Friday Funny – Green Eco Porn (no, really)

From the Guardian, where they’ll print anything as long as its green…

Porn used to spread the green message: ‘The eco-sex activists who want to save the world…’F*ck for Forest film to use porn to spread their green message’

The eco-sex activists who want to save the world

F*** for Forest use porn to spread their green message. In a new documentary, they are taken to the Amazon to meet a threatened Peruvian tribe. But how can they rescue the planet when they can barely look after each other?

‘Blood and sperm. The perfect mix,’ says a tattooed hippy…Life-giving fluids we are all so afraid of. We’re so afraid of ourselves! It’s all organic.’  — ‘A new documentary, ‘F*ck for Forest’, detailing the activities of the group of the same name. They enjoy confronting society with sex, nudity and bodily fluids, but what F*** for Forest (FFF) really want to do is save the world’.

Few people would imagine any overlap exists between pornography and environmentalism, but FFF smash the two concepts together right there in their brutally blunt name. It’s a concise signifier of what they do and how little they care about what you think of it. The live displays are a sideline; funds are primarily raised via their website, which has images and videos of its core staff members and whatever volunteers they pick up on the street in myriad sexual permutations, from naked people up trees to chaotic orgies. Subscribers pay about £10 a month, and the proceeds go towards rainforest conservation projects in South America.

More here, if you can stomach it

Some might say “C’est la vie“, personally I think they deserve the freedom to be able to go f*** themselves. 😉

It sounds to me like they plan to save the world by making people sick of sex and by spreading fertility-destroying venereal diseases to reduce the population. Saving the forest is just a front.

1st Law: Always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
2nd Law: The probability that a certain person be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
3rd Law: A stupid person is a person who caused losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
4th Law: Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular non-stupid people constantly forget that (at all times and places and under any circumstances) to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.
5th Law: A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.

What do greens say after sex? “Sorry”.
What do sceptics say after sex? “Sorry”.
So what is the difference? …
well the facts were the same except …
Sceptics weren’t expecting much but they have to say sorry, because they are so embarrassed it went up … and doesn’t seem to want to go down.
Greens say sorry because they boasted how big is was going to get it all looked so promising but failed to impress.

Ha, irony and perfect timing.
I am currently reading a gripping book:
Noble Savages – My life among two dangerous tribes – the Yanomamo and the enviromentalists anthropologists” by Napolean A. Chagnon (yes a French Canadian name).
In it, he describes his experiences and study of the Yanomamo Indians on the Venezuela/Brasil border in the Amazon. They were basically a stone age people with slash-and-burn agriculture and the tribes were continuously at war with each other, over sex, frankly.
These enviromentalists should read this book in their hotel in Manaus rather than make any pretences or false claims about nature. Life wasn’t all they believe it to be as a “Noble Savage”. Savage it certainly was … noble?

Furthermore, I want to make it clear that this was strictly an intellectual pursuit. How weasely does that sound? But I kid you not when I say that I discovered that the ancients did indeed construct sex dolls. Made of wood. Perhaps an exotic wood. How they dealt with the splinters I’ll never know. Ooh. Ouch. Somehow i don’t think Kevin Trenberth’s science is out of place on a porno thread.
Kevin Trenberth Loses His Strawberries
As greenhouse gases still accrete
This captain of the climate wars
Is searching for the missing heat
That he believes the ocean stores
The missing heat’s the missing key!
Why ice will melt and swell the tides!
The Kraken that he knows must be!
That Davy Jones’ locker hides!
(The soul’s more heavy than we think
A truth that everyone must face
And to what depths a soul may sink!
O! To what dark and dismal place!
Our Captain Trenberth can’t withstand
The stress of twenty thousand leagues
He tumbles in his restless hand
The three steel balls that once were Queeg’s
MY GEOMETRIC LOGIC PROVES
HEAT TELEPORTS FROM PLACE TO PLACE!
FROM SKIES INTO THE DEPTHS IT MOVES
AND IN BETWEEN IT LEAVES NO TRACE!)
(When silent faces stare at you
Its best like Queeg to shut your jaw
But Trenberth’s rant is never through
For he believes they stare in awe!}
It is possible that some people may not be familiar with the courtroom scene in The Caine Mutiny.

From wiki (yeah, yeah.I know. But at least it isn’t about cAGW)
“The term noble savage (French, bon sauvage) expresses the concept of an idealized indigene, outsider, or “other” and refers to the literary stock character. In English, the phrase first appeared in the 17th century in John Dryden’s heroic play, The Conquest of Granada (1672), wherein it was used by a Christian prince disguised as a Spanish Muslim to refer to himself, but it later became identified with the idealized picture of “nature’s gentleman”, which was an aspect of 18th-century sentimentalism. The noble savage achieved prominence as an oxymoronic rhetorical device after 1851, when used sarcastically as the title for a satirical essay by English novelist Charles Dickens, whom some believe may have wished to disassociate himself from what he viewed as the “feminine” sentimentality of 18th and early 19th-century romantic primitivism.[3]
In other words, the first leftard and their socializing the real world.
As to these FFF loons, looks like they ran afoul of a bunch of woodpeckers in the woods. Unfortunetly, the poor woodpeckers died,as they do fare well feeding on empty spaces and hot air.

This is FANTASTIC.
NOTHING could better show, in the rawest way possible, the true nature of Environmentalism, better than this.
The most rudimentary Primaevalism.
Rutting arbitrarily with whatever is encountered in the seething Primordial Jungle.
The act of sex itself being the entire expression of these animals relationship with existence.
Serving everything including being the only true manner of supplication to the Higher Things that can be imagined by these organisms.
NO-ONE who has any residual humanity will be able to aware of this and believe there is any commonality between these beings and the higher functioning homo sapien known as humans.
They have completely devolved.
This should be seen by as many as possible. Those who actually think they can be human will have a stark choice.
The oozing up of this primaeval slime now shows it is End of Days for Environmentalism. Or in terms suited to that debased condition, draining of the swamp.
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! Someone should do an – OBJECTIVE – documentary on THEM. David Attenborough?

The Amazon is not most people’s idea of a good place for a bit of what the Brits call rumpy-pumpy, anyway. Bitey ants, mosquitoes and zillions of other bugs, stinging plants, snakes and spiders. No thanks.

April 12, 2013 10:24 pm

For those – almost by necessity to not be appalled and filled with trepidation about the fact that such beings actually exist – who want to categorize this as some arbitrary occurrence unrelated to the “mainstream”, I would say there is no such comfort.
This IS Environmentalism. It just makes manifest what is normally less observable, and in most, for those not possessed in totality by this state, less of an absolute in what constitutes their nature. That is why it is at home in the Guardian.
Sorry to go on, but for me this whole issue of CAGW and the inseperable associated elements of conceptions of people, society and reality, are all based on this degradation. To see it in the full light of day is the only hope there is of eradicating it. Great news!

From their first burst unto the scene (literally speaking) at a 2004 Norwegian rock festival, taking center stage as some kind of interlude act during the concert of a Norwegian media favorite and provocateur rocker they have an embarrassment to us more staid Norwegians. They have taken their selfstyled Performance Act to a number of more local venues over the years, always getting the attention they crave but for some reason (sarc is on..) not so much to the cause they are promoting.
Lessons learned:
1) Not all means will work efficiently for the cause. Getting a lot of attention is only the first step, it need to transfer to the cause and not stick to your attentiongrabbing act.
2) This is how you get Guardian coverage, (into wikipedia for that matter).
Before any skeptic, lukewarmer, coolhead or denier start getting ideas please note. This will get you in the Guardian but you will not get welvilling, extensive coverage of your cause or intentions.

“I don’t think a post that says ‘look at how dumb the greenies are’ is helpful or honest. It’s cherry-picking and shows a bias that I wish I didn’t see here.”
Let’s TALK a little about green honesty, Anton.
Anton, when has a Green argued with logic or data he didn’t make up first? I honestly don’t remember. When has a German Green during the post Fukushima protests used a word like milliSievert, you know, a physical unit? I honestly don’t remember. I do remember that Greenpeace once used a physical unit, metric tons – they said the Brent Spar contained 2,000 tons of oil residues when Shell wanted to sink it. But it was a lie, it was only 20 tons; Greenpeace just invented two zeros.
Do you think I’m cherrypicking? Where do leaders of the German Green party come from politically? Kretschmann? was a communist before; Fischer, the same, Trittin, the same – hmm, am I cherrypicking? They’re all communists and make up facts as needed. Once they gain political power, they don’t stop lying – Fischer obediently spouted any lie the NATO PsyOps department wanted him to spout during the war against the Serbs.
Or do we want to talk about Fischer’s past as leader of the Frankfurt autonome’s Putztruppe where he was responsible for an attack that left a young policeman crippled, and later, when confronted with accusations in the Bundestag, he said “Oh I just threw some stones in the air”.

I don’t know if its just you; hopefully such things are widely known and the implications discussed in Germany.
Here in Australia, there is one member (of the lower house) who is an officially branded Green. He is known, and it has been mentioned rather than reported by the media, to have produced a paper outlining how some (unknown to me) Marxist group should use the Greens as an avenue to power. Which is exactly what he has done.
Although the “conservative” press occasionally refers to communists etc as being a part of the Greens, this is always as a sort of general reference without real examination.
Somehow it is simply “not polite” to actually look at what people have said and done, and what they really are.
If the people concerned say “oh that was then”, it is left at that. This applies to the Prime Minister herself who long after any excitement around student days, into her 30’s, was a major organizer behind a Socialist group. But that doesn’t matter because she says it doesn’t.
Regardless of what it was, it matters what people thought or did when they were 20, 25 or 30. To pretend otherwise is walking blindly into servitude in this case.

The best way to help the rainforest is leave it alone after harvesting the valuable trees. It grows back, on its own, without help.

We call it dogging over here, best avoided. The Amazon has enough hazards as it is, the infamous Candiru fish for one…

“Failure to put climate on G8 agenda will cast a shadow on ‘greenest government'”
“According to Faith Birol, chief economist at the International Energy Agency, the world has just four years to implement the changes necessary to avoid a temperature increase above 2C. If we wait any longer, we will lock ourselves into high-carbon infrastructure that takes us above this threshold. Two degrees constitutes a level of warming referred to as a “dangerous” by scientists. All major countries agreed in Copenhagen that temperature rises should be limited to below this level”

Now we have 4 years to save the planet…..

Anthony! You need to warn me when you are going to blog about porn. My anti hack software banned everyone whose referrer contained the word porn!!
(I need a white list that skips the referrer check for known blogs. You and the Bishop periodically use words Zaphod considers highly correlated with porn referrer spam!! Actually, I should probably just get rid of the referrer spam section. That’s never hacking. Just referrers spam.)

For guys wondering about lost posts, including the estimable jc, this is a new system and there will be some glitches. I have had no problems except Anthony spanking me again.

mods: no appearance of lost comment notified at 3.46am.
I did wonder if the new system means that because mods don’t now need to look at posts that appear automatically like my previous note, they may never be aware of such things. Interesting conundrum! But if I use a swear word to make sure it doesn’t post automatically, is this then dumped sight unseen, achieving nothing? What else can be done?!

jc
April 13, 2013 5:26 am

mods: I will try something that may be (I don’t know) borderline to see if can thread the needle between being auto posted and being dumped. Just so you know what I’m taking about, refer to thread. Sh..t. What will The Algorithmic make of that?

jc
April 13, 2013 5:28 am

mods: I’ve failed. The Algorithmic has some tolerance. Again, if this penetrates, refer to thread.

jc

mods: will try Lauries treatment above. As before, see thread to make sense of this. Sh*t.

Why is that film made in the tropics and not in the Arctic region where Climate Change is felt the most?
Oh Sorry! I get it! Having sex in the open Arctic environment is virtually impossible. That’s why these hippies need a GREENHOUSE to do it.
I am ashamed of being human after seeing that trailer. It shows absolutely no respect for life whatsoever.

For the climate uncommitted, a look at the kind of people on either side of the issue is instructive. Represented by people like Gleick, Joe Romm, Al Gore and Michael Mann; science like Lewandowsky, Oreskes, Doran & Zimmerman, and Marcott & Shakun; and advocates like Jim Hansen and F**k for Forests, the CAGW side doesn’t have much appeal for thinking persons.

“…from naked people up trees to chaotic orgies…”

I had always imagined that orgies were chaotic by definition. Who would want to go to a highly organized and choreographed orgy?

I wont presume to know exactly how you feel.
For me, if looked at beyond the symbolism or evidence of degradation, it is a forlorn sight.
There is a sense of desperation to these people. As though they just have nothing at all of any substance to hang their lives from.
Even where they try to attach meaning to these random couplings that puts them in some sort of wider context, it is just comes across as casting about for anything. How can they possibly maintain the idea to themselves that sexuality is suppressed in contemporary Europe? Leaving aside someones particular family circumstances, there have been no prohibitions at all since before they were born.
They have just one thing they can do. Mate. But going through the motions without any result. And it is not just one or two, something over 1000 have been actively part of this, with no doubt many many more to whom it makes some sort of sense.
They even had Govt. funding to start this: “Look what you can do with your lives”.
It is unutterably dismal.
I don’t mean this comment to be the start of some analysis, just to let you know that you are not alone in your response.

CAPTAIN TRENBERTH LOSES HIS STRAWBERRIES
(see the courtroom scene from The Caine Mutiny)
As greenhouse gases still accrete
This captain of the climate wars
Is searching for the missing heat
That he believes the ocean stores
He’ll prove to all humanity
That danger in the deep resides
The Kraken that he knows must be
That Davy Jones’ locker hides
(The soul’s more heavy than we think
A truth that everyone must face
And to what depths a soul may sink!
O! To what dark and dismal place!)
Our Captain Trenberth can’t withstand
The stress of twenty thousand leagues
He tumbles in his restless hand
The three steel balls that once were Queeg’s
MY GEOMETRIC LOGIC PROVES
HEAT TELEPORTS FROM PLACE TO PLACE
FROM SKIES INTO THE DEPTHS IT MOVES
AND IN BETWEEN IT LEAVES NO TRACE!
(When silent faces stare at you
It’s best like Queeg to shut your jaw
But Trenberth’s rant is never through
For he believes they stare in awe)
