I’ve given the lads on James Dlingpole’s DT thread a pointer to these two cartoons. We still have one clown directing us to Marcott’s defence on Real Climate. Jeez.

I’m starting to feel a bit sorry for these kids now… They’re cannon fodder.

Can’t stiffen a bucket of spit with buckshot or that paper with an FAQ.

Good one Josh, but I assure you that is the wrong finger Marcott is holding up at us.

Unbelievably, AP, The Guardian, and The New York Times write about the latest study showing no AGW as if it vindicated their years of hysteria. What can one do with such blatant prevarication?

The BBC tells us gladly that Antarctic melting is causing the Antarctic icegrowth. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-21991487 That must be an april fools.

Marcott has certainly earned this cartoon. Maybe a couple more, too.

They are all finaly starting to learn the old trial lawyers’ maxim:
If the facts are on your side but the law is against you, argue the facts;
If the law is on your side but the facts are against you, argue the law;
If neither the facts nor the law are on your side, attack the credibility of the opponent’s expert witness

Funny how Antarctica melting results in more sea ice, and Greenland and the arctic ice melting causes more snow in Europe (albeit at the end of a long winter re-freeze of the arctic icecap)…..
These guys seem to manage come up with a “logical” explanation for everything.

Okay, I’m confused. BBC has an article that says, “Melt may explain Antarctica’s sea ice expansion” — This is because colder, fresh melt water is less dense than salty, warmer sea water and it accumulates on the surface and turns to ice …. thus providing the ‘extra’ ice that Antarctic has been experiencing for the last decade or so. I’m not sure about this, but, I learned in school that colder water is denser than warmer water and that fresh water mixes with salt water ( it isn’t anti-social).
Count me a little confused.

Petrossa, I don’t think the BBC story is an April Fool; this is normal output for the BBC. They are so convinced of Global Warming that any explanation, however ridiculous, gets air time.
As Sherlock Holmes said

“It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts”.

The BBC is convinced about Global Warming and so it will continue to twist the facts to suit its theory – insensibly or not.
As for ‘Bloke down the Pub’s Daily Telegraph link, this is an April Fool story but, unfortunately, the hysteria about climate change is becoming so hysterical that it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell what the UK Government is going to do next…..

With supreme irony, our Beeb refers to its source for that story as a “peer-reviewed paper”, so it must be correct, mustn’t it?

If increased land ice melt increases sea ice then why is the sea ice retreating in the Arctic where it actually has had some land ice melting. Inquiring minds want to know.
