Hello, its all about “Repent before its too late”, there is, and probably never was any real attempt to base the IPCC and its offshoots on Science,eveything is just a smokescreen for what is a no development religeon. Advantages of it being a faith is no facts are needed, simply “Belief”.
Of course the media love it, it sells papers and TV time, and the politicians are all for chasing more votes, hence they splash lots of the taxpayers money on it.
Climate change is the Bizarro Santa Claus of the natural world, rewarding the naughty, and punishing the nice. Climate changes causes every species on the planet that vexes you personally, or harms you economically, to become more widespread, more aggressive, larger, and more numerous. It causes every species on the planet from which you derive value, or for which you have sympathy, to become weaker, more limited in range, and fewer in number.
That is why you will find papers in climate change journals predicting that mosquitos will become more widespread and more able to spread disease, and giant, killer poison ivy will overspread the land, while playful polar bears and yummy strawberries are allegedly endangered. (Yes, I can produce reference for these, and so can you, with 2 minutes of googling.)
I challenge anyone to find a scientific paper with a title that refers to climate change benefitting a species that you really, really like a lot (blueberries or kittens, for example), or harming a species that you strongly dislike, (athletes foot fungus or biting greenhead flies, for example).

Now we have a climate-change knife, we need a climate-change money clip to go with it. It would have to be very large so it can hold research grant money, green-energy subsidies, carbon offsets, energy taxes, carbon pollution fines, and reparation funds earmarked to help developing countries cope with climate change.

Non-believers….the Cubs will win the World Series when the earth freezes over!! That will probably be in about 20 years or so, if Svensmark is correct.
I digress. People of all political stripes, except for the die-hard Commies, are running away from global warming like a dead skunk. It’s hard to argue with reality = record cold temperatures, record Antarctic sea ice extent etc. Truly, we are witnessing “Shaka…when the walls fell!”

Global warming is no longer a political force. If anything, it is the opposite.
The only way pro-Green parties can gain ground now is to quit talking about global warming. The pro-Conservative parties can gain ground by putting global warming on the table and not being afraid of raising it. Force the green/pro-global warming parties to come clean about their Carbon tax, subsidizing green energy policies.
The pro-Green parties already have the vote of those who like Carbon taxes, subsidized green energy. It is those voters who are in the middle, those who don’t fully understand just how green these parties are, who can be swayed to not vote for them when global warming policies become more up-front and on-the-table.
I have a mandatory campus-wide social consciousness event coming up and have been instructed to read the “Earth Charter” in preparation. The document says, in part:
“6. Prevent harm as the best method of environmental protection and, when knowledge is limited, apply a precautionary approach.
a. Take action to avoid the possibility of serious or irreversible environmental harm even when scientific knowledge is incomplete or inconclusive.
b. Place the burden of proof on those who argue that a proposed activity will not cause significant harm, and make the responsible parties liable for environmental harm.”
In other words, “We don’t care what the evidence says, we just want some scapegoats.”
