We all know that the bogus “97% consensus” number has been the staple bullet point of non-thinking climate activists everywhere. Now, I’m sure they will be thrilled to see that we have proof (with video) of a 100 percent consensus on climate.
In the video below, about 1 minute and 20 seconds in, Senator Jeff Sessions asks the $64,000 question of Democrat-invited EPA wonks during the Senate EPW hearing on Wednesday. He said:
The President on November 14th 2012 said, ‘The temperature around the globe is increasing faster than was predicted, even ten years ago.’ And then on May 29th last year he also said – quote – ‘We also know that the climate is warming faster than anybody anticipated five or ten years ago.’ close quote
So I would ask each of our former Administrators if any of you agree that that’s an accurate statement on the climate. So if you do, raise your hand.

Let us not forget that “reality” or “fact” has little meaning to the modern man. Just look around at all the utterly stupid things that your friends believe. The human mind creates a myth or filter by which it interprets incoming data. The method called “science”, when practiced correctly, is a way around our preconceived beliefs and a path toward finding the truth rather than the myth.
The myth that most warming activists or alarmists live by is that there are about 6 Billion too many humans on the planet (out of the 7.2 Billion) and we need to get rid of them. CAGW is only a stalking horse for cutting back on the industrialization that has allowed humanity to grow to its present size. It is for that reason that you will wait in vain for the day that anyone apologizes for the deaths in winter due to high energy costs in places like England.

I have often thought that the opening question (by say Andrew Neil, or the like) to the Energy Secretary should be ‘what have you got against the poor and elderly, such that you wish to see about 25,000 of these people die needlessly and prematurely each year’?
The follow up question should be ‘why do you so adamantly pursue energy policies that result in such a large number of premature deaths’?
You are right to point iut that these people deal in death. Unfortunately, the public do not appreciate this point, and if they did, it is likely that far fewer would support ‘Green@ energy policies.

It is rare enough to see any sort of sanity in climate issues, especially when it comes to officialdom. This was a breath of fresh air.
And of course, in my personal opinion the EPA has done a complete end-run around laws and their mandate to declare CO2 a pollutant. It’s shameful, it’s unlawful, and heads should definitely be rolling.

Um, I hate to be a party pooper but I’m not impressed. You see Obama came to Chicago to launch his political career. And I have little doubt that this mostest smartest president we ever had did so because he recognized that Chicago is the mostest enlightenedest city in the country. Heck, the world. The Universe, even. Chicago harkens to the very motto that expressed the sentiments of the colonies when they threw off the yoke of English oppression: ‘No taxation without representation.’ And, since we all know dead people are taxed (and unless you live in a parallel universe you’ll recognize that fact), Chicago has made it a priority to ensure that those dead people are counted in its elections. Yes, Chicago is so enlightened that it gives the right to vote to the dead. This is how some precincts can actually report vote counts that are over 100% of the registered voters. Now, I know what you’re thinking; ‘well, why don’t those dead people register then?’ And my answer is; ‘don’t be silly, do you have any idea how hard it is for a dead person to get to the precinct houses to register, let alone sign their names?’
So, unless there’s over, and I mean ‘over,’ a 100% consensus then I don’t think it means anything to Barry. I don’t see any dead people joining those former administrators in not raising their hands (um, I think maybe I should use different example, but anyway, you get what I mean).

Answer: By the mainstream media. If this were not a president they like talking about a cause they believe in, every misstatement would be highlighted and mocked prominently and repeatedly on news and entertainment shows, and in the newspapers.
Realize that “The OBAMA” is just a figure head of the Democratic Party. “The REID” is no different. Climate Change is the Democratic Party’s mantra. Is that party still the “party of the people?”

Our President is in the habit of saying things that sound good to him at the time but that turn out to be just bs. For example, the President said that the White House dog would be a mutt, “like me”, from a shelter yet the dog they got was a purebred that has never set foot in a shelter. The President is suppose to be the most powerful man in the free world yet he could not keep his word on something as trivial as the White House dog. The President gets his climate information from his advisor’s who are chosen based on their ideology and not their abilities. The reality is that global temperatures have been significantly lower than what the IPCC models have predicted and the IPCC doed not really know why. They have been guessing.

Absent a replacement for the subsidy of petroleum and coal, they will either be gotten rid of or just die of starvation, and the highest rate of attrition will be in the most developed nations. Transportation is the elephant in the room — no tractors on farms, no trucks or railroad. Every major city in the United States will become a ghost town. Where a difference can be found (warmist versus cautious) is one’s faith in a substitute such as solar power. This may arise from a form of modern subtle racism. I believe I observed something similar in Africa a few years after independence in the early 1960s. I was with the Geological Survey of Nigeria and the ministry offered field jobs to indigenous new geology graduates. I was assigned one to assist in the evaluation of a mineral deposit and quickly learned that these young people were being turned out without even the basic knowledge of simple surveying, mineralogy and structural geology. Their professors were European who clearly didn’t want to upset anyone by giving a bad grade or making students think and solve problems. The quality of their teaching was abominable. It was a time of 40 something virgin missionary ladies with sensible skirts and white ankle socks – misfits in their own countries- teaching grade school children to be barely literate, although they gave them a heavy dose of the gospel.
My grad assistant learned more from me in a few months than he had in 4 years of college. He complained a lot to start with and threatened to “report” me, but I used mornings to teach him geology, mineralogy and surveying and the afternoons practicing what he had learned on the project. I also sent a letter to the head of the geology department that the quality of their teaching was totally unacceptable if they were hoping to turn out self-starters.

Turkey buzzards can soar, …. as good or even better than an eagle. They can “ride” those thermals for hours n’ hours. And “sniffing” the air for rotting carcasses on the ground.

I approve of the 100% consensus. 97% would always have been a bit dodgy.
It was like the cures for baldness or acne, The medicines worked on 60% of the cases. Trouble was the bald and pimply men were always in the 40% that never worked.
Even the disinfectants that removed 99.99% of the germs, you were infected by the 0.01% that survived, while the disinfectant itself gave you cancer.
Its the same with 97%. Its sounds like the margin that Kim Jong-un or Kim Il-sung win their elections with. I would never settle for less than 100%. Now they can safely tax us and take away our freedoms. Hurray!

Actually Michael in quantum physics apples falling up cannot be completely ruled out. However in consensus science, pesky observations don’t even come into the picture. They are merely an inconvenient intrusion. Like the little boy who observed that the Emperor had no clothes, while 97% were discussing the qualities of his attire. Right now 97% agree that apples fall up. That’s not good enough. 100% should agree, just as 100% agreed the world was flat and the Sun moved around the Earth some time ago.

In my experience with network engineers this is remarkably common. The theory that I sort of subscribe to is that network engineering is left-brain and language is right-brain, skill in one tends to be rival with the other. Unfortunately, Cisco ISO is very language dependant so improving spelling skills seems important to network engineering.

With a kilowatt per square meter, even at 10 percent efficiency that’s 100 watts per square meter — in a square kilometer you have a million of these, or 100 megawatts extractable power using current technology in a square kilometer.
You don’t even need a grid. A few hundred megawatts of power can be harnessed to crack hydrogen from seawater down in the gulf of California. Use it for fuel cells in cars and trucks or anything in Washington State where the sun doesn’t shine much.
