Guest essay by Eric Worrall

The Guardian is worried that if Donald Trump is elected as US President, he will reject demands for climate action which are supported by tyrants, war criminals and genocidal maniacs.

Donald Trump would be world’s only national leader to reject climate science

Sierra Club report finds science of climate change accepted by leaders of every country recognized by US – including Bashar al-Assad and Kim Jong-un.

Donald Trump would be the only national leader in the world to dismiss the science of climate change should he become president, putting him out of step even with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe and Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea.

The potential isolation of the US on climate change has been laid bare by a new Sierra Club report which found universal acceptance of climate science among the leaders of the 195 countries recognized by the US state department.

Close US allies such as Britain, Israel, Canada and France all have heads of government who have voiced their understanding that the world is warming primarily due to human activities.

Even totalitarian or undemocratic leaders accept mainstream climate science, with Assad calling for nations to “respond more effectively” to the issue and Kim supporting a tree-planting initiative to mitigate greenhouse gases. The Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe, has labelled climate change a “major global challenge”.

By contrast, Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has called global warming “bullshit” and a “hoax” that was “created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing noncompetitive”.

Who could fail to be moved by the Guardian and the Sierra Club’s effort, to gather such a list of climate action endorsements from the world’s bad guys.

Another reason to vote for Trump, besides the fact he is not Hillary Clinton.

Unfortunately, the main reason to vote for Hillary is that she is no Donald Trump.

Jeff, that’s the way it was in the US for the past 40+ years …… but Donald Trump put a stop to that noise when he announced his 2016 run for POTUS.
That is why both the Democrat and Republican long-time “establishments” are highly pissed and irate about Trump winning the Primary ….. and are scared to death that he will win the General election.

For Jeff in Calgary – I’m curious. So just WHAT is wrong with the people choosing their candidate? I’ve always been of the opinion that “parties” choose what’s best for the party, not for the country and surely not for the people. Canada is a perfect example.

Germany in the early 30’s had 34 political parties. The result, with a little help extorted from von Hindenburg, was the big A.H. becoming Chancellor. The latter subsequently whittled down the number of parties to one. More choices does not automatically result in a better outcome.

Bill Clinton was elected twice thanks to Ross Perot. In both elections most of the voters wanted somebody else.
You want a President Hillery? Vote third party.
(We we need for all Federal elections is a runoff election election between the top two vote getters if neither has over 50% of the vote. Then a third party vote wouldn’t be a wasted vote.)

Gunga Din,
It seems to me you are, unfortunately, essentially correct in this;
“You want a President Hillery? Vote third party.”
(I would add; or Mr.s Sanders or Biden, should Ms. Clinton for any reason cease to be a relevant choice . . )
One of the first real jokes I can remember hearing, involved a four engine plane losing engines one at a time, and the pilot coming on the intercom after each noisome malfunction, saying not to worry, the plane was made to fly safely with less than four . . then three, then even two, though the delay in getting to the destination kept going up and up each time . .
After the third announcement, a “blond” passenger (I’m a blond, in the summer anyway ; ) turns to her fellow passenger and says; *Two more hours! This is getting ridiculous . . if that last engine goes out, we’ll be up here all day!*
Corruption is like that plane, it seems to me . . and we won’t really have an infinite number of opportunities to “overcome” what to my mind is now a one engine affair.

I ain’t gonna lie – Donald Trump scares the hell out of me. But we’re getting into ‘Hail Mary’ territory on several fronts, and I could see where he could be effective.
He does, however, have a larger wall of institutional opposition set against him that has no parallel in recent memory – not just getting in elected, but aligned against him if he manages to get into office.
But what the hell – I say swing for the fence.

Two things the Sierra Club, et al, should consider: 1) things butchering despots say are not always true and only result in action if the action will hurt people, and 2) when there is a claim that “everyone” believes or thinks something, said claim is usually untrue.
Regardless, listen to your mother. If everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?

I read it as the opposite. Tony Abbott was very clear on climate science,as SkepticalScience.com explains:
As a climate denier, Tony Abbott is most famous for his statement that climate science is “absolute crap”. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg – he actually has a long history of denying climate change science. Skeptical Science have been steadily extending our database of climate myth quotes beyond just U.S. politicians and here is what we have so far from Tony Abbott.” [Lots more very positive info on Tony Abbott].

Vaclav Klaus was in the same camp. “The Competitive Enterprise Institute is proud to announce a provocative new book on environmental policy, Blue Planet in Green Shackles by Václav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic. President Klaus makes the case that policies being proposed to address global warming are not justified by current science and are, in fact, a dangerous threat to freedom and prosperity around the world[..]”. https://www.amazon.com/Planet-Green-Shackles-Vaclav-Klaus/dp/B001A3W3BK

Some of these leaders in the so-called “developing countries” are eying a portion of the Paris $100 billion per annum from us “developed countries” so no wonder they embrace CAGW. As long as GOP can maintain control of the Senate they can replace all the “Karl types” in the US Government (starting with NOAA and GISS) and replace them with real scientists and engineers. In NOAA they could start with some of Crutz’s Karl paper whistle blowers. Once the GISS and NOAA global surface temperature records have been sanitized from homogenization then maybe our new UK PM might be inclined to deal with The MET Office and CRU. We are moving into a La Nina and this is an ideal time for some straight action starting in January next year (I hope).

In the 1970-ties when the German “Gruenen”, the greens, were in the ascendent there was a scandal because it turned out that some of those candidates had a rather nasty war record, one of them even had been a high shot in the waffen SS.
The naive suggested that these people had seen the light and were now mending their ways, doing so by saving the world from itself. The more astute, however, realised that they had simply recognised the green movement for what it was: a totalitarian ideology in which they felt perfectly at home.

“The more astute, however, realised that they had simply recognised the green movement for what it was: a totalitarian ideology in which they felt perfectly at home.”
Or maybe they just stayed home:

The purpose of exploring Nazi environmentalism is not just to upset the greens. If environmentalism were a curious but peripheral aspect of National Socialism, it would be of no real historical interest. Environmentalists could be forgiven for saying, Ah well, it just goes to show, there’s a little bit of good in the worst of us. But environmentalist ideology was not an accidental, optional-extra to National Socialism. As we shall see, green ideas were at the core of Nazi thinking. The German Volk and Nazi movements marched beneath the banners of ‘Nature’ and the ‘organic’. However, what follows here is not simply a potted history of Nazi environmentalism. We friends of Syria are really getting tired of hearing this stupid term “Assad regime” and that this real and fully qualified eye doctor is a tyrant. He has been elected twice in the last four years, as his country has been under siege by terrorists illegally operating within its borders. There is an overwhelming body of forensic evidence that the whole proxy army invasion of Syria was planned long before 2011, mainly by the US, assisted by the UK, NATO and the Gulf States and this is also the case for Iraq and Libya. The George Soros-funded White Helmets, Human Rights Watch and other so called human right supporters, western governments, and their media and most of all by pseudo-leftists who bang on about how anti-imperialists and anti-war they are yet seem to have thrown their weight behind this western-sponsored coup. They lie about chemical weapons being used by the Syrian Army, when it is instead the terrorists who do these atrocities and also blame the Russians. Why these are the same people that we rail against in WUWT and indeed at one stage they said the war on Syria was brought on by climate change. What terrible propaganda.
All of the above mentioned are hell bent on the idea that what they refer to as the “Assad regime”, is this evil totalitarian oppressive dictatorship in which Assad is this big bad monster who has killed hundreds of thousands of people, drops barrel bombs on civilians, uses chemical weapons, starves people, tortures people and imprisons people and so are adamant that he has to go. We friends of Syria, Professor Tim Anderson of Sydney University, journalists like Eva Bartlet and Vanessa Beeley, have proven this constantly over the last 5 years, to the extent that the BBC has lied about the war, just as it lied about global warming.
When in reality, what the BBC, the ABC here in Australia, the MSNM are referring to is the legitimate government of Syria, which is the ruling Ba’ath party headed by president Bashar al-Assad, elected by the people and has the full support of the majority of Syrian people. This support is with the aim to defeat the hordes of western and gulf sponsored Wahhabi terrorists and other foreign mercenaries, who have been wreaking havoc in Syria for the last five years – ISIS, al-Qaeda, al-Nusra Front and others Syrians also hope that they will rebuild Syria. After so much damage has been inflicted with large swaths of infrastructure, towns, cities, historical and religious sites been damaged or destroyed as a result of the war brought on by the so-called Syrian opposition.
As most Syrians believe that the only way for the war to end, for all terrorists to be defeated and for Syria to return to being a stable independent nation is for Bashar al-Assad to remain in power.

“Donald Trump would be world’s only national leader to reject climate science.”
He may well be the world’s only national leader. Here in Australia we’re moving toward the trans-national model, like nearly everybody is doing. (Maybe we can get a cute PM like Trudeau!)
Soon we’ll just get the unions to nominate a Labor PM (restricting field to male union organisers, female teachers and any-gender lawyers, all of whom must be Marxists firmly committed to joining the Goldman Sachs board post politics) and Goldman Sachs to nominate a Liberal PM (restricting field to Goldman Sachs staff, past, present or guaranteed future).
Oh, and our Governor-General G-G to be someone trans (that word again!) who looks fab in military uniform. (Goldman Sachs background preferred.)
Of course, if trannie-nationalism should have a giant fail due to Italian debt or the Turco-German Empire going to war with the Russian one…we can just blame Trump!

July 13, 2016 10:14 am

Yes, Trump isn’t Mrs. Clinton and he doesn’t think CO2 is a problem. He seems to know how to get things done, and it looks like he doesn’t reject capitalism. I think he would be loyal to American interests. Other than that I haven’t a clue why any one would ever consider voting for him.

Here is food for thought. Climate is NOT global, it is local.
Hudson Bay is still roughly 50% ice covered today. The southern edge of the ice is about 2.5 degrees SOUTH of Fort McMurray where we have had unseasonably hot and an immense wild fire (allegedly human caused) that most of the world heard about requiring the evacuation of the whole town of 80,000 plus.
If the British Isles were in Hudson Bay, they would be nearly half covered by ice at the moment.
Scroll down this link to Canadian Ice map:
https://polarbearscience.com/2016/07/11/tracking-polar-bears-in-the-beaufort-sea-all-bears-on-the-ice-in-june/
Not a fair comparison due to the difference between sea ice and land but still food for thought.
Makes me wonder what the thousand “guests” on the Crystal Serenity Cruise through the Arctic this August/September escorted by a British Ice Breaker would think if they knew they were crapping on the Arctic:

Crystal Cruises said it would take special precautions to protect the environment. Both vessels would be burning cleaner, low-sulphur fuel and all rubbish would be taken away. Waste water would not be dumped within 12 miles of the shore.

Totally amazing.
I have it hard to think and believe that this really is about Trump……..he is not even a President yet,
But these dictators are already there and fully functioning.
I think this is more about a way to introduce these new cheerleaders and new shiny and sparkly celebrities in total support of the AGW “crusade”
Lew and company may consider this as a very effective psychological trick assisting and supporting the “crusade”.
But actually is only an action that shows the psychological problems that the “crusade” leaders are suffering due to exasperation and desperation under the circumstances.
These dictators would have been there ready and steady at any moment in past to support the “crusade” if allowed, simply due to their basic need of having a chance to sustain their regimes by been offered to dip their fingers in the AGW gravy,,,,,,, but you see the exasperation and desperation was not yet thick enough to contemplate such as situation.
Now that has being contemplated!
Now the AGWers are going to build an image of a global alliance supporting their “crusade” where the dictators are no villains anymore but the main cheerleaders and the most shiny celebrity “jewels” of the AGW movement.
Regardless if that actually means a direct support offered to these dictators and their regimes in exchange for their support to the AGW “crusade”.
In these terms AGW actually is a crusade, a modern time crusade……..
I for once will not be surprised at all if this keeps getting to grow and take a full form,,,,,,,very expectable under the conditions.
My “bet” is that North Korea will get to be the number one and the most shiny “jewel” in the “crown” of such an alliance…..
Sorry to all those who may find this disturbing…………..

Joseph P Kennedy is quoted as saying that he knew in 1929 that Wall Street was overly optimistic and a crash was on its way when he started to get stock tips from his shoeshine boy. We should know we’re getting BS when we get climate science from Robert Mugabe.
In recent years the title of worst government on the planet has passed back and forth between N. Korea and Zimbabwe. The main difference is the current Kim inherited most of the mess from his father, who in turn inherited most of his mess from his father, whereas Robert Mugabe has presided over the total ruination of Zimbabwe from the start.
I’ve always thought that Al Gore promoting global warming was enough reason to doubt it, but toss in Robert Mugabe as a believer and it’s a slam dunk certain path to ruin if you follow his advice.

Germany Votes To Abandon Most Green Energy Subsidies
Germany’s legislature voted Friday to sharply cut back on subsidies and other financial incentives supporting green energy due to the strain wind and solar power placed on the country’s electricity grid.
Germany’s wind and solar power systems have provided too much power at unpredictable times, which damaged the power grid and made the system vulnerable to blackouts. Grid operators paid companies $548 million to shutter turbines to fix the problem,

France is going to build an airport (the “Ayrautport”, built to please local politician Jean-Marc Ayrault and former prime sinister) under a “PPP” (partenariat public privé) scheme, which means the State doesn’t borrow money (to avoid having explicit debt) but will pay a rent to a private operator with has the debt (a silly and costly accounting trick, obviously). The State will have all the financial risk and the private operator will get all the benefits.
The 2 runways airport will be build in Notre-Dame-des-Landes and the environmentalists are extremely opposed to the project (for the protection for a triton, apparently). The region already has two underused airports and the project only makes sense if the new airport becomes a hub, assuming a very significant increase of air travel.
The prime sinister is pushing the project.
So who says France is anti-carbon? This is just word plays.

Václav Klaus is a Czech economist and politician who served as the second President of the Czech Republic from 2003 to 2013.
(…)
Klaus is a strong critic of the scientific consensus that global warming is anthropogenic. He has also called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change a group of politicized scientists with one-sided opinions and one-sided assignments. He has said that some other top-level politicians do not expose their doubts about global warming being anthropogenic because “a whip of political correctness strangles their voices.”

Monroe, a lot of what Trump says is distorted by the political opposition, so I hope you actually listen to Trump, rather than getting it secondhand. It might make a difference in how you look at him.
Admittedly, Trump does misspeak sometimes (mainly by not being specific enough on a subject), but none of his gaffs appear to be too serious, other than it allows his political opposition to distort his generalizations and make him look bad.
Like when his opponents were claiming Trump said ALL illegal Mexican immigrants were rapists, when Trump merely stated the truth that SOME illegal Mexican immigrants were rapists. Trump’s enemies want you to think he is after ALL Mexicans, when nothing could be further from the truth.
Trump is brand new to the game of politics, but he is learning fast, which I think is probably one of his best qualities: He seeks out expert advice and takes it. Trump got a contract one time, to rebuild New York City’s skating arena, which was falling into disrepair, and the first thing Trump did was seek out the best ice skate rink builder in the world, who he hired, and they rebuilt New York’s ice arena to be one of the best in the world. Trump doesn’t have to know everything, he just has to know who the experts are, and seek them out and listen to them. That’s what he will do.
Trump’s not perfect, but I think his heart is in the right place (I can hear the Lefties grumbling now), and I think he is entirely capable of carrying out what he says he wants to do: Make America Great Again.
Just about anyone would be better than Hillary Clinton. She scares me more than Obama does. If anyone was going to turn into a tyrant after assuming the power of the presidency, I would think it would be Hillary. Her whole history points in that direction.
Plus, Hillary gets away with her corruption, which will only encourage her to continue. I don’t know that a Republican Congress would do anything to stop her, just like they have done nothing to stop Obama.
