On 7 July, Sir Muir Russell will publish the findings of the Independent Climate Change Email Review into what is commonly known as the ‘Climategate’ Affair. The Global Warming Policy Foundation is holding a public meeting to assess the procedures, conclusions and implications of the Review and the lessons of Climategate.
Stephen McIntyre and David Holland are internationally recognised critics of the flawed expert advisory process that governments continue to rely on. Both are the subject of frequent references in the ‘Climategate’ emails (McIntyre is mentioned over 100 times) and both contributed written submissions of evidence to the Muir Russell inquiry. According to the BBC, McIntyre “arguably knows more about CRU science than anyone outside the unit – but none of the CRU inquiries has contacted him for input.”
The meeting will be chaired by Dr Benny Peiser, director of the Global Warming Policy Foundation.
About the Speakers
Stephen McIntyre
Stephen McIntyre, a Canadian citizen, is a mathematical statistician and the most prominent critic of the so-called Hockey Stick graph. Since becoming involved with climate change issues some years ago, he has become a leading and internationally recognised critic first, of the handling of data and the treatment of evidence by prominent and influential climate scientists, and second, of flawed IPCC procedures. Besides his numerous publications, he has made a major contribution to the debate through his prizewinning blog, ClimateAudit.
David Holland
David Holland is a retired engineer. He was a co-author of a leading critique of the Stern Review, and more recently has published a far-reaching criticism of IPCC methods and procedures.

They certainly didn’t want Stephen there. It was his daily readers and that “tip jar” they kept hitting which sent him off to the Home of the Commonwealth. Canada produces some amazing people. Stephen is the Mike Holmes of climate science. Not the most intelligent or lettered of any involving themselves in that field, just the one with the highest standards and bereft of the elitist attitude apparently necessary for the powers that be in the IPCC to give a listen.
Perhaps one of the speakers could note the following: I note that the mass media is presently going on about the heat wave in the East. Not a word about the unseasonably cold weather we are having here in Wyoming. We have not seen much of this cold wet July weather for about the last 15 years. July 6th and forty-five degrees this morning with rain (a good thing) and snow in the upper elevations. Since Wyoming supplies a huge portion of the country’s coal (clean coal at that) and over 50% of the electricity in the US is coal fired, we could really help the carbon footprint, nationally, if we stopped shipping the nasty stuff to the east. Of course then all those air conditioners presently being used back there would cease to function. Go ahead and punish us with Cap & Trade. Throw in LA, TX and OK as well and you may freeze in the winter and roast in the summer while having nothing to run the cars and campers you drive out here to escape the heat. It already costs a couple of thousand dollars in gas alone to drive one of the big campers here and back. Take care what you wish for as you might just get it.
I couldn’t help noticing the address of this event. Near to it is number 6-9 Carlton House terrace which is the home of the Royal Society. Anyone from there going?

What happens after Climategate?
A week ago today I walked the Antonine wall. It is 42miles long, we started at 5am – there is no official path and halfway along the route I took just happened to go down this very ordinary street in Falkirk (an inland town).
As we passed people along this apparent Cul-de-sac I realised that the people we passed would have absolutely no idea that we were walking across Britain in a day – they certainly wouldn’t realise that we were possibly the first people to Antonine walk the wall in a day since perhaps the Romans left 2000 years ago.
We probably looked like any other walkers going down a council estate Cul-de-sac at 9am and few people would have understood that we were on a much longer journey. Likewise Sir Muir Russell’s report will look as if it is a Cul-de-sac particularly for those who cannot imagine that there is a way out the end of the street to the other coast of Britain!

Has it occurred to anyone else that the Main Stream Media might make a lot of money by “EXPOSING” AGW as a political and economic fraud rather than shooting themselves in the proverbial foot trying to ‘make it happen’? The media today resemble a bunch of sports teams who have a terrible, money wasting record, but keep playing thanks to a bunch of rich owners who always wanted to own a team.
Blimey, I’m tempted. Could take the day off work and head for the big smoke. Not sure if I’ll be able to get home OK though. Maybe I’ll take a cardboard box with me and sleep on the streets.
The clowns and monkeys of the mainstream media circus do the bidding of their ringmasters, who in turn do the bidding of the circus owners.

I saw this quote the other day and thought it appropriate given the slow, slow downfall of AGW thanks to sites like this one and the work of people like Stephen McIntyre. One would hope we are close to winning:

Quite right, Rhys, if they were actually out to get someone they’d call it an investigation or a prosecution. That play was called from the start. Steve should watch out when he gets to Britain though, some environut might try to press charges against him in environmental court… thought I’m sure Prince Charlie has been told by Mum to be on his best behavior until she returns from her UN speech.

That’s exactly what I have been saying to myself for sometime now, and when this happens (not if), it will be the switch that would turn the artificial respirator off the clinically dead AGW theory.
