Forbes reports that, according to Google search statistics, the world’s media climate blitz has failed to date to spark any interest in global warming.
According to Forbes;
The graph above shows relative web search interest in the two terms, demonstrating that interest in global warming decreased substantially in mid-2010 and by mid-2013 dropped equal with searches for climate change, exhibiting a more than ten-fold decrease in public interest. Searches for climate change increased from 2006-2010, but in the last three years have been stable at their early 2005 levels. Put simply, the public simply isn’t searching about the topic anymore, suggesting they either aren’t interested or they feel they already know what they would like to know about changing climatic conditions. Google News searches exhibit a nearly identical downward slope suggesting that the public isn’t searching for the latest breaking climate news either, indicating an overall decreasing interest in the topic.
On the other hand, even if public interest is waning, media coverage certainly isn’t.
Out of interest I modified the original Forbes search terms (see the Forbes article for the original), to produce the graph at the top of this page. The modifications were adding the terms “COP21”, “COP 21” and “Paris Climate Conference”, and ticking the box to include Google’s search forecast for the next few months. Forbes reports there are a few exceptions to this general complete lack of interest. Small impoverished island states and some third world countries, which have been blitzed with dubious predictions of imminent climate catastrophe, and bombarded with empty promises of climate cash, are showing strong interest in climate issues. I suspect interest will rapidly wane in the wake of the upcoming Paris conference, when they realise it has all been a load of hype.

-There is nothing about RoHa’s original comment that is suggestive of “sarcastic trolling” (not even a “sarc” tag). Indeed, the comment reflects just exactly the mentality of your basic-issue, brainwashed, hive-abused true-believer (usually some socially-incompetent, snot-nosed, “dumb”-kid dork)–so it could very well have been a serious-minded, Gaia-freak comment (“kokoda”, “RockyRoad”, and “Patrick” also didn’t “get” that RoHa’s comment was just “sarcastic trolling”, I note).
-On the other hand, RoHa’s second comment suggests the possibility that RoHa’s first comment was ironic in character–which I already considered in the “P. P. S” portion of my above comment. To me, nobody special, and a relative newbe on these threads, the original comment by RoHa did seem like sarcasm, I think because of the context, including the comment above it . . I can understand how it might be seen as serious, given what I have seen coming out of folks who might make that comment seriously, but on this site . . that’s a very rare bird. Just appearing to be such a critter caused me to think sarcasm.
There is a pro-CAGW contingent, but it’s not made up of “true believers” as far as I can tell. It’s pysops stuff, cointelpro type insertions into the dialog. The arguments are typically convoluted attempts to blunt the slicing and dicing the folks here routinely do on any and all aspects of he CAWG Siants charade. I enjoyed your rant, with a bit of queasiness due to what I “knew” was prolly coming next, but around here you can just calmly state your case . . none of what you wrote is unusual here in terms of thoughts/ideas.
If such a bird as you thought you saw does appear, it’s not going to have anymore impact that CO2 does on a hurricane . . so don’t scare it off, let it watch for awhile, who knows? it may learn a thing or two.

You see, yesterday afternoon I was sitting at the local neighborhood bar (like that’s anything new). And, inward sultrified (that’s a sultry walk) this African woman. How did I know? Well, aside from her skin tone it was her manner of dress; a truly stunning combination of Western fashion and native garb highlighted by unique jewelry. Of course she was tall and slim. And, of course, that Western fashion had to include a rather deep neckline into which the necklace hung. (Try not to make it obvious you’re looking Tom – just try.)

I found out she was from Zambia. (I guess I was right – she was from Africa. I mean, Zambia’s in Africa, isn’t it?) I mentioned to her that she must be a world traveler. Since the extent of my world travels was limited to Appleton, Wisconsin; Gary, Indiana; and Danville, Illinois; I figured I better come clean and tell her I wasn’t. She talked about Victoria Falls and was impressed that I knew about it. She said, “Well, that just shows you’re a world traveler in your mind.”
I’m dead I thought. I must be dead. I must’ve lived a good enough life because I must be in heaven. I must be dead and in heaven. But, I wasn’t; I was in hell. You see, just then, of course, of course, of course … the fiancé shows up.
They have to leave for the airport. She introduces me and tells him she’ll have another drink and be right out. (In other words; ‘Get lost while I talk to this total stranger, Tom.) He leaves as if he’s been through this exercise a million times. And, he has. She says to me, “I like to mess with him.”
Then she gives me her phone number. Forever more I will be tortured. Probably by him if I call. And, probably by my own mind; thinking about what joy, what fulfillment, what ecstasy; I might be missing in the waning days of my life if I don’t.
We are all doomed. It’s true. Nobody can dispute it. In the end, everything else in life, or a bar, is just a dream. The only thing worth concentrating on is the alcohol content of the cold Guinness in front of you.

Thank you for your kind note, however, I was aware of the meaning of “hoi-polloi” you cited (except that I use the term in the more expanded sense of the “masses”). Although apparently unclear, my earlier comment sought to brandish, as a badge of honor, the dismissive terms applied to us “little guys” by our hive-“betters” (with a little hyperbole, maybe). In that regard, I employed the phrases, “us coolie-trash, nobody hoi-polloi” and “us peons”. So I think a careful reading of my comment will reveal that I used the term “hoi-polloi” correctly–but maybe not.

From my experience on news sites (Telegraph and Yahoo), years ago the warmists were engaging about 50%; this last full year, they are about 10%. It appears to me the general public has turned against the climate criminals – the cause seems to be related to those that pay attention to the ridiculous claims in the news AND they also know our Liar-in-Chief supports Global Warming.

Chris, for the last few years I’ve regularly checked to see what newspapers have been saying and as a result I’ve engaged in hundreds possibly thousands of online conversations. But I tended not to comment when there was already a healthy group of sceptics on a story.
However, over this last year I’ve not only steadily found less and less to comment on as the serious press have cut back on global warming coverage, but where there was something to comment, the stories were usually already inundated with sceptics … and climate extremists are now a rarity.

It would be almost too wonderful to be true if Paris were to experience bitterly cold weather during COP 21. I can just see all those tropical country delegates trying to control their chattering teeth as they claimed the globe is warming too much.
Interest peaked in 2009/2010, about the same time as the leaked CRU emails. Whether the CRU was exonerated or not, by a slightly biased auditor, people were smart enough to label the whole thing as a hoax. We are not as dumb as they think we are.
This time they might tip right over. The burden of failed predictions must be making even these dinosaurs dizzy.

NGC will generate interest.
The majority of the warming in the last 150 years was caused by solar cycle changes, rather than the increase in atmospheric CO2. An observation to support that assertion (prove that assertion) would be significant global cooling.
This is one of the first NGC stories. Unfortunately the media interviewed the cult of CAGW so the entire story concerns zombie theories and manipulated data.
The cult of CAGW did not mention the fact that there is a cold blob that has started in the Northern Pacific and there has been a cold blob in the southern hemisphere for almost three years. The red on this graph is caused by solar wind bursts which in turn are caused by coronal holes, not sunspots. When the coronal holes shrink and/or move to high latitude regions of the sun where they no longer affect planetary temperature NGW will end.

During Dansgaard-Oeschger cooling cycles and during the interglacial terminating Heinrich events the jet stream increases in speed which results increased dust deposited on the Greenland Ice sheet. (Factor of 10 for Heinrich events. The dust comes from China.) The increase in wind speed, the increase in low level cloud cover, and the reduction in cirrus cloud cover causes the roughly 10C drop in high latitude ocean temperatures.

Forbes reports that, according to Google search statistics, the world’s media climate blitz has failed to date to spark any interest in global warming. The reason is simple … everyone knows that leading up to COP21 in Paris, the UN has gone about its business, patiently and skilfully, to ensure that the international agreement controlling fossil fuel energy will be signed in December by governments without the farce experienced in Copenhagen.
One of the last obstacles was Tony Abbott, Australia’s Prime Minister, who was a climate change sceptic. Lord Christopher Moncton had previously warned about the toppling of Abbott before the Paris Summit in favour of a Malcolm Turnbull led government (Turnbull being a global warming alarmist). Now that that has just happened, it’s almost certain that virtually all countries that matter are locked in. The agreement will at last be signed, and the ‘FIFA style bribery’ amongst poorer nations will have succeeded as they get their share from the the redistribution of wealth from the wealthy countries.
But what I anticipate, based on sound climate forecasting principles, is that as the world’s politicians and bureaucrats celebrate in Paris, Paris will experience one of the coldest winters for many years… and the UN will insult our intelligence by confirming the cold weather is due to dangerous man-made global warming.
The more reason to fanatically oppose everything the COP21 is trying to achieve, in talks and blogs and what not.

The recent change to the AP Style-Guide, dropping the use of the “D-Word” when writing about Climate Change, was probably a tactical marketing decision based on googlish feedback. If a news consumer were to explore the issue of “climate change” they might have wondered why the people doing all the shrill name-calling are the good guys?

Our rulers do NOT want us interested in the Paris talks. They are going to steal money from us and it is all about hidden taxes which ARE going to be imposed on us due to CO2, plant food, our exhalations. As I understand it, yes in general, due to increased uptake by surface waters among other things. Cooler water can absorb more CO2, as the surface temps rise again, warming water releases part of it’s then “excess” CO2 load. With the oceans as vast an deep as they are that’s a big part of the complex cycling that’s always going on. Plants tend to take up more CO2 in warm weatther, less in cool, so that’s another factor . .
When you are force fed, you don’t have to look for a meal. It doesn’t make a difference if people have stopped being interested, the news media keeps on failing to ask questions about why so much of tax payers money has been spent with nothing to show for it. When the number of searches for the pause or temperature adjustments go up, give me a call.

Of course you’re making valid points, the perps don’t want the public at at large to be too attentive to the details of the con, but when they pulled the ‘consensus’ rabbit out of their hat, so to speak, they set in motion forces that are not easily controlled by press releases and celebrity endorsements and such, it seems to me.
They set a great many otherwise busy minds that were being swept along by the “show”, but know the basic nature of the scientific appraoch, to wondering (my own included), And as the years without continued warming continued to pass, the con became more and more difficult to conceal effectively, since consensus . They initiated a “shelf life” sort of aspect to the whole presentation which is growing rather long in the tooth, among other things.
And now, the claims of consensus and the debate being over ring very hollow, which is to say the “cover” many knowing/wishful thinking participants in the overall charade once saw as warm and cozy, has become tattered and drafty. They know many people they must deal with to get anything done can see right through it, and will not feel so safe in “going along to get along”.
In light of this circumstance, I believe this really is their last chance to seal this deal, so to speak. That they must do so without much public support, in tough and unpredictable economic times, means the entire edifice of the mass media “bully pulpit” the hyper-wealthy criminals on high have purchased, is at risk of crumbling. Just barging ahead with a great fanfare may not be Plan A anymore. We may yet live to fight another day . . and if you don’t lose, long enough, you win.
