NOW way…”

Brilliant cartoon!
The orange fur on teh sabre-tooth tiger’s head looks strangely familiar….
Garfield’s ancestor!
The only thing “funny” about a NATURAL disaster is the lengths some Menn … er … men will go to to blame it on Man.
PS Relatives in both Port Arthur and the Tampa area. Fight the hype of “Mann et al”. Be Prepared for nature.
Spot on for the legacy media, and most of the Hollywood and leftist professor loons.
Read a story today that one of the Hollywood types (I forget her name. Star of Hunger Games?) blamed Trump for Irma. She said something about Mother Nature being angry he was elected.
(Maybe she plays the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz in real life?)
Hum? Houston voted for Hillary, and those most likely to die in Florida are the poor.
The actress probably remembers the old ad for Blue Bonnet margarine that ends with “You can’t fool Mother Nature!”
In order to act for the big bucks it appears a necessity to empty one’s head of all extraneous items such as logic, critical thinking, objectivity and empathy for fellow humans. It appears one is however able to act while preserving the hypocritical gland that allows one to preach one thing while doing the opposite. My suggestion is that every celebrity who thinks this way but continues to occupy beach front property should be forcefully evacuated to high ground (maybe Siberia) for their own safety and for the benefit of those of us who’ve heard more than enough nonsense from them all.
She one of those FCUI (Fashits Comifts Useful Idiots)
That’s Jennifer Lawrence, whose last formal education was middle school in KY, although after home schooling by her mom in LA, so that she could pursue her acting career, she passed her high school equivalency exam.

At age 27, I doubt that she does recall that ad.
“Everything’s better with blue Bonnet on it.”
Acting is essentially trained sociopathy, so a lack of real-world empathy is a regular occupational hazard. Combine that with the insular, self-fellating atmosphere of Hollywood and its almost miraculous anyone comes out of there with any recognizeable humanity left.
“Everything’s better with blue Bonnet on it.”
Settled science re: trans fats…..right.
Not to mention the Associated Press, which tonight proclaimed that “Nature is going nuts,” and quoted Dr. Jeff Masters as saying it’s because of Global Warming. SMH!!!!!
If your only contact with the larger world is the circle-jerk of the NYT, WashPo, Guardian, Atlantic, New York mag, CNN, MSNBC and NPR, you’re going to think their version of “reality” is Truth. Most of the Bubble-dwellers I know literally will not accept any news source but one of the above–let’s include HuffPo and Daily Beast. They think everything else is “corrupted by money.” I tend to back away from these types slowly, carefully uncovering a large clove of garlic . . .
Humor, or lack thereof, is often just a matter of timing.
Somehow those who use calamities like these hurricanes to tout CAGW are above reproach but those who use humor to criticize them are beyond the pale. The double standard is blatant and disgusting.
“the essence of the alarmist sentiments over our current hurricane situation where there’s a blame-a-minute coming from the left…because climate is weather and all that.”
Even Democrats are getting worn out. In-laws are starting to complain that when the news latches on to something, “they won’t drop it for weeks, and every one has to listen to it.”
Remember us up here in the north. We have had a red sun for an entire month because of so many fires. The US Forest Service refuses to allow super tanker 747s to help with these fires. We have an awful fire here in the Columbia Gorge. It is so sad, and only 7% contained after a week.
Why won’t they let you use the super tankers?
Here is a local description of the Super Tanker issue from Lars Larson:
Starting in August the fires in the NW have been burning continually, giving us a red sun, as I said. They are burning across Montana, Oregon, Washington, Utah and California and I think Colorado (plus BC Canada). The Forest Service has allowed millions of acres to be destroyed by beetles; many access roads are closed, thinning and logging has been greatly restricted, and now the US Forest Service is in many different disputes with each western state to restrict the use of various planes for fire suppression of these dry dead tinder boxes that used to be our forests. It is not only super tankers but also there have been claims that other air craft “do not meet standards.” ref: http://www.americanlandscouncil.org/dnrc_helicopters_barred_from_fighting_fires_on_federal_land
This country has been used as the lab rats for a “nature only” federal forest mismanagement program for the past 40 years. It is totally failing before our eyes. The fires have reached all time highs and I do not mean to be rude when I say they cover a lot acres than your basic hurricane.
Good news. The Global Super Tanker (747) is performing Air Attack on fires in California. In the past week it applied retardant to the Railroad, Peak, Cathedral, Mission and Spot fires in Mariposa and Madera counties. The flight path from Atwater (former Castle AFB) to the fires is right over my house. She did 5 big circles the other day on one flight…impressive to see in her bright red and white livery at less than 1000 feet.
I am so thankful to hear that, and that the situation is turning around for you! Finally some good news — thanks for that John MacDonald.
We have a terrible fire here that grew to thirty thousand acres practically over night. It is a very beautiful wooded area where we hike a lot, called Eagle Creek. There was finally authorization to use the Global Super Tankers after intense publicity and pressure on the governor who could no longer justify the restriction, but I cannot tell if the aircraft have actually reached the area yet. At least you can see them where you are.
The beetle damage from the extreme environmentalist forest mismanagement along with the restrictions on logging at the US Forest Service has been catastrophic for the western states:

Rhoda,
Using it would cost the USFS jobs and budget. Their interest is not in putting out fires but in milking them for all they’re worth. They’re hardly better than the seasonal fire fighters who work for them and start fires.
John,
I’m guessing that the supertanker has been contracted by California Forestry, not the USFS. Am I right?
Thanks.
Rhoda,
The state forest service has called in the Global Super Tankers. This is a little back ground on why they have done this:
“California’s drought and a bark beetle epidemic have caused the largest die-off of Sierra Nevada forests in modern history, raising fears that trees could come crashing down on people or fuel deadly wildfires that could wipe out mountain communities.
Aerial images show vast forests that have turned a rust-color. The epidemic has killed an estimated 40 million trees since 2010 in the central and southern Sierra, and it’s spreading north.”
Zeke, I’ve seen a pattern this year in the South Sierra of the USFS basically sitting on their heels for a week or two allowing fires to really get going. Reported on InciWeb with standard boiler plate about “positive values” etc. After reaching 5000 or so acres the communities in the Owens Valley and Kern Valley are getting smoked and basically pressure them into action. And after assembling 1000 or so fire fighters they put the damn fire out. But they could have put it out with 30 firefighters and a couple water drops in the first couple days. These fires have been at 7000 – 8000 feet elevation in relatively healthy forests. The fires on the Westside by Yosemite, those are in a different fuel class altogether.
I live in a high fire risk area in NSW. On a blistering hot day some years ago, when my wife had taken the visiting grandchildren to a safer place, and our neighbour and I had got all our own firefighting equipment out and ready, the neighbour noticed a narrow plume of smoke over the forest about half a mile directly upwind. One emergency call brought every vehicle the Fire Service could muster, including an aircraft, and the fire was put out in minutes and then a whole lot more watering was done just to make sure. The FS said that if they had arrived even a quarter of an hour later the fire could have been out of control.
Seems that the NSW Fire Service operates differently to the USFS.
Having debated those on the environmental left for decades the cartoon would be hilarious if it were not so true.
SOP for lib’s.
If you oppose an expensive and likely ineffective new pollution regulation, you must be opposed to clean air and water.
If you ridicule the AGC-driven alarmist hype of Harvey and Irma, you must not care about the victims.
Most of my family is in Irma’s path, and working in Houston, I was definitely concerned about Harvey.
I know I can ridicule the AGC-driven alarmist hype and still be very concerned about the people who have and will suffer great harm from these storms.
Oh sure . . next I suppose you’ll claim you’re not a fascist, but oppose antifa . .
The mass media sheeple herders have overplayed this name-game, I hope, David . .
I have friends in Irma’s path in Florida. I’m more concerned about their welfare than I am about the lame opinions of a bunch of brain-dead bimbos form Hollywood or any other place to the left of reality. There is no excuse for this attempt to feed off a weather event that threatens the lives and welfare of real people.
But I guess we can count on the lefties to be as graceless as possible, as always, right?
Gaia angry. Must sacrifice a coal-fired plant immediately. Just reach in and rip out its still-burning boiler.
The cat! Is that Schrödinger’s Cat?
Cant see it, being Schrodinger’s cat.
I can see it – well, half the time, anyway.
if they had just built a 100,000 sq km windmill farm off the Florida coast they could have reversed them and blown the hurricane away.
A delightfully good parody of the AGW fanatics! Love It!!!
An alarmists thread at one of my local papers is rather laughable.
maybe the cartoon should say: sign global warming treaties and hurricanes go around islands.
I can promise you that if the Congress and President were to pass a ‘carbon tax’ and send ALL of the proceeds to me … all of these hurricanes would go away.
Don’t believe me … just ask my wife Morgan Fairchild.
How do the two feminists fit in?
