EPA Head / Paris Agreement: “It’s something we need to exit in my opinion.”

EPA Chief Scott Pruitt Calls for ‘Exit’ of Paris Climate Agreement

by BEN KEW 14 Apr 20174273

The head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Scott Pruitt, has called for America to “exit” the Paris Climate Agreement signed by Barack Obama last November.

In an interview with FOX and Friends, Pruitt said that “Paris [agreement] is something that we need to really look at closely. It’s something we need to exit in my opinion.

“It’s a bad deal for America,” he continued. “It was an America second, third, or fourth kind of approach. China and India had no obligations under the agreement until 2030. We front-loaded all of our costs.”

On Thursday, Energy Secretary Rick Perry confirmed that his department is conducting a review of all energy policy, adding that it was “the right to do.”

Video of the Fox News interview is available here

Pruitt opposes the Paris Agreement. Perry opposes the Paris Agreement. The Paris Agreement is bad for America, bad for the entire world.

Time to act on your campaign promise, Mr. President.

UPDATE (EW): Politico reports Trump Officials will meet next Tuesday, to hammer out a decision on what to do about the Paris Agreement.

But once that happens, the agenda is expanded. Because the greens aren’t just about “the environment”; this is about ideologies and certain types of personality disorders. Not sure which one causes the other (maybe it’s both).

Seriously?
The leftist eunichs we have elected are too busy destroying both the Australian economy and Western civilization.
They literally dynamited power stations; thus ensuring they could never be started again. This despite the fact “renewables” have repeatedly brought South Australia to its knees. Then they forced the closure of Hazelwood, which was supplying 25% of Victoria’s electricity.
These are all acts of ideologically driven malice; they are out and out evil.
And you think they will pull out of the Paris agreement?

Eric Worrall:

I copy to here a post I made on another thread.

It is reported that Pruitt accurately observed about the Paris Accord

China and India had no obligations under the agreement until 2030. We front-loaded all of our costs.

Yes, but he failed to state that China and India are not obliged to any “costs” because intentions for 2030 are meaningless: 5-year plans are possible but longer plans are not because circumstances change with time.

Politicians agreeing to action in 2030 are agreeing to do nothing except provide pious words.

China promises to continue unbridled growth for the next decade and a half, and then maybe hold at that level, assuming the west hasn’t wised up and dropped this madness be then, all the while harassing America that it needs to ‘do more to prevent Climate Change’.

Are they digging up the roads and throwing people out of their homes in order to concentrate the cities yet?

See my blog. https://thedemiseofchristchurch.com/2012/11/29/hello-world/?iframe=true&theme_preview=true

On top of all the things mentioned in the above post, our very smart government has also forced at least two owners of commercial buildings in the CBD to reliquish them to the local government. It is not known what sort of money was involved – except it was rate paters money – but it is relevant to note that one building was a brand new replacement of a building fataly damaged in the earthquakes – presumably and insurance job handled by the owner and the other was an extensive repair, also presumably a private insurance claim.

The story is that these perfectly good multi story commercial buildings are to be demolished to make way for the government’s sustainable city plan.
In fact the former one mentioned above appears to have been already demolished and the other is at the moment vacated, presumably waiting the same fate.

And the CBD still looks like a total demolition site with a few finished buildings in some areas and a lot of work in progress in others.

And here is another attack on private property! All in the name of resilience and sustainabity!

Actually I went into central Christchurch yesterday Saturday 15th.
There is a lot of work going on. There are many large buildings already erected.
trees are planted along widened roads with wide footpaths even in the centre.
Most of the rebuild and the demolition beforehand was delayed by a year or two of major earthquakes. Building while an earthquake is likely is too hazardous and buildings and repairs are damaged by further tremors. Often repaired buildings became so damaged that they had to be demolished,http://www.canterburyquakelive.co.nz/

The current buildings are being built to a high standard which will resist complete demolition in a larger earthquake though there is likely to be an exceptionally large quake on the Alpine Fault. and I think that will be ruinous, however I’m not an architect or builder. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/91564876/alpine-fault-shake-in-canterbury-could-be-higher-intensity-than-previously-thought
Yet the news media and even church leaders mostly concentrate on sea level rise and ‘climate change’
Non so blind as them that will not see.

For those who accessed the Christchurch Earthquake recovery plan you may have seen this paragraph on page 26.
Doing a general search for the word “sustainability” in this document will yield further similar gems.

“Sustainability
Over the long term, greater Christchurch
has a unique opportunity to redevelop
the city so that it is resilient to
environmental, social and economic
changes that may affect future
generations.
Greater Christchurch can expect more
droughts and floods and a rising sea
level due to the changing climate. Energy
costs will increase the demand for
efficient energy and transport systems.
New technologies and competition for
global resources and talent will reshape
the way business is done.”

This is why I think that our government has embraced the “sustainability” BS completely and is prepared to demolish new and perfectly functional high rise buildings to attain its objectives.
The earthquake is only an excuse and I believe many more commercial and residential buildings have already met the fate of the buildings I mentioned in my comment.

Cheers

The stakes are higher than US and Paris agreement only: it’s about planned economy, which is a failure. Proven with several, real time experiments at societal scale in the human history. No need for further testing.

The wellbeing of biosphere and fundamental rights come first. Taxpayers and consumers know better how their cash should be used.

Therefore, if the US manages to bury cAGW globally while the latest idea in Europe still imposes a new car procurement every <10 years, my next will be Ford Mustang.

And the 4 cyl eco nonsense will use MORE fuel. It’s the same fallacy deployed in the 1970’s fuel shortages that forced car makers to build smaller and smaller cars with smaller and smaller engines. This all before emission standards, which needed larger engines, which, with electronic systems, were more fuel efficient and cleaner.

Our leaders were willing to send all the manufacturing to China because they thought we were moving to the knowledge economy. The new jobs for knowledge workers would replace the manufacturing jobs and everyone would be better off.

The result of sending the manufacturing jobs to China was the rust belt. There were lots of workers who weren’t able to take up the supposed new knowledge jobs.

The folks-who-know-better-than-us have replaced the knowledge economy with the innovation economy. There are innovation incubators popping up everywhere. I suppose that some folks will use the innovation economy to ditch more of the old economy.

Many people have come to their senses and realized that maintainers are more important than innovators.

“The vast majority of technologies that surround us and underpin our lives are not innovations,” Vinsel says. “And the vast majority of labor in our culture is not focused on introducing or adopting new things, but on keeping things going.”

The knowledge economy was a pig in a poke. Many Americans have suffered as a result and President Trump was able to take advantage of that to get elected. I pray that he will bring us back to sanity.

He’s making a good start by cancelling H1-B visas for entry level workers. We’ve got lots of our own college graduates to fill entry level jobs. link

I hope we exit this Paris agreement ASAP.

I visited a middle school science classroom last week. It was a private school. I was horrified at all the CO2 myths delivered in one lesson and the lesson was on the planets of the solar system and not on climate.

It started with the myth that Venus was so hot due to a “runaway greenhouse effect”. Then came a short review of how CO2 “traps heat” and how mankind is turning the planet earth into another Venus. There was no mention of the much higher density of the atmosphere on the planet Venus.

I think that the warmers and the luke-warmers have won. Mankind will spend years arguing about how much CO2 warms the planet and simply take it on faith that it does. This might end when the next “little ice age” comes as it will some day.

The public schools are even worse of course — they have dedicated curriculum that teaches of the evil of CO2.

I would not doubt that someday the feds will decide to control cats and dogs since they breath out so much CO2.

Just to demonstrate the scope of the CAGW delusion, I read an article about Venus in Astronomy magazine a few months ago, and in the first paragraph it stated that Venus was exceptionally hot because of all the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Although, in the title of the article, it said they were still trying to understand why Venus was so hot. So, a little bit of confusion at Astronomy magazine.

But when you have Astronomy magazine claiming CO2 is causing the heat on Venus, you can’t blame a lot of teachers for saying the same thing. Teachers have to defy all our society’s authority figures to go against the CAGW narrative.

Of course, now, we have an authority figure, the highest authority figure, the president, that does not believe in the CAGW narrative. So we shall see.

Trump promised to apologize if wrong. (He is not wrong on exiting the Paris Climate Agreement)

“I will absolutely apologize sometime in the hopefully distant future if I’m ever wrong.” [New York, NY, NBC Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, 9/11/15]

Trump promised not to make crazy comments as president.

“BARTIROMO: So, in that vein, I mean, do you think sometimes that maybe you need to pull in some of the comments, some of the rhetoric that so many people talk about? For example, this weekend, at your campaign stop, you said, ‘I could literally go on Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and not lose support.’ Do you want to rein that — would you say things like that if you were — TRUMP: As a president I wouldn’t, no. As a president, I wouldn’t; but as a campaigner, running against, you know, I had 17 people total.” [FBN, Mornings with Maria, 1/26/16]

Oh, they always say that kind of stuff. I’m betting the ISIS fighters stay out of cave complexes in the future. That’s an easy target when you have big bombs. The concussion of the blast alone would have killed everyone inside.

“But you’re mostly right–I can’t think of too many reversals except President Trump failing to label China a currency manipulator on day one, but if President Xi will help clear the Korean Peninsula of nuclear weapons and insane leaders, currency labeling can certainly wait.”

Well, the reason Trump did not label China a currency manipulator is because they are not one at the present time. I heard a pundit on Fox News the other day say the Chinese stopped manipulating their currency back in November, after Trump was elected.

But he didn’t. On Monday, he caved in and issued a new travel ban designed to appease the judiciary.”

Trump filed a new EO which is going through the courts. This is not a policy change. Trump is still attempting to ban unvettable people from the Middle East from entering the U.S.

Reason: “Ask the Chinese. Shortly after he was elected, he took a call from the president of Taiwan, in defiance of the long-standing U.S. policy of recognizing only one China. Then, when the Beijing government took offense, he snapped back on Twitter, asking, “Did China ask us if it was OK to devalue their currency?”

That sounds like the Donald I voted for.

Reason: “Conservatives applauded his manly bravado. Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton said Trump was alerting the Chinese that “nobody in Beijing gets to dictate who we talk to.”

I agree with Bolton and Trump.

Reason: Actually, somebody in Beijing does. His name is Xi Jinping. He’s the president of China, and he refused to speak with Trump on the phone until he agreed to eat his words. As China’s government media reported, Trump tamely assured Xi that “the U.S. government adheres to the One China policy.”

Don’t you love the source Reason uses: China’s government media”. No, they wouldn’t slant the truth would they. And Trump didn’t eat any of his words. Trump never said he disagreed with the One China policy. All he did was talk to the president of Taiwan, a government with which the U.S. has strategic interests both military and economic.

Reason: “The surrender came as no surprise to anyone who watched him during the campaign, or after. After months of promising his supporters that he would build a border wall at Mexico’s expense, he paid a visit to President Enrique Pena Nieto in Mexico City and, at a news conference afterward, admitted he didn’t even raise the topic: “We didn’t discuss payment of the wall.”

In fact, Pena Nieto said later that during their session, he informed his guest that Mexico would not pay for it. Only when he was safely back across the Rio Grande did Trump dare to repeat that our neighbor will foot the bill.”

Trump doesn’t have to have Mexico’s agreement to pay for the wall. The first method Trump said he would use to pay for the wall was to reduce the trade deficit with Mexico which amounts to about $50 billion per year. The wall is estimated to cost around $15 billion, so if Trump reduces the trade deficit with Mexico by half, or $25 billion per year, then Trump has more than paid for the wall. Trump is already paying for the wall now with his stand on illegal aliens crossing our borders. His tough stance has already reduced border crossing by 70 percent even without a wall. Keeping that up will prevent the American taxpayers from having to pay out billions of dollars in welfare and other payments to illegals coming into this country. Trump has about a dozen different ways to make Mexico pay for the wall, and Mexico can’t stop him from implementing any of them, so why even discuss it with the Mexican president? Trump didn’t want to embarrass him by talking about a wall.

Reason: “During his second debate with Hillary Clinton, Trump informed her, “If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation, because there has never been so many lies, so much deception.” He hasn’t.”

It’s early. 🙂 I think Trump would prefer to get Hillary through a Congressional investigation. He’s working on it now. He may get Hillary and Obama both through Congressional investigations.

Reason: “After his boast about grabbing women by the genitals came out on video,

Trump didn’t really say he actually grabbed anyone, he just said he could if he wanted to because he was a celebrity and the idiot with him agreed. Lockerroom braggadocio.

Reason: “several women came forward to accuse him of groping or kissing them without their consent. He denied it and announced, “All of these liars will be sued after the election is over.” When is that lawsuit going to be filed?”

He probably feels sorry for them, now that he has won election. Many of the supposed victims denied Trump groped them, and were not victims of Trump but of the lying MSM who misrepresented what happened. And then there were some who claimed Trump groped them, who then recanted. Most of the women were put forward by the Democrats in a smear campaign, although Trump certainly gave them the ammunition. No firm accusations were ever proven.

Reason: “On torture, NATO, seizing Iraq’s oil and the Iranian nuclear deal, Trump’s Cabinet officers have contradicted him—and he has let them. When confronted by people with sturdy backbones, Trump has real trouble backing up his fierce words. And he is finding it harder to intimidate political opponents and foreign leaders than he expected.”

It doesn’t look like Trump is having any trouble intimidating his oppoennts, to me. NATO is falling all over itself trying to accomodate Trump. Which is just what he wanted them to do.

This Reason article is much ado about nothing.

What TA doesn’t understand is that the US Treasury does not get a single dollar in if the trade deficit goes down, and does not lose a single dollar if the trade deficit goes up. So, how is the US Treasury going to get the $$$ to pay for the wall if the trade deficit is reduced?

Well, reduced trade deficits mean increased economic activity for American companies and when American companies make more money, they pay more in taxes.

The way our leftwing Judiciary is going, they might just find something that applies. They managed to completely ignore the relevant law when deciding on Trump’s immigration exclusion order, so there’s no reason they can’t ignore the law in the future and just make it up like they did there.

Trump will get to appoint about 100 lower Court Justices, so the situation will slowly get a little better.

And I think Congress should seek to impeach Federal Judges who ignore the law and make rulings on completely irrelevant aspects of other laws, like Trump’s Washington State and Hawaii judges did. I wouldn’t want either one of these guys associated with a trial I was invovled with. They couldn’t find the relevant laws.

“Here are 282 campaign promises”

I’m not going to wade through all those. If someone has a specific criticism of Trump and his supposed reversal of policy, please state it.

I’ve heard a few examples from the MSM like the Import/Export Bank which Trump once called “featherbedding” and expressed doubts about it, but now Trump is going to reauthorize it and the MSM is calling this a flip/flop. But if you examine it more closely, it is another win for Trump.

I heard a member of Congress give a presentation on the Import/Export Bank a few days ago, and after hearing what he had to say, I was pretty impressed. Although I haven’t heard the other side of the argument. So it looks like the Import/Export Bank has some benefits to it, but it may also waste some money, so what does Trump do? Why Trump is going to appoint the congressman who is the biggest critic of the Import/Export Bank to be in charge of it!

So Trump is going to let the Import/Export Bank do the good things it can do for the U.S. and U.S. jobs, and he is putting a fierce watchdog in charge of it to keep any money from being wasted. Winning!

The MSM is critical of this move. They are really stretching trying to pin something, anything on Trump. They are desperate. They are dangerous, because they deceive the people of the world into believing things which are not true.

just one of the countries ignoring the Agreement:

15 Apr: Irish Times: Henry McGee: Ireland closer to Trump on climate change than it thinks
What is more worrying is that after 2020, when emissions should be on a steep downward curve, the EPA is predicting they will actually increase in most areas. The two most dominant sectors (outside the emissions trading schemes) are agriculture and transport. With a growing economy, both are expected to increase…

Denis Naughten, in an opinion piece for The Irish Times, has blamed the failure to meet targets on two factors. The first is the recession…

The second factor, he says, is the target agreed to by the Irish Government in 2009. He suggests a target of reducing emissions by 20 per cent against 2005 levels is ridiculous, arguing a 7 per cent target would be more realistic.
It is an extraordinary attack. Naughten claims the deal struck by the Greens was disastrous for the State and will cost the economy billions…

There is one unpalatable reality about meeting the targets…it will mean sacrifices and inconveniences, both in lifestyle and wealth. It’s a really hard thing to sell to a population: that everybody must live more modestly…
And Ireland is caught between two competing ambitions, which are (right now) irreconcilable. One is economic growth. The other is the climate change obligations imposed on the State by the EU, and more latterly by the Paris Accord…

***Naughten has expressed befuddlement at those who criticise him for seeking more scientific evidence and reports…

Next week is the divided WH meeting regarding Paris and the pro-globalist climate people such as Kushner and Tillerson will support Paris as well. It could be the most important decision of the Trump Presidency on climate as Paris respresent the Soviet model of science authority over the world and the US.

Of course pro-climate/AGW activists are completely organized while skeptics remain in total disunity. Sad.

The Bannon wing needs support it’s that simple. A major reason for electing Trump is now on the agenda next week yet the WH is filled with establishment trolls. You can hope for the best but actual skeptics as a political community FAILED yet again as each group remained entrenched in nuanced enclaves while the CONSENSUS maintained its position.

If globalists prevail on Paris it permanently preserves the AGW moral authority argument long after Trump and all reforms under Trump will be purged. While Trump has shown many positives a full assault on reforming the academic and global alliance of the fake/political science authority movement has been piece meal and slow. Where are the climate “science” skeptics standing outside the WH with large petitions denouncing not just Paris but the entire Climate authority movement?

Trillions of dollars depend on the climate fraud narrative. Can the policy be reversed without a huge economic shock? Then think about what left-wing social structures are going through, they are on a North Korean heard mentality in many sections. The Greenshirt narrative just isn’t going to reform itself or without huge costs.

I’m glad Pruitt said it but Trump has to put up and withdraw from Paris as he said he would before the “open mind” equivocation. If he retreats he might as well resign because it’s over as far as the core people who voted for him.

““U-turns? What U-turns?”
..
“On day one of a Trump administration, the US Treasury Department will designate China a currency manipulator,”

Well, in case you hadn’t noticed, China stopped manipulating their currency back in November after Trump got elected, so it would be kind of stupid for Trump to proclaim them a currency manipulator when they are not manipulating their currency, and it would be equally stupid for others to claim Trump has reversed himself on this subject if the Chinese are no longer manipulating their currency.

What is Trump’s goal with China? To harangue them? Or to get them to cooperate? It’s to get them to cooperate. He harangued them during the election about their currency manipulations, Trump got elected, the Chinese stopped their manipulation, and Trump got his cooperation and has no need to call China a currency manipulator.

Get it now? If you don’t, you are not alone, there are a whole lot of easlily imfluenced people out there buying into the MSM’s lies. This lie and the one about Trump reversing himself on NATO have gotten to the point of becoming accepted “truth” because the MSM has repeated these lies so often. Even Fox News hosts are repeating this lie. This false reality phenomenon of turning a lie into the “truth” is happening right in front of your eyes. Can you see it?

Trump’s detractors say he flip-flopped on his position on NATO. Here’s the real story: In order to understand Trump, you should probably read his book, “The Art of the Deal”. If you did, you would see that this NATO gambit of Trump’s is a classic tactic he uses.

Trump is not a stupid man. He knows NATO is vital to our and European security, but he saw they were getting lackadasical about dealing with their homegrown terrorism, and he saw they were shortchanging NATO’a defenses because most of the NATO nations were not meeting their obligations to spend two percent of their GDP on NATO defenses.

Trump says when you want to make a deal, the first thing you have to do is be able to walk away from the deal if it does not meet your requirements. And he doesn’t mean he just has to be ready in his own mind to walk, he means he wants the people he is dealing with to know that if they don’t make him happy in the deal, he’s walking out the door.

So what does Trump do with NATO? He starts off by saying they are obsolete and not taking terrorism or financing of NATO seriously, and he’s not sure he’s going to go along with this kind of situation. Well, the Europeans and a lot of whimpy Americans were just horrified at Trump’s statements. The uproar was loud.

But what did Trump get? Trump now has NATO nations putting new emphasis on terrorism, and promising to meet their financial obligations. Just what Trump wanted from them. The art of the deal.

Now Trump says NATO is no longer obsolete (because they are doing what he wants), and the MSM and his other political enemies say Trump has flip-flopped. Do you see how silly and wrong these people are?

Susequently, Trump has had his Secretary of State and his UN Ambassador read the riot act to Putin about his landgrabs in Eastern Europe, and Trump has moved an American military unit, in conjunction with other NATO allies into Poland where they will be permanently stationed at the point of any possible Russian attack into Poland. Eastern Poland is not the frontier of NATO. The Polish people couldn’t be happier with Trump.

Trump is playing hardball with the Russians. And with China, and with North Korea and with Syria and with Iran. It’s about time an American president played hardball. If you don’t play hardball, then the evil doers of the world will walk right over you.

The Trump administration should lower the boom on the Paris Climate Agreement by vowing to have no part in any of it, on the grounds that it was only implemented by a previous president by executive order. It was never ratified or agreed to by Congress or the Senate. And the courts should have nothing to say in Trump dumping the Paris Climate Agreement by his Executive Order to do so. Just say No!

Furthermore, Trump should be demanding to see hard science on the physics of CO2 radiative forcing as it pertains to this wacko idea that CO2 is now the principal force driving climate. The truth is that the radiative forcing from additional human caused CO2 only causes minute warming to the atmosphere or the earth/ocean, and is well within the margin of error of any natural forcing. This will all happen within 5-10 years anyway when the temperature doesn’t go up in lockstep with this trace invisible gas at 4/10 of 1% of the atmosphere. He could save the planet a lot of cash burn for no real result by stalling the stupidity of the Paris Climate Agreement. If the USA doesn’t participate, Paris is dead on arrival and the rest of the world will have to give it up. That would be real leadership.

USA should stay in the Paris Agreement because my Chinese associates are looking forward to the money and so am I. One of the advantages of being close to China and operating in the pollution control industry. By the way we fight pollution not C02; however, the lack of distinction has been and will continue to be a financial bonanza for us. Our special thanks to ‘scientists’ and Australian taxpayers and hopefully now US taxpayers. Seriously it’s a great growing industry and a real opportunity for anyone looking for a rewarding and profitable career.

Let’s not forget that the Paris agreement is just that: an agreement, not a treaty. So if the various signatories fail to meet their commitments, they can simply shrug them off and promise to do better next time, and that’s if there will even be a next time. When certain countries see that time-after-time these climate deals accomplish next to nothing, they’ll stop even signing up for them, especially since the money pledged to them could go much further much more for domestic issues like healthcare, education, infrastructure, job creation, etc.

Ed, it’s just another step along the road….the road to globalist hell that is. The IPCC promised the best “science” and look at where agenda took them. Paris, like the entire climate agenda, is a blueprint for a global central planning state.

It’s the reason for grasping at fake science authority in the first place.

It’s an abomination where American sovereignty was surrendered as well without Senate approval. It’s everything Trump should despise and part of the reason (fairly large I would say) he was elected. You can’t stay in Paris on the one hand and reform junk science political culture domestically at the same time. Do you think Tesla and solar rent seekers are going to have their subsides eliminated if the moral science authority (fraud of course) of Paris is allowed to stand??

This is why it’s important to Pruitt, EPA greenshirts and climate hustlers can’t be reformed as Paris stands in validation of all the forces he’s trying to curtail. A total contradiction of policy and completely out of step with real reform. Climate science as an actionable policy support is contrived and abusive on the face of it and that should be the administrations go to position.

Where is the skeptic science team on the lawn of the WH? I don’t see them, a very bad sign of where it’s going. Tesla near 50 billion market cap, all-time high, the money indicators spitting in skeptic faces and telling you they think Trump will sell them out. It’s an easy sell out since “jobs”, even fraud funded windmills and solar shtick as well as luxury cars at $7500 per car federal subside “jobs” are better then recession. He supports the corrupt, idiotic corn subsides (ethanol) as well which losses net energy in the process as just one of many vices. That can survive under the alliance of “energy self-sufficiency” for the US as it was the 70’s rationalization. It might be the survival model for many crony green industries if Climate Science gets crushed as it should. Ethanol is miserable but Climate is 1000x horrible in comparison long-term.

Look at the bright side. Although probably $9 of $10 spent by the UN is lost to theft and corruption, compared to the DC to theft and corruption it is not very much.

Just change the name of it to the Paris Misunderstanding or the Paris White House Tango.

Trump should just submit it for ratification by the Senate, recommending they turn it down, and then, oops, the Senate said no, and only the Senate can bind the USA.

“It’s something we need to exit in my opinion.”

Thank heavens! For a while there we thought he might have ‘gone commie’ on us:

See this earlier comment concerning James Delingpole’s fears: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2017/04/14/epa-head-paris-agreement-its-something-we-need-to-exit-in-my-opinion/#comment-2476797

What is worrying, though, is what he has not said:

– that he will be recommending it to President Trump; and
– that although he has cited economic reasons for it, he has not labelled it as junk science or ideology masquerading as science.

Just as worrying is the expression ‘in my opinion’, which is totally out of place. Is he saying ‘this is just me but it is not Trump administration policy’?

The Trump administration is LITERALLY the last hope for the world. ‘Conservative’ governments in every other Western country have been too scared, too incompetent or too self-serving to roll back the Left’s agenda.

“The Trump administration is LITERALLY the last hope for the world.”

I don’t think that is overstating it too much, either. It’s serious.
