With thanks (or apologies) to Tim Rayment for borrowing his phrase ’50 shades of green’ from an article in the Sunday Times – it seems a wholly appropriate phrase to describe the torturing of the planet that greens go for.

Although I found the cartoon comical, it did not really hit home hard enough.
Greenpeace is such an ugly, deceiving and extremist organisation. The green equivalent, but without guns and bombs, of ISIL. Both organisations are consumed by hatred for all that is good in our world. By peddling misinformation and fear, their acolytes seek to drag those of us who survive their cleansing back into the miseries of medieval lifestyles

The green equivalent … of ISIL.

Indeed. The FBI agrees (ALF and ELF are BFF’s of Greenpeace):

Groups such as the ALF and the ELF present unique challenges. There is little if any hierarchal structure to such entities. Eco-terrorists are unlike traditional criminal enterprises which are often structured and organized.

I still find it errrmmm…”funny”…that “the greens” don’t get the fact this rock has a shelf life, a use by date, determined by the death of our sun and not by some “carbon footprint” sticker on a product in a shop. It’s not if, it’s when! We estimate a long time…and humans by then may have found a way to live off-world. So no matter what they “do” or “wish” to be “done” it will, one day, *BE* destroyed by the very source of all energy received, and stored, by this rock we live on, ie, “fossil” fuels.
I learnt this when I was eight.

Patrick MjD – Doubt it will be that long. Just wait till the third rock from the sun gets smoked by an errant asteroid or comet and current earth life forms experience a big EV (Extinction Event). Lots of life will survive. But humans dependent on technology and lost survival skills will be at great risk and probably be dug up by some future archaeologist from some other planet. Perhaps the next dominant species will be whales … or Groupers.

I notice that somebody has already added a slanted report of this affair on Happer’s wiki page. They don’t waste any time do they. Curiously, no mention that Greenpeace may have overstepped any legal boundaries.

It is amazing that with all the propaganda arms of the state that its minions can not convince the great unwashed masses that CO2 “will fry us all”. The state has the government funded “scientists”, the mainstream press, the government schools, the left-wing Hollywood products on TV and in the movies, the vast bureaucracy, Wikipedia, and so on. And yet this lie just will not sell and stay sold to most people. It is utterly amazing.
I wonder what most would say to this graph of temperatures.

Do you know WHY? It’s because regular working people, those who do something REAL in the world, OUTSIDE even, who actually experience Nature and get dirty and are out in the weather and see it first-hand, trust their own observations more than the hifalutin’ agenda of a bunch of overeducated “wonks.”
They’re NOT seeing the sea level rise, the snow go away, the deserts expand, islands sink, or any of the REST of this fictional crock of shit! The True Believers OTOH are from the ranks of the 4% or so of upper-middle-class social climbers who believe conspicuous “green” “social responsibility” gives them moral high ground to lord over everyone else. Singularly lacking in ANY experience beyond the theoretical, they are suckers for appeals to authority since they were carefully schooled never to think for themselves.
The facts stand on their own merit.

Says Robert of Ottowa:

I call this enviro-stalinism.

Particularly apt.

“Manmade Global Warming” is a collection of ideas that have been thoroughly discredited by real science for years. Yet you would never know it by observing the behavior of politicians, media personalities, and certain corrupt academics and scientists. There is not now, nor was there ever any scientifically respectable evidence for global warming. Like Lysenkoism, it is a complete and total fabrication, a hoax.
Yet it continues to have a strictly political life because, just as Lysenkoism served Stalinism by backing up Marx’s flawed notions — Global Warming serves today’s collectivists by offering them an excuse to seize control, not merely of the means of production, but of each moment, every aspect of the lives of every individual under their thumbs.
To be absolutely certain the opportunity isn’t missed, dissenters — meteorologists and others willing to dismiss Global Warming as the crock it happens to be — have found themselves intimidated, denied funding and tenure, even fired. Here and there you’ll even see demands that “climate change deniers” be prosecuted, imprisoned, or executed. Somewhere, the ghosts of Stalin and Lysenko are having a huge laugh together.

— L. Neil Smith (30 August 2009)

(I’ve quoted this passage from “Lysenko’s Revenge” [13 February 2011] before, but I do believe I’ll be quoting it episodically in future, too. Those not yet familiar with such writings are in need thereof, and those who’ve read it before either profit from reiteration or are afflicted thereby.)

True enough. As voters, they’re convinced that they’re powerless, primarily because the options permitted by the electoral system range from “shit” to “Shinola.”
However, as consumers confronting up-ratcheting bills for electricity, natural gas, heating oil, and the products dependent upon “fossil” fuels – i.e., effectively everything they need to live – the response is RAGE.
What las warmistas fear – and rightly so! – is that these consumers against whose lives, liberties, and property rights the alarmists scheme are being alerted and informed by “climate deniers” as to the fraudulence of the “We’re All Gonna Die!” catastrophism by virtue of which the common folk are being plundered.
Get them pissed off enough and – though they’re not to be feared as voters – they ARE wonderfully likely to seek “informal” redress of their grievances.
There are plenty of lampposts throughout these United States, and an abundance of rope in the marketplace.

I announce without further ado that such a system, after due prayer, I have devised. It is simple, it is unhackneyed, and I believe that it would work. It is divided into two halves. The first half takes the detection and punishment of the crimes of [government] jobholders away from courts of impeachment, congressional smelling committees, and all the other existing agencies — i.e., away from other jobholders — and vests it in the whole body of free citizens, male and female. The second half provides that any member of that body, having looked into the acts of a jobholder and found him delinquent, may punish him instantly and on the spot, and in any manner that seems appropriate and convenient — and that, in case this punishment involves physical damage to the jobholder, the ensuing inquiry by a grand jury or coroner shall confine itself strictly to the question of whether the jobholder deserved what he got. In other words, I propose that it shall be no longer malum in se for a citizen to pummel, cowhide, kick, gouge, cut, wound, bruise, maim, burn, club, bastinado, flay, or even lynch a [government] jobholder, and that it shall be malum prohibitum only to the extent that the punishment exceeds the jobholder’s deserts.

Yep. Sure does. See Wiki-bloody-pedia for a write-up provided by a speculative fiction fan familiar with both Mencken’s writings and that novel of McGuire’s and Piper’s.
Contemporary reviewers and readers have little or no appreciation of Mencken’s impact on that whole generation of American men of letters.

Every society rests on a barbarian base. The people who don’t understand civilization, and wouldn’t like it if they did. The hitchhikers. The people who create nothing, and who don’t appreciate what others have created for them, and who think civilization is something that just exists and that all they need to do is enjoy what they can understand of it — luxuries, a high living standard, and easy work for high pay. Responsibilities? Phooey! What do they have a government for?

“The biggest problem is voter ignorance/apathy.”

Actually the voters do understand some things and many are not apathetic. For example they know that when a politician says he’s going to do something good, he’s either lying or incredibly naive about what he can actually accomplish. That’s why negative political advertising works so well–the voters realize that their only real voting choice is which candidate is going to do less harm. Unfortunately the advertising strategists are often able to make the truly less harmful one look worse due to the limited knowledge and reasoning capabilities among the voters.

The Greens have attempted to use the Tobacco case against people and organizations which do not support their claims.
Perhaps the tables can be turned; use the type of Law suits that were used against the KKK. Go after Greenpeace and through it its’ very membership.
Include in the law suit each and every member from the greatest to the least. If someone sent a check and got a neat note back that they are “Now a Member of Greenpeace” than they are now included in the suit. Discovery process would include them. They would have to turn over bank records property info, bluebook estimates of their autos.
Make the membership aware that they can be held responsible for the excesses of the organization to which they belong and support.
Discover would first be Greenpeace’ mailing and membership lists.

I have a confession. I do root for Greenpeace when they try to stop Japanese Whaling. There is no point to taking whales. That has nothing to do with the climate scam, and everything to do with not killing intelligent mammals when the economic justications for the whale meat and oils is gone in today’s world.
So Greenpeace gets a lot of good PR from those anti-whaling efforts, PR that helps underwrite and subsidize their other less noble Climate CO2 scam activities. From that standpoint, Greenpeace needs Japanese whaling to continue so they have a visible enemy to foil.

Loggers are. And the FBI…

The FBI defines eco-terrorism as the use or threatened use of violence of a criminal nature against innocent victims or property by an environmentally-oriented, subnational group for environmental-political reasons, or aimed at an audience beyond the target, often of a symbolic nature. ***
Disaffected environmentalists, in 1980, formed a radical group called “Earth First!” and engaged in a series of protests and civil disobedience events. In 1984, however, members introduced “tree spiking” (insertion of metal or ceramic spikes in trees in an effort to damage saws)…

(Source: https://www.fbi.gov/news/testimony/the-threat-of-eco-terrorism/ )
When you “damage saws” of a logger, you imperil the life of that logger.

The illustration shows rising sea and a polar bear seeking refuge on the Capitol dome. Excerpts below. Content alert – Dr. Mann uses the “d”-word
The Assault on Climate Science
By MICHAEL E. MANN DEC. 8, 2015
State College, Pa. — WITH world leaders gathered in Paris to address climate change, most of the planet seems to have awakened to the reality that the Earth is warming and that we’re responsible.
[. . .]
And he recently started a congressional investigation into the finances of an environmental institute headed by a climate scientist who was a lead signatory of a letter suggesting that if fossil fuel companies knowingly misrepresented what they knew about climate change, they should be held accountable in the same way the tobacco industry was for hiding its knowledge about the health impacts of tobacco.
Unfortunately, this sort of harassment of climate scientists is nothing new, and Mr. Smith is not its only practitioner. In 2005, Joe L. Barton, a Texas Republican who was chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, sought all of my personal emails and notes because I had published a study with colleagues showing how the planet’s temperature had shot up after 1900.
[. . .]
While there is no doubt climate change is real and caused by humans, there is absolutely a debate to be had about the details of climate policy, and there are prominent Republicans participating constructively in that discourse. Let’s hear more from these sensible voices. And let’s end the McCarthy-like assault on science led by the Lamar Smiths of the world. Our nation is better than that.
Michael E. Mann directs the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University and is the author of “The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars: Dispatches From the Front Lines.”

Arnold “the terminator” is on Mann’s side. Does that mean that republicans who make their money through scientific fiction welcome in Mann’s world nature tricks?
