Skeptical Science to be featured on National Talk Radio

But it isn’t what they hoped for because it is about ‘…we need a conspiracy to save humanity‘.

Brought to his attention due to my shoddy treatment after appearing on PBS with a reasoned response, nationally syndicated radio talk show host Lars Larson with 150+ stations and a 2.5 million audience is going to feature Skeptical Science’s now infamous ‘…we need a conspiracy to save humanity‘ rant on his program today.

He runs a tongue in cheek “Conspiracy Theory Thursday” segment each Thursday and he’s noted that this need for an SkS conspiracy to save the planet fits right in.

Here’s how you can listen on a station near you, listen on the web, and call in.

The people who run PBS have witnessed the rants coming from the warmist camp and have been exposed to ludicrous claims, eg they’re paid by big oil to do the show you were on. I wonder if some of them now have a clearer idea of where the truth is coming from in the climate debate.

September 20, 2012 10:29 am

Link to “We need a conspiracy etc.” isn’t working.
It seems to me that a few more holes in the warmists’ dyke are appearing – with luck they will run out of fingers soon to stick in the holes and the flood of truth will start at long last.
REPLY: Fixed, thanks – Anthony

Excellent! Maybe Anthony can get Lars to cover the Lewdandorky story too.

What time is “Skeptical Science’s … rant” on? “Noon to 3pm” is three hours of listening just (I guess) to catch the interesting bit.

And have a look at the comments below Josh’s great cartoon. There’s plenty more fascinating quotes there.

Is there an on-line listen for those of us in civilisation and not in the colonies 😉
(note tongue in cheek here please….)

What is the difference between their reaction to Anthony Watts and that of the extreme muslim fundamentalists to magazines and films? None!

Has the conspiracy theory segment already aired? He’s currently chatting with Mayor of Gresham.

Ha Ha, this is almost as good as,
1. Mann’s hockey-stick fiasco,
2. Connolly was banned from editing climate related articles on Wikipedia,
3. Phil Jones admitted he destroyed the original raw data and can’t even reproduce his own product,
4. Climategate version 1.0,
5. Al Gore buying a condo 3 ft above sealevel,
6. Doran spinning a survey of 77 people into 97% scientific concensious,
7. Climatgate 2.0,
8. Scientific Ethicist Glieck committing wire fraud, identitity theft, and probably document forgery in the Heartland affair,
9. Lewandowsky beating out Doran in the survey buffoonery contest;
you just can’t make stuff like this up.

Paul Jackson left a lot of the funnies out, but that list cracked me up.

Watch from 2:28 to the end for Lewandowsky’s take on the SkS breach of the Cone of Silence.

No, you really can’t make this stuff up.

Useful to hear the man speak because in the video Lewandowsky comes across as a few tiles short of the roof, much more so than with just the written word…

Just a plug for Lars, he’s a local for me and man is he fun to listen too. He’s very well informed and can debate with the best of them. He’ll put naysayers to the front of the line then neatly wrap them up. They tend to end up spitting and sputering or changing the topic every 30 seconds.
Lars also cover topics that no other new outlets don’t wants to touch. Matter of fact he’s broke a lot of stories and will be talking about it for a week or two before the MSM finally gets shamed into covering it.
My only regret is since i changed jobs i can no longer listen to his entire show on a regular basis.

I was contributing over at Bishop-Hill when that release was made about 6 months back now. It was frustrating knowing what lied within but everyone here at WUWT wasn’t privy to it (unless they went to BH). Moral stands are good but in this case, as can be seen now, the cost wasn’t worth it. And given the contents they (sks) really didn’t deserve the favour.

Meanwhile, at SKS…

John Hartz at 02:26 AM on 21 September, 2012
The amount of funding avaialable for science pales in comparison to the Trillions of dollars in income that the fossil fuel industry has generated over the past couple of centuries and will generate under a “Business as Usual” scenario in the future.

The fossil fuel industry generates Fossil Fuels! John guess how that screen you’re staring at manages to stay bright?
He talks as if science and fossil fuels are at odds with each other, good and evil. Show me science without fossil fuel, the fuel and the income it generates. Welcome to the middle ages.

I agree with DaveA (7.34pm) about the frustration. There were just three of us digging the dirt on SkS on the BishopHill thread when the secret TreeHut files became available. There was gold in there: I spotted Cook’s infatuation with Lewandowsky dating from two years ago, and their plan to “kick the ants nest” by launching a denier bot on climate blogs. Cook also mentioned how George Monbiot had got John Abraham’s Climate Rapid Reaction Force to write one of his articles for him.
Part of the problem lies in the very success of blogs like WUWT and Bishop Hill. No sooner has a thread got going than something else pops up. It takes a critical mass of half a dozen total obsessives to hang around comparing notes until the story breaks.

That video is Lewandowsky himself speaking? Wow, I had no idea he was such a looney tune. Lol!

I’ve just watched the above video link of the amazing ( sarc ) Mr Lew……
I’m flabbergasted! His demeanour is such that I’m instantly reminded of Poe’s law (http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Poe%27s_Law). Given that he’s apparently sincere, the whole 3+ minutes is an amazing insight into his mind set and confirmation biases. If you haven’t watched already please spare a few minutes, it’s a revelation.

Haha! I though it was from a study of a syndrome. The Goebbels Syndrome.
