This QOTW comes courtesy of Willis Eschenbach, who spotted this gem in an essay from P. J. O’Rourke in The Weekly Standard, October 10, 2005 titled: P.J. O’Rourke: Two, Three, Many Katrinas (Rita disappoints the liberals).
It sounds so probable, you might actually think it is a serious quote, rather than satire.
Global warming is a fact. Now it’s up to liberals to make it a reality. Hence there is crucial importance in preventing powerful, greedy free market forces from getting in the way of worsening storms and rising sea levels. The Kyoto Accord is a good first step.

But, what was the typo? … a global agreement to FUND climate change… I thought these people were supposed to be opposed to climate change, now they want to fund it?

HE was once asked whether he minded when his critics described him as a NAZI. His reply was he didn’t mind, because “nobody ever fantasised about being tied up and molested by a socialist!”.
P J O’rourke is a class act. He sees right through the liberal facade.
