Laughable: COP21 and Comedy Central share a logo style

From the truth is stranger than fiction department. I was sent a photo showing the UN Logo being installed at the COP21 conference in Paris. Source: Inquirer.net where they say “Failure is not an option“.

cop21-logo-installed
Workers install a logo on the facade of the UN Climate Conference in Le Bourget, outside Paris, Nov. 23. The conference with more than 100 heads of state is scheduled to start on Nov.30. AP

In a twist of irony, the Comedy Central logo looks virtually the same:

Comedy-Central-latam

Seems fitting. I’m sure we’ll get plenty of entertainment from COp21 this week.

The logo for Comedy Central is a sort of maze. The logo for COP21 is a sort of maze for the intellectually challenged.

The policy outcome of this tragicomedy will likely be a major infusion of foreign money into India’s economy with will cause major growth in coal production, consumption, and imports. Their economic growth will push into double digit percentage rates and carbon output may double in the process. The other tragedy is that they will reward India’s policy of local content on all the investment of renewable energy, continuing the unfair trade practices that have held back India and the global economy for generations.

Today’s California Water News carries an uncharacteristically hostile article about Gov. Brown jet-setting to the Paris Climate Coven:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/11/28/governor-big-oil-brown-jets-off-paris-climate-summit/
The comments about the governor refer to his duplicity, using state employees to assay his property for oil. The article includes a surprising paragraph about an about-face on hydraulic fracturing by Tony Blair:
“The British, whose Prime Minister Tony Blair recruited Al Gore to the cause, just announced they are going all-in-for-fracking. As a result, they intend to issue pink slips to up to 40 percent of their 250 high-paid bureaucrats that have traveled the developing world to drum-up support for the UN’s plan for radical reductions of CO2 emissions in exchange for wealth transfers to the developing world.”

When there is trillions on the line and world-level power to be gained by pushing this evil agenda, a lot of people are willing to lie big time and all day long.

Tony who? Oh – the guy who took us into Iraq with the “dodgy dossier” , in 2003, to butter up a bloke called Bush. No – the current incompetent is the “Heir to Blair”, which is why we are going to bomb Syria to please the current POTUS .

Surely it should be the facade of the building … or perhaps it is right after all.

I think they mean “failure [to get our fair share of the climate pie] is not an option”.

A point of curiosity to me is United States Governors attending a conference that is attempting to forge a TREATY solution to CC when individual states in the US are expressly forbidden to enter into international treaties under the US Constitution. Odd

COP21 needs a broadcast (cable, radio and TV) crew with live color commentary and play-by-play action. Calling Marv Albert, Dick Vitale and crew.
“Oh Baby” Obama hits it for 3 from the back court; listen to that string music.

The logo represents the standard of accuracy of the climate models used: they wanted to show how well they could project ‘wheels within wheels’… oops – mind the gap!

oops – mind the gap!

Unfortunately, this is the sort of thing that happens when politicians get involved. Eventually, some bright bulb decides that we could make the world better if pi == 3(exactly)
At this point, you are talking piston rings.
The logo was supposed to be concentric circles, symbolizing “One Whole World”, or some such.
I think I know what happened.

The UN logo has a floral pattern, seen in the CC image. I recognized it immediately:

The logo is not the logo of COP21, which is a leaf with a sun and an eiffeltower. The logo with the double-C is the logo of the UNFCCC.

It looks like an unfinished target! Guns! Tyranny! Save us!
Or a pie with a slice out of it…maybe they are insinuating our “just desserts” are coming!
Ooooohhhhh….it’s a “power button”…to switch the global warming off!
Wait….is it an ancient symbol for “paid way too much for this logo?

Not so funny is this recent utterance by Science Po Professor Bruno Latour, http://www.bruno-latour.fr/biography
The excellent skyfall site pointed out this surreal writing in http://www.skyfall.fr/?p=1823
Here is the translation from the horse mouth:
http://www.bruno-latour.fr/sites/default/files/downloads/REPORTERRE-11-15-GB_0.pdf
“The 13th of November is a foreshadowing of the
catastrophe that will follow the failure of the Paris conference and others to
come. If you rightly use the word nihilism to describe these militant madmen,
it would seem to me that the word also applies, but with more far-reaching
implications, to those who, in a twisted way, are expressing a death wish of
their own. Just like those who kill themselves in the act of killing, people in
positions of responsibility who fail to take on the issue of global climate
change with the greatest seriousness is shouting in unison with the
terrorists: Long live death!
It would be truly tragic if, by rightly seeking out and destroying those
who, within a limited time and place, go about killing innocent people, we
delay yet again the necessary work of addressing those who would kill on a
deliriously massive scale, over a long period, sweeping away life in all its
forms, human or otherwise. Though it is legitimate that a well-calibrated
state of emergency allows for secure street demonstrations, the powers that
be have to remember that they could declare a different state of emergency,
an extreme one this time, that could teach the citizenry how to identify and
grapple with the larger enemy.”
Still laughing?

Not funny. This is what is out there. It answers the questions about how could a civilized country have done what it did in WWII. In our midst are throngs of such people who can be harnessed to commit any inhumane acts on any scale.

The logo kinda looks likes a tree ring with a really big hole in in it.

Looking at the picture, I’m expecting the two guys to be catapulted out of the picture on the lift platform as a comedy central gag.
