Al Gore's Climate Reality Project is set to do another 24 hours of alternate reality – nobody cares

This year, October 22/23, they are bringing in a comedian (no relation):

Carbon pollution is not only disrupting our lives, it’s hitting our wallets. Comedian and musician Reggie Watts shows how, laying out the billion-dollar connection between fossil-fuel energy and dirty weather events like Superstorm Sandy caused by carbon pollution.

I guess he didn’t read the recent IPCC AR5 report that showed no connections of climate change/global warming with severe weather. In a year when we’ve had the least  number of wildfires in 30 years and well below the decadal average, plus a near record low in tornadoes, and a hurricane season that has gone bust, Gore is pushing a dead issue. See why on the WUWT Extreme Weather page

So as this screencap from his latest propaganda video shows, setting fire to orchids seems to be the way Gore is fawning for attention getting the message across that it is hot in the summer and wildfires happen. He’s got nothing else.

Gore_flaming_orchids

Its the same old tired stuff from Gore, who can’t even bring himself to correct blatant errors and outright lying I discovered in his “high school science experiment” from two years ago. So, I’ve decided not to bother with the event this year, seeing how WUWT is beating the pants off of Gore’s Climate Reality project by the numbers:

WUWT-vs-all-climate
Note the difference between traffic at WUWT (top line) and the climaterealityproject.org (bottom line)

Gore is still stuck on stupid,  his star is fading, and he clearly isn’t worth the effort. He’s already beaten, nobody  but a few zealots care anymore.

I’ll focus WUWT-TV on the science at the AGU meeting this year. I’m happy to report that I’ve been given a press pass.

Below, you can watch the latest video from Gore and laugh, after all he’s reduced himself to hiring a comedian to push his issue.

UPDATE: In comments, “Mark and Two cats” sums the whole thing up pretty well:

…dirty weather events…

————————————-

Children just aren’t going to know what clean weather is.

UPDATE2: for reference from the IPCC AR5 WGI Chapter 2 on extremes.

  • “Overall, the most robust global changes in climate extremes are seen in measures of daily temperature, including to some extent, heat waves. Precipitation extremes also appear to be increasing, but there is large spatial variability”
  • “There is limited evidence of changes in extremes associated with other climate variables since the mid-20th century”
  • “Current datasets indicate no significant observed trends in global tropical cyclone frequency over the past century … No robust trends in annual numbers of tropical storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes counts have been identified over the past 100 years in the North Atlantic basin”
  • “In summary, there continues to be a lack of evidence and thus low confidence regarding the sign of trend in the magnitude and/or frequency of floods on a global scale”
  • “In summary, there is low confidence in observed trends in small-scale severe weather phenomena such as hail and thunderstorms because of historical data inhomogeneities and inadequacies in monitoring systems”
  • “In summary, the current assessment concludes that there is not enough evidence at present to suggest more than low confidence in a global-scale observed trend in drought or dryness (lack of rainfall) since the middle of the 20th century due to lack of direct observations, geographical inconsistencies in the trends, and dependencies of inferred trends on the index choice. Based on updated studies, AR4 conclusions regarding global increasing trends in drought since the 1970s were probably overstated. However, it is likely that the frequency and intensity of drought has increased in the Mediterranean and West Africa and decreased in central North America and north-west Australia since 1950”
  • “In summary, confidence in large scale changes in the intensity of extreme extratropical cyclones since 1900 is low”

Gore is correct. We do pay a price for carbon when we buy products or services that use carbon, or more commonly, carbon-related energy, So what? We pay a price for eggs when we consume breakfast.
The problem is:
1. Gore attributes Hurricane Sandy to CO2. This is clearly nonsense.
2. He proposes a “solution” that simply forces us to pay dramatically more for energy (and hence indirectly almost everything). He pretends the “polluters will pay” but we all know those costs will be passed on to consumers and tax payers one way or another.
3. His proposed “solution” will cost a ton of dosh but delivers absolutely zilch in tangible benefits to the population. Nada, zip, nothing. Of course, it will benefit a handful of players who control and game the system like… oh, Al Gore.
The whole thing is just like a giant, scaled up version of the Nigerian 419 scam. Send us some money now and later we’ll shower you with great riches later. Yeah, right!
All of this can be summed up in a single English word. We call it fraud!

Al Gore knows that Big Oil and Big Coal will not be the ones paying his carbon taxes. They will simply pass the taxes on to the consumer. There’s no evidence that a carbon tax will do anything to stop the next drought or major storm, so what good is it, other than to make rich carbon traders like Al Gore even richer?

The true price of carbon?
Around 10% increases being announced on UK energy bills, with wages increasing on average by 0.8% this year. 10% of those energy bills is already accounted for by “green tariffs”, so the government could neuralise these latest rises at the stroke of a pen.

Gore and his friends’ propaganda machines are completely disconnected from reality.
A side effect of group think/group mania screaming the science is settled, the science is settled, we need to spend trillions of dollars on green scams that do not work is those running and listening to the propaganda machines are the last to realize that the EAGW science was absolutely incorrect and the green scams do not work. (See this week’s Economist for an interesting article concerning green scams.)
The planet has started to cool. A change requires a physical explanation (the explanation is not the idiotic chaotic/butterfly explanation, the change is at both poles, and is affecting other aspects of the planetary climate such as the occurrence of high rainfall events). Hint solar magnetic cycle change. It will be interesting to hear how the warmists respond to in your face, front page type, global cooling.
1. Accumulated cyclone energy
2013 Atlantic accumulated cyclone energy is on track to be the fifth lowest in fifty years.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accumulated_cyclone_energy#Atlantic_hurricane_seasons_by_ACE_index.2C_1950.E2.80.932013
2. Antarctic sea ice is on track to be the fifth highest in fifty years setting multiple records for highest recorded Antarctic sea ice for different specific periods of the year. Antarctic sea ice has been high for all months of the year, which is a unique occurrence in fifty years of observation.
http://nsidc.org/data/seaice_index/images/daily_images/S_stddev_timeseries.png
3. Record low and consistently low Arctic temperatures this summer. Based on the what has happened before when there was a sudden reduction in the solar magnetic cycle there should be record low winter Arctic temperatures. A complete recovery of Arctic sea ice followed by record Arctic sea ice will require an explanation.
http://ocean.dmi.dk/arctic/meant80n.uk.php
(The temporary above average Arctic temperatures has likely due to the latent heat released due to rapid formation of new sea ice.)
4. Long range forecasters are trying to get ahead of the curve and are predicting a historic record cold winter in Europe.

This is important….as the USA continues to develop fracking, folks have focused upon the natural gas side. However, vast quantities of liquid hydrocarbons are also produced, and the USA has now leapfrogged even the Saudis in production. Gee, didn’t they notice how well that’s worked for the BBC Pension Fund?
The link they gave goes here. Amazingly enough, it’s not exactly saying what Gore’s people said it does. One of five of the state-owned pension funds has pretty much assumed there will be worldwide carbon taxes and/or credits, and wants to reduce exposure to companies with high carbon footprints.
Given all the steel, concrete, and other components used in manufacture and erecting an installation, logically that means they would abandon wind turbines, especially utility-scale models, and invest in natural gas companies instead.

Thanks to WUWT, am very early in my education on all of the in depth climate research being conducted around the world. Don’t laugh, but one year ago had I read the word “carbon” and the scary phrase “dirty weather” in one paragraph, would have thought we were at risk for increasing amounts of ground pencil lead (like from a pencil sharpener) falling on us.
Seriously, my suggestion would be to avoid the shortened “carbon” term, and use carbon dioxide every single time if that is what the writer means. Unless, of course, we truly are at risk for increased gritty, dirty weather.

Bloody Mess’s latest ploy might deserve attention from the securities and Exchange Commission. B.M. came out today with the declaration that energy stocks are at risk. Makes you wonder if he’s been selling them short, figuring his predictions would cause the price to drop after he sold short, and enable him to cover the shorts for less than he sold them for, thereby raking in the cash. That would seem to constitute illegal market manipulation.
However, since the Justice Department, along with all the rest of der Fuehrer’s administration, has their lips squarely planted upon B.M.’s kiester – one could assume there would be no prosecution.

Al Gore is the man who told the world if we didn’t go ahead and install his policies regardless of the election, thousands of people could die, and that his information came from the top levels of government employees.
He used the authority of employment by the government as meaning their and his words carried more weight than other people because they were somehow “the biggest cahuna”.
Al Gore told his followers that if people didn’t listen to his energy market manipulation scam when he did his comeback from losing the election tour, his followers were bound by their duty to refuse to be bound by old limits of action and even if it meant bending or even breaking the law,
his policies should be installed in spite of the election. Those who resisted would be broken financially by the losses incurred.
Just like Al Qaeda Al Gore wanted his policies installed, his energy ones anyway, regardless of the election Not installing them meant admitting you deserved to die from whatever happened to you and made you personally responsible for people’s deaths in storms on the other side of the planet. The tiniest infraction of ‘Gores Law of Climate Sin’ was justification to be labeled and likened unto anything and anybody.
Just like Al Qaeda, Al Gore wanted his followers to break the law if required: the old regimes had to be toppled, dragged down by the people who realized how important Al Gore’s word was.
Just like Al Qaeda, Al Gore wanted his followers to participate in economic paralyzation of those, resistant to Al Gore’s criminal ends: Al Gore’s ends were energy market manipulation trying to drive some value into the Occidental Oil stocks Senator Daddy Gore left Jr.
You know Occidental Oil: Third largest oil company in the United States , #2 oil supplier in California.
Why don’t ya ever hear of Occidental Oil, third largest Oil company in the U.S?
Well, because Occidental Oil has forty percent of it’s holdings in Alternative Energy.
Al Gore’s daddy left Al Jr. some ALTERNATIVE ENERGY STOCKS, so when Jr. lost the election and did his comeback tour he figured where else to start but pumping some value into those long neglected inheritance stock?
So he did. He tried to pump the Alternative Energy market so he could get back some money from that expensive election he lost. He needed to get relevant again, get cozy with a new class of chicks, who didn’t know how cozy Jr Bear likes his …”interns” and “associates”..
So when Al saw what a terror campaign can do, particularly when it was so well timed along with the completely separate one by Al Qaeda, well you know – who could resist?
Not Al Qaeda.
Not Al Gore..
Al Gore : One of the most evil men since WW2.
