More than a feeling…

You may recall this story:  Climate Craziness of the week – with the physical signature of UHI staring them right in the face, Mann & Borenstein go with their ‘gut’ instincts

Josh writes:

With several questions from MPs recently, see herehere and here,  on the statistical analysis supporting the Met Office’s claims about recent warming, it is probably time for the Met Office to do some revealing of evidence. Julia Slingo holds up the relevant papers on the subject.

”It goes up a little bit, down a little bit and wobbles about a lot. But it’s had no statistical significance for over fifteen years.’

Is there a problem with what was actually said:
was it “gut” feeling or “butt” feeling?
Just wondering out loud.
🙂

Better their guts than their brains – guts don’t get all confused. It has actually yet to be shown that either of these two have any guts. They don’t seem to have the courage to admit their
intellectual and emotional problems, at any rate. Not worth dealing with, except to poke fun
at their publicly displayed ignorance. Borenstein’s previous declaration of “No more snow”
will follow him to his grave, if there’s any justice.

“A nation of sheep begets a government of wolves” ~Edward R Murrow
We have a group of government funded pseudo-scientists using their PhD sheepskins to hide the government Carbon tax wolf. Control of this funding is by the “Lester” wolves who currently direct entire the federal government. For more on this control network see, “Lesterland” by Harvard Law Professor, Lawrence Lessig.

We have a science problem….because we have a government problem.

When they agree to debate properly, then they’ll have guts.

I could have gone all day without the image of the mann behind the purple vase. It’s disgusting! That’s a significant revelation I didn’t need.

Josh, Anthony, everybody – ridicule Mann and friends 24/7/365. The more ridicule the better.

Ad hominem abuse should not be encouraged.
Faiures of leadership, of scientific method, of tying one’s colours to the sinking mast of Cagw – those certainly, can be lampooned – mercilessly, I trust.
Has the Great Slingo managed to explain the Bishop Hill comments?
Has there been any ‘statistical time-series analysis’?
Or is the MetOffice’s position that of divine right [‘We’re Cagw believers, Muftis, Archbishops, Grand Archdruids, Archimandrites and all, so your query is impertinent and wrong-headed and deserves ignoring – if not caramelization!’??].

Fisker: the Solyndra syndrome…
http://news.yahoo.com/republicans-slam-u-bet-electric-carmaker-fisker-005843871–finance.html
“(Reuters) – Republican lawmakers said the U.S. government missed early warning signs that its loans to electric carmaker Fisker Automotive could be in trouble, and kept money flowing even after the startup missed a key 2011 production deadline.
Members of the House Oversight Committee cited Department of Energy documents at a hearing on Wednesday as showing Fisker got $32 million in payments, even after it failed to launch the Karma vehicle in February of 2011 as planned. (…) The sporty Karma’s $100,000-plus price tag and trappings of Hollywood glamor also drew barbs.
“Taxpayers effectively subsidized luxury, novelty vehicles for the likes of Justin Bieber, Leonardo DiCaprio and Al Gore,” said Jim Jordan, the Republican from Ohio who chairs the subcommittee which held the hearing.
Under fire is the DOE’s decision in 2009 to grant the company a $529 million loan only to see it veer toward failure – a chain of events that echoed Solyndra, the U.S. government-backed solar manufacturer that went out of business in 2011.”

[Re: THE POLITICAL BATTLE — GO TO at least next post for more science]
Hello, Joseph Olson, I watched the nicely done video you posted at 0833 above. In case anyone else watched it and has become despondent, I write here to encourage them: THERE IS yet, despite Lesterism, HOPE. All the Lesters have to win in the “General Election.” If a majority of voters will only vote for a science-accurate candidate, the Funders will not fund Climatology Lesters, for Funders want to win. While Funders may fund Lying Lesters who pretend to be for truth in science (but do the Funders’ fantasy-science-based bidding once in office), the Funders will have to find Liars without a record of agreeing with the Cult of Climatology. Even if they do find such a Liar (who is also “electable” , articulate, clean, you know…) ONCE, given their candidate’s betrayal of the voters’ mandate, in each subsequent election, the Funders will have to find new electable Lying Lesters over and over (and that’s not as easy as one might think).
Also, most of the Funders (Bill Gates and George Soros and two or three others of their heft will not fund enough between them to create an unassailable majority — many states’ voters are far too anti-socialist for that and many local political machines guard their own turf) own or heavily invest in business endeavors. Educating the public so they refuse to buy fantasy-science companies’ products or refuse to invest in their companies’ stock will reduce the number of Fantasy Science Lesters: Funders will abandon Lying Lester when it is pointless. That is, if the public won’t buy their “green” stuff anymore, why bother with rules that force retail outlets to stock it? (the public can buy non-green from other states or countries)
Also, the Executive branch candidate (the POTUS) is not so easily at the Fantasy Science Funders’ beck and call as a senator or representative is, for the nation as a whole votes for that office. A pro-TRUTH-IN-SCIENCE president can clean up at EPA and all the other Exec. administrative agencies to rid the federal gov’t. of the Enviro – nahtzee bureaucrats. With truth-in-science majorities in House and Senate, elected because PUBLIC EDUCATION WORKED, along with the truth-in-science pres. the Clean Air Act, the ESA, ethanol regs., CO2 café regs, and on and on CAN BE CHANGED.
Thus, WE CAN WIN THROUGH PUBLIC EDUCATION.
Why did I bother writing all this obvious stuff? Because videos like the one about the Lesters create a falsely pessimistic view of what we can do to set our economy FREE and perhaps someone besides me watched it and has become discouraged. Defeatism is powerful. WE CAN BEAT THE “FUNDERS” and TRUTH WILL WIN if we keep up the fight.
Think positively! The war is not lost. Fight on O noble truth-tellers of WUWT and there WILL be “a new day in America.”

So I will.
You see, Mann is chief kingpin of a brotherhood I call the Anthropogenic Catastrophic Genocidal Warmistas and has pools of blood on his hands. His malfeasance is inexcusable but he resorts to gargantuan egotism as justification, along with bag of cash–he’s really a paid assassin.
The only ad hominem abuses sufficient to rebuke this “climate scientist” would get this comment snipped. But please, invoke your imagination, by all means!
