Almost Friday Funny – rotten to the core

Josh writes:

Apologies for the lack of cartoons this month but I have been snowed under (!) with the day job. Even sadder when the Climate Blogosphere has had so much hilarious material on offer. This cartoon was inspired by Steve McIntyre’s posts on the Marcottian redating of cores. How do they get away with this stuff?

Or the climategate release layers.
Or the Gleick stratum.
There must be some grant money available to develop the stratigraphy.

No Gleikian ethics melt?
I suppose it’s had to distinguish from all the other ethics melts in the core.

The “Burn the Forests” Fuel Poverty era was a crowning touch.
So sad. So true.

Yea – where exactly is the heat that doesn’t appear in any layer we might be monitoring but will obviously have made its way to the depths (just below our monitoring systems). Travesty it is.

“Later Mann Period, settled science” should be heavily bioturbated. Nothing settled about that.

I’ve said it before: we need a new Douglas Adams for climate science. Straw men can be propped up against any onslaught with the exception of uncontrollable laughter from the general public. IN other words, we need to make this entire issue a laughing stock to the typical guy/gal on the street. Unfortunately, this latest example of Josh’s superb humour exceeds the knowledge of that least-vocal but most important group of political consitutents and wlil never become the “Tippicanoe” of this modern day.
Josh, you might be the man, I think. Keep cranking them out – at some point you will hit on the one which is to the point, readily and rapidly comprehensible to the typical middle school mentality of John Q, Public, encapsulates the wholly farcial underpinnings of post-modern environmentalism and instantly reveals to all and sundry the ludicrous Chicken Little-ness of the entire clan of eco-apocalyptic poltroons who are leading us in a backward march into a new dark age.

Very, very funny. And I see at least one other poster has noted the still-missing heat. 🙂

I believe the missing heat has been entrapped in the hot head of the core’s base.

It was a good laugh until I got to the top: “Modern Burn the Forests Biofuels Poverty Era”
Now I need a beer.
Mann, when will it end!

Easter is a time for rebirth and forgiveness. Hopefully the climate frauds will start asking for forgiveness for their scientific sins and begin a new era of truthfullness.
Nice cartoon Josh.

How about a T-Shirt to wear at the next AGU ! 😀 (y)

I would suggest you do one in ‘watercolours’ next with a theme of oceanography. I’m sure Bob Tisdale will sort out the timelines for you.

Josh asks: “How do they get away with this stuff?”
They DON’T! Thanks to folks too many to mention, but let’s try some–Josh, Watts, McIntyre, et al….

Josh asks: “How do they get away with this stuff?”
Because the guys at the top want them to get away with it. When the top is rotten everything underneath becomes rotten.

Lawrie Ayres says: “Easter is a time for rebirth and forgiveness. Hopefully the climate frauds will start asking for forgiveness for their scientific sins and begin a new era of truthfullness.”
Each Climatastrian thinks that he is the Messiah and has already granted himself absolution for his sins against Science, Truth, and Humanity.

Here’s an idea:
Image: A gently upsloping hockey stick–its shaft angles gently upward at about 15 or 20 degrees, say. Its blade, rather than turning upward, has turned flat. Maybe it has wrinkles in it and a downward drooping tip suggesting limpness. (This of course is a smoothed image of the global temperature chart from the mid-70s forward.)
Caption: “Not having fun yet? Blademan can’t get it up? Climagra not doing the trick? Close your eyes and think of Greenland.”

PS: An alternative caption, suitable for a billboard, is: “Here’s the REAL hockey stick.”

Sorry, Gary–NOBODY sees the missing heat discontinuity. It’s hard to draw what isn’t there. But we’ll all keep it in mind.

PPS: Here’s a better caption for a billboard or coffee mug or T-shirt:
“Here’s the LATEST hockey stick.”
That is indubitably true, and so it gives the other side no comeback. What’s “real” (most relevant) is arguable.

Rogerknightssays, limp hockey stick etc.
The sad thing is that whole limp thinking attitude is starting to get into everything, from no more “honors night ” for top students, to no more “best friend” because it might hurt someones feelings and the new curriculum for our kids it frankly scares the heck out of me , where the hell are we going to end up if it was not for sites like this!

Upward sloping shaft, flat head.

What about a first victim club replete with logo printed T-shirts and coffee mugs?

The founding member and President by unanimous agreement being Truth, but are there anymore nominations to serve on the Committee?

Hey Josh, last week I sent Anthony a good climate change joke I made up. It would lend itself to a 4 frame cartoon nicely – you are welcome if you want to use it.

the weather in Ireland has been so cold we got snow the last two years that lasted for 4 to 5 weeks we never get snow that lasts more than 5/6 days tops????????
