UGLY: Arnold Schwarzenegger's Gas Chamber Fantasy for Climate Skeptics

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Arnold Schwarzenegger has received over 100,000 likes, for a Facebook post about the alleged benefits of renewables, which included a fantasy about people who choose petrol powered cars spending an hour with the car of their choice, locked in a sealed room with the engine running, without a gas mask.

From Arnold’s post;

I don’t give a **** if we agree about climate change.

Renewable energy is great for the economy, and you don’t have to take my word for it. California has some of the most revolutionary environmental laws in the United States, we get 40% of our power from renewables, and we are 40% more energy efficient than the rest of the country. We were an early-adopter of a clean energy future.

Our economy has not suffered. In fact, our economy in California is growing faster than the U.S. economy. We lead the nation in manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, entertainment, high tech, biotech, and, of course, green tech.

There are two doors. Behind Door Number One is a completely sealed room, with a regular, gasoline-fueled car. Behind Door Number Two is an identical, completely sealed room, with an electric car. Both engines are running full blast.

I want you to pick a door to open, and enter the room and shut the door behind you. You have to stay in the room you choose for one hour. You cannot turn off the engine. You do not get a gas mask.

I’m guessing you chose the Door Number Two, with the electric car, right? Door number one is a fatal choice – who would ever want to breathe those fumes?

Read more: https://www.facebook.com/notes/arnold-schwarzenegger/i-dont-give-a-if-we-agree-about-climate-change/10153855713574658

Schwarzenegger is wrong about renewables being “great for the economy” – as WUWT reported back in May, the cost of energy in California is having a significant impact on jobs, and is contributing to decisions by many businesses to relocate to Texas. This has become such an issue, that Californian Democrats who represent poor, working class areas recently mutinied against Governor Brown’s efforts to introduce tougher CO2 emissions targets, and sided with Republicans to defeat the bill.

But its the fantasy about people being gassed which really bothers me. The green movement has a growing track record of utterly grotesque, even murderous fantasies, and hysterical calls for their opponents to be persecuted. It seems sad that someone of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stature felt a need to add to this perversity.

Note from Anthony:

It appears the great musclehead mind has confused Carbon Monoxide, and Carbon Dioxide, something I’m no stranger to via threat from one of my own local nuts eco-activists, Sherri Quammen: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/03/22/letters-i-get-letters/

Ahnold and Sherri, they are both of the same caliber of thought.

That’s a fact lost on most. Arnold is a “good looking guy”. That’s it. After watching his performances I’d agree he has talent.
Is he a person ready and able to take over control of California? Not it my opinion. But neither is Governor Moonbeam. These are our choices.
Why does that sour the stomach? And what about Governor Moonbeam?
It’s not in the cards. There is no “easy” way out of this mess. I surely wish there were, because I have no desire whatsoever to experience the inevitable consequence of indecision.

Because this sure looks like a case of the pot calling the kettle black. It appears he wants to gas the rest of us, leaving himself free to fly around in his private jet, without having to be bothered with the “little people”. The “Ultimate” solution. Not the first Austrian to propose this.

I think he is confusing installed name plate rating (“capacity”) and % of energy actually supplied. Assuming that after deducting broken, burning, derelict and badly located or disconnected windmills, the delivery is about 1/10th of nameplate. That brings the 40% and 4% into agreement.
If they get the same as the UK, then it is 5%. Yippie ding. The people who don’t know the difference between the rated capacity and actual output usually don’t know the difference between KW and KWH. Similarly the difference between form and substance escapes them. They see the windmill’s form and assume that is also its substance.

Labeling Schwarzenegger a “leftard” is a real stretch. Arnold was a two term “Republican” governor of California. Arnold used the term “Girlie men” to characterize democrats in the state legislature of California who opposed his conservative state budget proposals.
All throughout his career, Schwarzenegger credited President Ronald Reagan as a personal inspiration. Schwarzenegger once stated, “I became a citizen of the United States when [Reagan] was president, and he is the first president I voted for as an American citizen. He inspired me and made me even prouder to be a new American.”
The “leftard” label is just plain fantasy.
I am truly disappointed with all this hate filled dialogue displayed here at WUWT. It’s really low class.

The term “girlie men” is hate speech? LMAO. The term was coined in a series of Saturday Night Live comedy sketches in which Dana Carvey and Kevin Nealon played bodybuilders named Hans and Franz, large men with Austrian accents. Hans and Franz labeled their weak opponents “girlie men”. It was biting humor, not hate speech.

Bruce Cobb:
To answer your question: Arnold got to be Governor because Gov. Gray Davis was booted out by the voters in the middle of his term. There were about 25 candidates to fill the vacancy, and except for the clown Cruz Bustamante, the others were unknowns.
Arnold used his star power like other politicians use incumbency and name recognition. He won pretty easily. And that is how California got a moron Governor.

Gassing people with CO combined with Hansen’s Coal Trains of Death, chilling imagery.
We note here for historical interest that loading a school bus up with “defectives” and driving it around with the exhaust routed to the passenger compartment was a first attempt at the Final Solution.
The technique was discarded as wasteful of valuable motor fuel and a more economical source of a poison gas was sought.
I no longer doubt that there are people today who would load the opposition into the cattle cars.

If I used my 1992 Ford truck in that room I would be OK because the results of it’s last emissions test a month ago showed my truck had 0ppm of CO at idle. Aren’t catalytic converters wonderful. A member of my family was also confused about CO2 and CO. At Thanksgiving dinner I tried to correct his mistake but I don’t think I was entirely successful. I was trying to put down a rabbit last year. I got some advice from my family member who is a farmer. He told me that when he had to put down cats, he would put them in their carrying cage in a cardboard box attached to the tail pipe of his truck. The animal would just go to sleep from the CO1 in a very humane manner. When I tired it with my rabbit, it didn’t. After an hour it was totally fine and happy (other then the sickness which is why I was putting it down). My car had almost no CO1. I ended up having to spring $150 to have the vet do it, it a much less humane way (injection in a ‘scary’ clinic).
Arnalds theory would only work if the car actually used all the O2 in the room.

There are MANY of us (I think it is most, but, I don’t have enough data, heh) on WUWT who distinguish Germans (and Japanese) per se from N@z1s and r@cist / Imperialist Japanese (past and present — in whatever country their ilk occupy). One of my best friends is a German woman. The only prejudice I have about Germans (at least I’m conscious of it!) is that they tend to take literally what is intended to be sarcastic humor. I like their earnestness, though. And I have positive prejudices, too: they make loyal friends; they try very hard to do a good job at whatever they are doing; and they love dogs and natural beauty and beautiful music.
Your heritage is a fine one: great music, great science, and … (ahem) not food in general (imo), but! great BAKED goods (smile) and more came to the world thanks to Germans.
And many of those great Germans were JEWS, I hasten to add (just for the benefit of all the anti-Sem1tes out there).
Glad you are here!
And I LIKE YOUR NAME — yes, indeed: where would millions of us be if Jesus had given up on us?
Merry Christmas!! (and Happy Hannukah — day 2 today) — and nobody cares about Kwanzaahahahah (that has NOTHING to do with being of African heritage btw — most African-Americans think Kwaaaanzuuuuh is ridiculous)!

P.S. Pipe up more often. Your anomalous family background (well, you know what I mean by “anomalous” I think?) give you a perspective on some issues which most of us do not have. Share!

Au contraire Janice (about Kwanzaa)
Kwanzaa is a version of the word Incwala which is the first fruits celebration held in SE Southern Africa including Swaziland where it is a huge deal. The nation gathers at Lobamba and dances with the royal family, which hosts it. No loafing around – everyone there participates, tens of thousands of them. Bring a straight stick with no knob on the end as it is essential to the dancing.
Incwala is a SiSwati word and the ‘c’ is a *click*. I cringe when I give this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swaziland because it has so many errors – it can’t even get the head of the nation right (it says ‘king’ but in reality it is his mother the ‘Indlovukati’ (She-Elephant). Anyway…
It says, “…ncwala, the kingship dance held in December/January…” It is not a ‘kingship dance’. Don’t use the BBC for your information, I say, but anyway there it is – at least one link confirming that the ceremony, which was common to all Bantu peoples from Uganda down to South Africa did indeed exist and carries on ins some quarters. It is quite possible it can fall on Christmas day.
The ceremony thanks the Creator for the first of the new crop and the end of the most deprived period of food insecurity between October and December. The ceremony is held sometime between the third week of December and the first week of January, according to the moon, i.e. the timing is lunar. During this period the Ngwenyama (called the king in English) goes into seclusion for a month to retire from the world and follow the incantations of old. His father Sobhuza II had all these ceremonies documented in great detail in the 1930’s by an anthropologist in order that they not be lost.
Kwanzaa is probably spelled Kwanza in most transliterations, having a quite ordinary pronunciation: kwAn-zah. The addition of the click in Incwala or Ncwala is because of the adoption centuries ago of a number of sounds from the San people through marriage and mingling.

However, in the U.S., Kwanzaa is mostly just mocked. It has become P.C. in December to wish a “Happy this” and a “Happy that.” I guess you would have to grow up and live most of your life in the U.S. to get why we laugh about it.

Perhaps. But even if we had a tube from the exhaust that somehow removed just all CO, the CO2 would build up until the oxygen was reduced to 15% from 21% and the car would stop running. Humans cannot be too active in an atmosphere of 15% oxygen and huge amounts of CO2.

I hear that car’s cataclysmic convertors oxidize CO so well that you can’t die of carbon monoxide poisoning from them. From a tailpipe test on my car, the machine reported 0.0% CO, IIRC. While there could still be quite a bit of CO, it would get oxidized in the next trip through the engine and convertor.
However, death by lack of oxygen is just as fatal.

My dumb phone tries to “help” me (thanks a lot, PHONE — not) all the time. Told someone to head up “Hey 101” {Hwy should be “hey” you know}…. almost (whew!) signed my name “James”… who knows what I’ve written that I DIDN’T catch … . People understand how catalytic convertors get “corrected” to cataclysmic. Say, that shows that you have used a LOT of sophisticated words on that phone! Death by carbon monoxide is exactly death by lack of oxygen. Painless, by the way.
Death by thermal runaway of the electric car batteries would be a different story.

Mike M – good point. Without cooling the motor would overheat and either seize (invalidating the experiment) or explode and take the batteries with it. It is very easy to set off a lithium ion battery with one piece of shrapnel.
People in cars in garages die from CO2 overload. They turn pink from the CO but the vast majority of the emissions are CO2 and water vapour.

I worked for a company called EDS here in Australia. It was taken over (Sold out to) Hewlett Packard in 2009. Many many people were made redundant. One guy, who is famed for devising the school zone speed signs for roads, sat in his car in the carpark and tried to unburden himself with the engine on. Of course medical staff were called and the building was in lockdown. He is “Ok” as far as I know.

@Crispin
That is absolutely false, people die of CO poisoning when running a car in a garage.
@Ric Werme
When O2 drops a little bit, it reduces the efficiency of the car increasing CO output beyond what the catalytic converter can deal with.
@ Mike McMillan
“Death by carbon monoxide is exactly death by lack of oxygen. ”
But by completely different mechanism. CO in the blood stream displaces oxygen in binding to blood cells. So CO is magnitudes of order more dangerous than CO2. But in nature, it reacts quickly so it does not build up. Unlike a garage.

Well, that’s when you play it smart and bring 50 or so pothos with you to scrub and oxygenate the air with. Pothos are great at that even with little to no direct sun lighting and I’m pretty positive the extra CO2 will make them grow nearly out of control.

cars and people both turn oxygen into CO2. so there is no difference is you are locked in a room with a car or not. unless there is a supply of air entering the room you will die. even if the car is electric.

The car engine requires a higher level of O2 to run than we do. The engine would stop and leave enough O2 to last a human a long time depending on the size of the room. The CO2 levels would be high and O2 levels low but as long as you didn’t exercise too intensely you should be able to last an hour.

If a small room is 100% air tight, and if a man or a car are in there long enough and are emitting CO2, then CO2 can climb to 6% or higher. After a while, the man is longer inhaling 0.04% CO2 but more like 4% CO2 and a slightly larger % going out.

It was complicated. The Chancellor of Austria, Schuschnigg, was dead set against Germany annexing
Austria, and had set a date for a referendum to allow Austria to vote on whether to retain their independence. The Fuhrer sent in troops before that referendum could take place. (http://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/triumph/tr-austria.htm)

nothing unfair about pointing out similarities as a means of predicting behavior. for example: you are walking down a street late at night in a tough part of town. A little old lady steps into your path. Is she likely to be trying to rob you? What if instead of a little old lady it was three hard looking men that stepped into your path?
While our governments would call this profiling, and would somehow suggest that you cannot predict behavior from profiling, that it is somehow unfair, most anyone with an ounce of common sense knows that everyone uses profiling to predict behavior all the time.

The California Energy Commission http://energyalmanac.ca.gov/electricity/total_system_power.html says that “Renewables” (seventh row) form 20.1% of “California Power Mix” (rightmost column). “Large Hydro” (which apparently doesn’t count as “Renewable”) adds another 5.5%, making 25.6% renewable. It’s impressive, but it’s not 40%. Coal + natural gas come to 50.9%. Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_in_California says “By 2020 California is required to obtain at least 33% of electricity from renewable sources other than large hydro.” so in 5 years he might be right. o We’ll each be confined to our homes for one month, along with our entire immediate families
o Your household may only consume goods and services produced exclusively by renewable energy
o my household will only consume goods and services produced exclusively by fossil fuels
o whoever quits first has to apologize to the other for their obvious stupidity. In person. In the other person’s house.
I’m warning you though Arnie, not only will it be you and your family coming to my place to apologize in a matter of days, you’ll be naked, starving, you’ll stink to no end, and quite likely be diseased as well due to lack of clean water and sewer services. You’ll have to stand in the front yard to be hosed down before being allowed to enter. Your feet will hurt, a lot, because I live a long way away, and your stupid electric car ran out of juice not far from your home with no way to charge it again and you had to walk the rest of the way. If you made it at all.
Let’s just make it you and me Arnie, I don’t want to be responsible for any deaths in your family.

To all at WUWT
I left this post at Arnies facebook.
‘I thought the Greenhouse theory of warming was due to CO2 emissions but Arnold’s car analogy suggests it is Carbon Monoxide that we have to worry about. So if 99 Mechanics or Car Doctors told you cars emit carbon monoxide due to incomplete combustion would you believe them? That is the thing that gets you if you are in a garage with the engine running. Carbon MONOXIDE not Dioxide.’
I need some instruction and no need to pull punches as part of learning is about correction of error and I intend to go back and further elaborate at the Facebook site but I want to be on solid ground.
The main point of my post was to get the 99 mechanics or Car Doctors analogy up their noses so is the Monoxide issue OK.
I know modern cars have catalytic converters that improve emissions very well.
Is this taking the dangerous Monoxide combining it with oxygen and unburned hydrocarbons to produce CO2 and H2O to create a less dangerous emission
Is the car still emitting monoxide or CO2 or H2O?
The emission level of the car versus a Submarine full of submariners.
Have I made a goose of myself over at Facebook?
Could I have a brief and simple lesson please. Not about being a Goose but the Car Situation and I should not do this but do I I get a Gold Star and Elephant Stamp for The 99 Car Doctor thingy?

In a modern engine that is warm and has plenty of O2 in its intake, very little CO is produced; most of the carbon is oxidized to CO2.
CO is immediately lethal at 6,000 ppm whereas 50,000 ppm CO2 is endurable for a while.
Also, of course, in a sealed room, the O2 is quickly depleted, which is directly bad for the human, but also results in the engine producing a higher proportion of CO. Without contriving a separate clean air supply for the engine, CO would get you first; probably, even with such a hose, it would, too.
Arnie assumes that we would avoid the gasoline engine room as a sensible choice. He is not advocating that we be herded into a lethal space.

8 Dec: BusinessInsider Australia: Simon Thomsen: ‘I don’t give a **** if we agree’: Arnold Schwarzenegger’s epic rant about climate change
Actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has long been a passionate advocate for alternative energy…
Overnight, The Terminator also took to Facebook with an epic smackdown of the naysayers titled “I don’t give a **** if we agree about climate change”…
Schwarzenegger’s critical point about the need for change is best summed up in one killer line about the fossil fuels industry: “I don’t want to be the last investor in Blockbuster as Netflix emerged.”…
http://www.businessinsider.com.au/i-dont-give-a-if-we-agree-arnold-schwarzeneggers-epic-rant-about-climate-change-2015-12
MSM also loved this fact-free Arnie moment:
9 Dec: Sydney Morning Herald: Paris UN Climate Conference 2015: Arnold Schwarzenegger urges switch to vegetarian diet
Now the body-builder turned-actor-turned-politician has urged people to turn vegetarian – at least part-time – to save the planet.
“Right now people, seven million people are dying every year,” he said at climate change talks in Paris. “That is alarming and everyone in government has the responsibility to protect the people.
“They have to do something about it.”…
http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/beauty/paris-un-climate-conference-2015-arnold-schwarzenegger-urges-switch-to-vegetarian-diet-20151208-glivw3
funny thing is, Arnie is everything our CAGW-infested MSM usually loathes but, as he’s a BELIEVER, they now love him.

“You hit like a vegetarian,” Arnold Schwarzenegger once told a hapless adversary — and yet now he, too, is urging people to give up meat. Talk about eating your words.

A few facts for the Innumerator:
Wind Power is what warmists typically embrace – trillions of dollars have been squandered on worthless grid-connected wind power schemes that require life-of-project subsidies and drive up energy costs.
Some background on grid-connected wind power schemes:
The Capacity Factor of wind power is typically a bit over 20%, but that is NOT the relevant factor.
The real truth is told by the Substitution Capacity, which is dropping to as low as 4% in Germany – that is the amount of conventional generation that can be permanently retired when wind power is installed into the grid.
The E.ON Netz Wind Report 2005 is an informative document:
http://www.wind-watch.org/documents/wp-content/uploads/eonwindreport2005.pdf
(apparently no longer available from E.ON Netz website).
Figure 6 says Wind Power is too intermittent (and needs almost 100% spinning backup);
and
Figure 7 says it just gets worse and worse the more Wind Power you add to the grid (see Substitution Capacity dropping from 8% to 4%).
Same story applies to grid-connected Solar Power (both in the absence of a “Super-Battery”).
This was all obvious to us decades ago – we published similar conclusions in 2002.
Trillions of dollars have been wasted globally on green energy that is not green and produces little useful energy.
Regards to all, Allan

Nothing to worry about when politicians from Austria start talking about gassing people they disagree with. All in good fun, I’m sure.

December 9, 2015 3:33 am

I don’t agree with most of what Arnold stated, but Eric Worrall’s contention that this was some “gas chamber fantasy for skeptics” is just plain wrong. I do not see Arnold’s Facebook post as an hate filled “ugly diatribe” against skeptics. Where are his “murderous fantasies” or “hysterical calls” to torment skeptics? This does not rise in any way shape or form, to the hate seen for example in the “No Pressure” exploding children video, or for the calls for war crimes trials for “Dee-nigh-ers”.
We have better skeptical arguments against the “science” of AGW without resorting to phony outrage over some alleged hate-filled rant by Schwarzenegger. His Facebook post was an eye-roller, but Worrall is guilty of Olympic sized long jumping to conclusions in attempting to cast Schwarzenegger as a villain.
I would choose Door Number Two if it was economically feasible.

In the other you have brown-outs in mid-winter, we can’t deliver food and water consistently and temperatures hover around 45 degrees with dips below freezing. I wonder which room he would chose?

Nuts! The less somebody knows of power generation and physics in general, the more he supports California’s “renewable energy”, and climatism in general. Unfortunately, too many smart and successful people in California know nothing of energy industry and physics.
BTW, California developed its economy mostly because it has good (i.e. warm) climate, which had attracted many wealthy people.

What exactly is Arnold saying, that the 99% of people who drive autos powered by petrol are currently locking themselves in their garage revving the engine?
On a table is a piece of coal, on another table is a metal bar plugged into a wall outlet. Which would you pick up, the coal or the electrically charged metal bar? This may be surprising to Arnold but people who use electricity usually do not wet their fingers and stick them into wall sockets.
A better analogy is, you live in a frigid snowy climate, behind door number one you have consistent, reliable heat provided by fossil fuels or behind door number 2 you can freeze your ass off with intermittent heat provided by solar energy. I wonder which door Arnie would pick.

Dear Arnold
The truth is the skeptics are the ones that are the realist, the ones adhering to scientific methods and they should be recognized as such. The alarmist, the promoters of man made global warming are the deniers. They deny the fact that all their models have gone bust. They deny the fact that the only reliable measure of the global temperature ( satellite data) has shown no warming for almost 20 years. They deny the benefits of CO2. They deny the fact that the oceans are not rising at an alarming rate and storms are not getting more frequent or more sever. In fact they deny everything that is true and exaggerate everything that gives them a glimmer of hope that their doomsday scenarios could happen.
Seeing as when you look at the facts its people like you Arnold that are the deniers you should enter your gas chamber first and you wont be back.

The exhaust from a new car pretty is almost all CO2 and water vapor. In a sealed room with a modern car running you will not die of CO or other pollutant, but because of oxygen deprivation. Arnold the Fool. I show power consumed by California in the year 2014 as follows :
total power produced in-state – 199,00 GWhrs, of which 22.5% was “renewables” meaning
solar (5.3%), wind(6.5%), geothermal (6.1%) and the remainder by biomass and small hydro.
Califonrnia imported 98,000 GWhrs from out-of-state providers, of which approximately
16% was from renewable sources. Arnold in all likelihood is quoting nameplate capacities
for renewables , especially for solar and wind, which is something renewable proponents
habitually do, and which is totally inappropriate and amounts to an enormous exaggeration
of renwable share. A windmill based on land, for example typically can average only 25 to 30%
of its nameplate capacity, and solar, even in a desert, typically averages 6 suns per day, which
amounts to 25% of its nameplate capacity. Large baseload power generators, which produce the most
power, typically run in the 90% range. Some nuclear plants habitually operate at over 100% nameplate
capacity.
His claim that California leads the way in low carbon power production is hopelessly inaccurate.
While California has a 50% low carbon production target well into the future, South Carolina, for
example currently produces over 60% of its power from its 7 nuclear plants, and two more will come
online within a year or so, upping the percentage to well over 80%, a figure that California will
never achieve thru renwables, at least not without a massive backup up system of pumped storage, etc.
California depends heavilly upon out-of-state power providers. If they have a 50% target, then that
is only for the 2/3rds of power they produce themselves – the power consumed by Californians will
actually be considerably less of the low carbon variety. California has made its money as the land
of imagination and BS. Its residents continue in this tradition.

docgee
December 9, 2015 1:30 pm

I’m usually on the same page with you and yours on this blog, Anthony, but in this case Worrall gets it wrong. Schwarzenegger makes it clear that he cares not for either side in the great climate debate. The point he’s making concerns, first, pollution — the old fashioned kind, NOT the carbon kind – and second, the importance of developing renewable energy, regardless of how anyone might feel about the climate, one way or the other.
His argument makes sense because even if CO2 emissions are not a concern, we will one day run out of fossil fuels and when that time comes, the only alternative will be renewables. The comparison he makes with the two cars in the two garages has to do with the usual sort of pollution generated by internal combustion engines, NOT CO2 “pollution,” which he never mentions. The comparison is apt, because cars that run on gas DO emit harmful pollutants, no question, while electrics do not. It’s a simple, reasonable argument and it amazes me that no one commenting here seems to get it. I see a lot of paranoia on both sides of this argument and at this point I don’t know where to turn.

You’re missing the point. He’s pointing out obvious pollution issues under the banner of Climate Change – with the deliberate effort to let the public confuse the two. Another common propaganda trick, frequently used by climate alarmists – state an obvious fact that no reasonable person would argue with, but not relevant to the topic of climate change – which is the whole point of this manipulative display. It’s called the bait and switch. It’s also a cheap (and phony) way of claiming the moral high ground while avoiding getting caught in an outright lie.

He says he doesn’t care, but tries to guilt you into man made climate change any ways! These climate activists are just plain liars, and of course debate dishonestly.

It’s only bad when the “extreme right” say that:

En France du moins, l’Occupation allemande n’a pas été particulièrement inhumaine, même s’il y eut des bavures, inévitables dans un pays de 550 000 kilomètres carrés.

In France at least, the German occupation was not particularly inhumane, even if there were blunders, inevitable in a country of 550,000 square kilometers.

=> 3 months of prison (suspended) + 10000 € sentence for “pour contestation de crime contre l’humanité” (for disputing a “crime against humanity”)

The pro-palestinian extreme left can do it:

la politique d’occupation allemande était, si on la compare par exemple avec la politique d’occupation actuelle de la Palestine par les Israéliens, une politique relativement inoffensive, si l’on fait abstraction d’éléments d’exception comme les incarcérations, les internements et les exécutions, ainsi que le vol d’œuvres d’art.

the German occupation policy was, if compared for example with the current policy of occupation of Palestine by the Israelis, a relatively harmless policy, if we disregard the exceptional items such as incarceration, the internments and killings, and the theft of works of art

(But then we know the French Justice is captured by the extreme left.)

Several years ago I saw something about Arnold. It included an interview where he said what he goals were when he came to the US.
1. Win the Mr. Universe contest.
2. Marry a Kennedy.
3. Become President of the US.
I guess achieving 1 1/2 ain’t bad. 😎

The terminator is terminally stupid. According to the state website, 32% of its electricity is imported from WA, OR and the 4-corners area. Another 52% is imported in the form of other peoples’ natural gas, 10% is “domestic” hydro, 3% local nuke. That leaves 3% for solar, wind and geothermal.

Reblogged this on pattikellar and commented:
Now this is just plain funny.
“Note from Anthony:
It appears the great musclehead mind has confused Carbon Monoxide, and Carbon Dioxide, something I’m no stranger to via threat from one of my own local nuts eco-activists, Sherri Quammen: http://wattsupwiththat.com/2012/03/22/letters-i-get-letters/
Ahnold and Sherri, they are both of the same caliber of thought.”

Gergen der Dumheit kampfen die Gotten selbst vergebens. I probably got that wrong, but it accurately expresses the futility of actually dismantling Arnold’s abortion of logic here.
Stupidity has reached critical mass in this country and the bureaucrats mistakenly believe they can manage a welfare state of micro-regulated populace with an ever shrinking ratio of productive to unproductive citizens. If that weren’t enough, they’re perpetually insistent that we import more ignorance for the sheer purpose of maintaining a large enough voting block.

Schwarznegger shouldn’t make fun of gas chambers because the Austrians are just as culpable as the Germans of gassing millions of Jews!

What a childish, naive metaphor. A garage vs the entire planet? Mixing apples and asteroids? Doesn’t work, for me. Another rich person telling us poor folk how to live, think and vote? Nope!

And as usual, the science is utterly broken in what he proposes anyway. Why? Because carbon monoxide kills you within an hour. So the carbon dioxide isn’t even the villain in his silly anecdote.

A technicality caution – while the CO in exhaust of a typical engine would get you first, a very high proportion of CO2 would stop lung function (even before displacement of oxygen by CO2 would.

It’s amazing how types like Schwarzenegger “get religion” on Chicken Little ideas and keep on trying harder instead of thinking.
Oh, right, that’s the person who was elected governor on a promise to straighten out the finances of California but didn’t? Full of hot air I’d say.
Heil Hitler!
And David Suzuki compares oilsands people to slave traders: http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/its-a-moral-issue-david-suzuki-compares-oilsands-defenders-to-slave-traders.
You have to understand that he’s a neo-Marxist to begin to grasp why he would say that. (Marxism and its Post-Modernist derivative uses a complicated theory of power, does not have a clue about individual rights, and values contradictions , thinks that words make reality.
Unfortunately others listen to the horsefeathers – a former premier of B.C., who I refer to as Gordo, got his climate alarmist views in substantial part from Schwarzenegger (and from a perfessor who buttonholed him at a reception one day). Gordo proved to be incompetent in finances as well, having presided over a major error in forecasting income tax revenue then implementing a combined federal-provincial sales tax that his regime had at least strongly inferred they had no interest in. (Sadly, the integrated approach is better as more efficient for businesses to administer, but voters were so ticked off they forced a referendum that reversed the decision.)
Gordo’s successor as premier, Ms. PPCC I call her, likely got her climate alarmist beliefs from her religion – the Anglican offshoot of the Catholic church, both quite alarmist these days. (Very similar churches of course, similar rituals.)
