U.N. Delegate: a cold summer proves global warming

CFACT was at the Bonn climate conference (which collapsed by the way) interviewed a number of ahem, shall we say, “interesting” people.

They write:

At the UN Climate Conference in Bonn, Germany, we came across a delegate who explained that the unusual cold weather accompanying the conference (yes, the “Gore Effect” was out in force!) was a perfect example of how global warming is affecting our lives!

You have to watch it to believe it:

There you have it… its called RELIGION,
a belief system that blatently flies in the face of facts and fails to comprehend the meaning of the often repeated mantra.
In fact so repeated that the `light bulb` moment never happens due to the form of indoctrination Try replacing with “to make rain we must dance”

also, this delegate is SO attuned to the earth’s climate that she doesn’t seem to be aware that the German summer is generally somewhat cooler than summer in the Cook Islands.

My sister is a chemical engineer in the UK. She actually told me that the UK was so cold because of the arctic ice melt. That is the official explanation. The declining ice in the Arctic has pushed the gulf stream south. I told her that it must have really cold in the 20’s and 30’s in Britain because there was less Arctic ice then than now. No Answer.

The true problem that exists is that the alarmist wingnuts are WINNING! If everyone studied the observations, they would know that warming has ceased and it is not the 11th hour. They don’t want reality, they want their ideology. The main stream media refuses to report reality, so the low information voters support the wingnut candidates like Obama so he can save the world. Did anyone notice Obama just raised the price on carbon? Being right about the state of climate science is not enough, at some point true champions that are in the positions to effect change must step up. Otherwise, we all will just remain frustrated with a warped sense of “being right”. Even though it seems that more and more data proves AGW theory to be bad science, where’s the news stories to support that? This will continue to be a long, hard battle for years to come. Too much momentum to overcome anytime soon.

That is the face of a true climate change refugee. This is what the IPCC has created – a dependent class of world citizens beseeching handouts from the new magistrates of wealth distribution, the UN. Amazing, isn’t it, what the promise of a free trickle of coins can do to a population. The metric of success is to turn the entire population of the Cook Islands into believers like this pilgrim – cargo cult, no longer limited to Melanesia, is alive and well in the South Pacific, evidenced by the ritualistic gesture of the upturned palm.

Well actually the Bonn area should have 30 deg C and more at this time of year but has much less now, simply because it is much more cloudy than in a normal year. (I’m a hundred km from there so I know)
It turns out that it’s cooler when there are clouds. I blame it on a working Svensmark mechanism as we have the weakest solar maximum ever since beginning of the 20th century. It is surely not caused by CO2, as the CO2-rich years up to about 2010 were pretty warm and sunny.

AGW has always been a means to an end. It was never about saving the planet from overheating. The politicians that pay for research to support AGW, the scientists that make their living from the grants, and the despotic leaders of the third world, don’t care if AGW is real or not. They will stubbornly refuse to consider that it might be overblown, and they will never consider the idea of doing nothing about it.
AGW provides justification for numerous taxes, restrictions, construction contracts, tax rebates, electric and fuel rebates, redistribution of the wealth of the richest countries, and in general an endless stream of revenue to be doled out to those constituencies, organizations, and countries favored by the party in power. Money is power and this kind of potential cash cow is the ultimate power. Some of the delegates to the various taxpayers funded warmfests know the science doesn’t support their cause, but don’t care. The rest are clueless about the science but know they stand to reap great rewards if only they can continue to persuade the world’s most powerful liberals of their sincerity. To the clueless true believers, belief in AGW takes on the characteristics of religion. They will all keep spouting the party line as long as someone listens and might never openly admit they are wrong.

I suspect that this person is too young to have been around when ‘global warming’ was the meme d’jour and has been indoctrinated since the terminology being pushed is ‘climate change’.
Therefore, anything she deems ‘unusual’ is proof of ‘climate change’ and she is lost for rational argument when asked about global warming.
It seems to have been a good move on the warmistas part to morph their arguments to ‘climate change’ as it is all-encompassing.

“The Edgewater Resort & Spa is the best-known Cook Islands resort, offering affordable luxury on the sheltered west coast of Rarotonga. The Edgewater’s prime location puts Rarotonga’s natural splendour front and centre; the magnificent sunsets, the surrounding lush green mountains and the view over the white sandy beach and deep blue lagoon.Yet it’s not just the backdrop that makes The Edgewater Resort & Spa the best accommodation Rarotonga has to offer. What sets this premier Rarotonga resort apart is what Edgewater brings to this stunning island location: great dining, first-class entertainment, a dedicated kids’ club, health spa and sparkling pool. As the largest Rarotongan resort, Edgewater has more space, more activities and more to offer than any other Cook Islands holiday.”

Regarding the hype about cool weather being due to warming causing less ice in the arctic: There is more ice up there right now than in recent years. However I’ve noted a weak area right near the pole. If we are in a sixty year cycle, there may be patches of open water right up at the pole, as there were roughly sixty years ago when we got those pictures of submarines surfacing at the pole. And if there are open areas at the pole this summer, the total area of ice will not matter. There will simply be hype, hype, hype. So….strap on your helmets and prepare to counter, counter, counter.

In the fictitious public paranoia works file with the others. The hype has a neighbor of mine reacting to the fact that he didn’t get hail during a thunderstorm (that didn’t produce a unusual rain winds) while a neighboring community did get hail is proof that the weather is unpredictable and threatening because of climate change. Then they get mad when you point out that it’s normal for one town to get hit by a thunderstorm and another not. I’m a denialist because I won’t confirm his fear. I impatiently await the warming of the globe so that we all can enjoy the quality of Cook Island dancers at all Latitudes and Atitudes.

Not so uneducated in the Cook Islands!

They probably learn this attitude in New Zealand at New Zealand Universities. The New Zealand government has close ties with the Pacific Nations which involve grants etc for global warming and sea level rise research , I think. They don’t mention coral so much now ,though:-)
BTW The anti religion comments on this blog have the ring of the neo-marxist philosophy which is behind the Green philosophy. so maybe you shouldn’t go that way or you will get in a knot 🙂
The Green’s is a political philosophy which I sum up as “Science in the service of the State ” not science for the pursuit of knowledge. But I stand to be corrected.
In New Zealand where the news media are confirmed “Climate Change ” philosophy believers.
I hope it is not censored.
