Wow. Didn’t realise so many people died from fuel poverty in the UK… 2,700 people frozen to death, thanks to people like Al Gore, Phil Jones, and Michael Mann. Just as you probably don’t understand that the well-funded and organized denial machine is a fantasy, you probably don’t understand that humor can be serious opposition. I’m not sure you know what polemic means either. Let’s try a substitution with the definition:

Since virtually every aspect of ‘the settled science’ continues to be sensibly and scientifically challenged here the odd laugh now and again is perfectly acceptable.
The attempt to use CO2 as Occam’s razor to cut the Gordian knot of climate complexity has left a very large number of loose ends. WUWT does an excellent job in showing the weight of scientific evidence identifying those loose ends.
This is one section of the BBC trying to lessen the impact of bad news by releasing it when another part of the BBC is reeling from ongoing investigations of paedophilia. Typical.

Since US anti-skeptic book author Ross Gelbspan seems to be so often found as the central source of the accusation that skeptic climate scientists are corrupt (as I pointed out in my #2 WUWT guest post http://bit.ly/SA5Bfs ), and he seems to have had an audience at the BBC within months of the BBC 28 seminar ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/reports/politics/montreal2_20051129.shtml ), it makes me wonder if he had any input – directly or indirectly – with that bunch. In reference to your statements, exactly what part of WUWT is it that you don’t read? The part with the words in it? That would be my guess, at least.
The problem is that it’s now a political football. No politician is willing to alienate the voters who have been suckered, sorry… who truly believe in AGW.

This is Mr Monbiot’s statement in full.
“I have helped to malign an innocent view of the climate and the mechanisms that regulate it. I have done a few stupid things in my life, but nothing as stupid as this. The tweets I sent which hinted – as I assumed to be the case – that the climate was warming were so idiotic that, looking back on them today, I cannot believe that I wrote them.
But I did, and they are unforgiveable. I helped to stoke an atmosphere of febrile innuendo around a stable climate and I am desperately sorry for the harm I have done to the reputation of science. I am not sure how this breaks up and what proportion is due to not affording to heat their homes. However, it does indicate how cold will affect us if the temperature significantly falls over this and the next decade.
They even went to court, spending what by common estimates is well into hundreds of thousand pounds of license payer’s money, and secured a favourable decision from a panel of so-called independent judges, one of whom seems to think that habitually referring to climate realists as deniers, didn’t somehow disqualify them from acting impartially.
