Here’s an eyewitness account of the march that walked backwards. From the Resident Judge of Port Phillip:
Yes, there we were on a day that seemed particularly un-globally warm, with our hands on the shoulders of the person in front of us, walking back wards along the length of the City Square.
Walk with the people, not the polluters! Climate action now! (Ouch, ouch!)
as the person in front of me (aka Mr Judge) stepped on my toes as we were were “moving backwards” for climate change, as distinct from “moving forward” as we all were at the start of this election campaign a very l-o-n-g five weeks ago.
(There’s Mr Judge looking all rugged up for global warming to the left of the woman holding the white banner). Back, back we shuffled, “walk with the people…” etc. until I could feel the crowd pressing behind me. Was there about to be a dreadful crush? “Tree, tree” hissed someone behind me, and sure enough I turned round to find myself pressed up against one of the few spotted gums that survive the blasted heath of our so-called City Square.

Inconveniently, a few climate sceptics showed up to spoil the cold and backwards event . Hmmm, seems “OK” when these guys and this guy does it.

Police were called in to break up a scuffle between protesters at the Walk Against Warming in Adelaide.
About half a dozen police arrived in Victoria Square just after the start of the rally, aimed at raising awareness on climate change and the environment.
John Rice, organiser with the Climate Emergency Action Network, said climate change sceptics had arrived unexpectedly to disrupt the rally.
One had pushed his megaphone into his face, prompting him to call police.
The sceptics, who numbered fewer than half a dozen, wore T-shirts bearing the words CRAP (Carbon Really Ain’t Pollution). One of them led what appeared to be a Rottweiler cross.
A police spokesman later said the sceptics had “crashed” the event, causing a disturbance, but no one was charged with an offence.
The rally, which attracted several hundred people, was one of a series of Walk Against Warming events happening nationally.

Walking backwards is very prophetic. Because by listening to these so-called scientists, science has been taken back to before the Renaissance. If they keep going backwards, science will be back to what it was at the stone age.

As an aside, I attended a rally on Saturday at Tweed Heads in NSW, a fishing community which is about to be shut down because of ridiculous No Take zones being established by Labor to shore up the Green vote. A Green candidate showed up, and damn near got beaten up.
I believe we should allow protests, but if we disagree with the issue being protested, we should stay away.

Not sure if this has been commented on yet at WUWT but the New Zealand Climate Coalition has anounced that they are taking NIWA (National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research) to the High Court (in NZ) to seek a declaration that NIWA must correct deficiencies in the temperature indices that are compiled from surface station data. This has been reported on National Radio and TVNZ.
Climate change is cyclical. While record highs and lows have occurred recently, average temperatures on planet Earth have been declining for several years. The temperatures on Venus and Mars mirror our current climate cycles. These guys should do some homework and stop accepting the B.S. pushed on them by people who want to create a world government and tax us to death because we choose to drive a car and heat and cool our homes.

99.9% of Australia is not habited by humans. It is a dry continent, second behind Antarctica I believe. But this year, we’ve had a 100 year wet event, the land is full and fertile, lake Eire is full. It’s not always sunny, we’ve had some pretty nasty weather this year, even during “summer”. This winter has been very cold, even I feel it and I survived the 1970’s “the next ice age cometh”, we’ve even had record early snow in the hills.

I’m guessing the backwards walking thing is in part a critique of Labour’s inaction on climate and its current election slogon ‘Let’s move Australia forward’. The Greens also have been running ads where people are walking forwards against a sea of ‘backwards’ people. There’s quite a lot of forward/backward moving symbolism in this years election. It’s all pretty ridiculous.

The reason for this backwards idea is because we are getting close to an election and the Labour party motto for this election is “[We are]Moving Forward”. But because they (Labour – Gillard the current female PM) renigned on the ETS (even though they said it is the greatest moral challenge of our time ) the marches are saying “not really” to moving forward were moving backwards. Get it !
The opposition (the Liberals) and in particular the Liberal leader Abbott is known to have stated that AGW is all “crap” although they have had to pretend they have a policy on it.
Don’t worry a vast number of Australians don’t believe in AGW and the numbers are increasing day by day.
About one in a thousand walked against warming in Hobart. The idiots got their wish, my thermometer is reading 1 degree (C).

When they get done, I would imagine they will all retire to a warm eco-friendly meeting center to warm themselves at a non-CO2 producing heat source, powered by solar or wind power. In the “Roaring 20’s” and the “Great Depression 30’s” people did all kinds of stupid stunts. We never really change, just the years. No doubt we’re in for more childish antics and idiot ‘causes’ in the 21st Century’s “Teen Decade” (the “Digit Decade” was really pretty lame). Well… we are, that is, if certain global nut cases don’t make everyone drop their cotton candy and pick up a rifle for a third bout of *World*Wide*War* insanity; talk about real hot manmade global warming…. people are idiots, sometimes.
A walking-backwards AGW protest march is a great idea. I’m going to organize one at Beachy Head. Successful participants will become immediately eligible for Darwin Awards.
Struck by the masses being struck by something they cannot have a clue about. What convinces people to believe what they cannot possibly comprehend, let alone recognize as true and make them march? A diffuse evasive concept such as “global warming” we are unlikely to be blamed for, antropogenic GHG are unlikely to be the main cause of and we pretty obvious know very little about and cannot do much about. Would make Jozef Geobbels jealous. Do these people want there to be problem? Is this filling the niche to fill up Christian need for sinn and repentence in the post religious era? Who has to be converted?
Meanwhile, shame on all of those who scare children. If there is a problem it is that children are being scared and abused for this kind of irrational propaganda. Should we ever find out GHG is really a problem we will deal with it, until then be gratefull for it.

The “Walk against warming” event in Adelaide had 200 people but different numbers in other cities. – That photo wasn`t Adelaide – The Adelaide crowd was much smaller
We had a banner- “you have been conned” which the greens screwed up so no photos were taken of it when we were in the crowd.
We had graphs on posters they went hysterical about having displayed .
We had 10 of us – one member with his pet labrador dog in the mob of 200 for about 15 minutes before the police came to chat to us.
My 25 year old son Nathan was wrestled and sat on by three guys.
We used no force or violence. They were pannicked about us being there.
