Laugh of the day – where's that DDT when you really need it?

Over at DeSmog blog, the hilarity from the Daily Bayonet Story earlier today continues.

Gotta love this comment from the DeSmog thread:

It makes me think of DeSmoggers James Hoggan or Richard Littlemore shouting this famous Seinfeld line from Frank Costanza:

              “I won’t tolerate infestation!”

You have to register there at DeSmog Blog and be approved by the powers that be (they don’t let just anybody make angry rants), so any “infestations” are of their own doing.

UPDATE: 9:40AM 2/28 – This post has become the “top post” aka #1 on WordPress blogs worldwide today. This was probably not the sort of attention DeSmog was seeking. Here’s a screencap from my WordPress dashboard:

IANVS???
That SOB that trolls Eric Berger aka Science Guy’s blog spewing BS about AGW? Berger isn’t much of science guy, that’s for sure when I can come up with much better stuff. Watt’s is a much better place when it comes to learning about climate change covering many things, not just CO2 that Berger only seemed to cover and nothing else. I guess I can’t blame him because he works for Houston Chronicle, a well known for its liberal bias so I don’t know for sure what he truly believes in. He claims to be unbiased but who knows?

“Smarmy” derives from the 19th Century pejorative “schoolmarm,” typically connoting an obnoxious pendant obsessed with correcting students’ grammatical deficiencies.
In confronting attested physical reality, Warmists in general and self-righteous DeSmoggers in particular suffer recurrent bouts of angst that “things are not what they should be.” Their solution is not to reconsider the Green Gang’s peculating asininities but to mouth small-minded defiance of all objective or even rational criteria.
Absent extraordinarily corrupt, malfeasant political establishments, panhandling warmsters will perforce hurl different epithets. Can’t happen soon enough.

POWER OF THE WEAKLING
Psychologists have long attributed bad behaviour online to “deindividuation” – the feeling people get when they think they are anonymous.
“Social distance can cause a 55-year-old climate change sceptic with a job and a mortgage to behave like a spastic donkey with strange malicious behaviour,” said Professor James Heathers, of the University of Sydney.

So skeptics are the only ones that show “social distance” and act like a “spastic donkey”.
Bias’d reporting and statements from Universities are the cause of alarmist having a “holier than thou” syndrome and feel that committing federal offenses is acceptable for the “cause”.
I do hope one day it will change.

What is really stupid, is that desmogblog focuses exclusively on CO2 and its “ramifications”. CO2 bad! You deny that—you bad! (I’m paraphrasing the basis of their emotional argument). Yet CO2 has nothing to do with smog. Smog is caused by ozone reacting with hydrocarbons. Here is displayed for all to see, the ignorance and the pathetic irony carried by these clowns—they supposedly love ozone, and hate CO2. Clear-cut case of more cognitive dissonance with the wacko eco-crowd. Ignorant of their own foibles.

Desmog used to be a good site to goto and post a few comments. Since cliamtegate though they have become very militant and angry, generally they will lock out an identified denier within a few days. Up to the 2009 climate conference they we’re hoping for “hard targets” on emissions but after that went belly up and it became apparent governments we’re just playing lip service to the whole agw issue they have become quite radical in their rhetoric. Accusing senators and congressmen of being on the take.
I am not surprised by there latest escapade but it is funny to watch them in there death spiral. I have been banned long ago but I still go back to watch the same 10 – 20 deluded commenters expouse moral outrage at the so called deniers.
Looking forward to the lawsuit as Desmog will not back down, this is the fight they have been waiting for good versus evil. This is there crusade and they will die on the cross before they concede anything to the Heartland Institute.

Probably a good idea to step just a bit further back and consider just who else is famous at Desmogblog, a blogger who started in Jan 2006 just 3 months after Hoggan started the site………
See: “In Case of Heart[land] Attack, Break Glass” http://junkscience.com/2012/02/19/in-case-of-heartland-attack-break-glass/
Excerpts: “There is not one thing new about DeSmogBlog’s attack on the Heartland Institute; in fact, elements of it go all the way back to at least 1992, and one person has been involved in this throughout that entire stretch of time: anti-skeptic book author Ross Gelbspan.”
“And so it goes to this day, anybody who has the audacity to question the idea of man-caused global warming must be marginalized in the eyes of the public by any means possible.”

“We help clients identify the optimum frame and establish it in the public mind. In a crisis, we can help lift a story out of a frame that might have been set up by critics”.
“We make it our business to know all that we can about media outlets and the influential individuals within them, all in the interest of enriching your media experience and minimizing unhelpful explosions.”

Doug Jones, I’m not sure that I agree with McRae’s thesis. Except for the Pentagon Papers, all of the examples that he gave were government vs government in normal intelligence operations. Gleick was cold-bloodedly planning to harm, if not destroy, an organization for no better reason that he didn’t agree with them. This was an individual deciding that he was better than the laws for a ‘nobel. cause’. People can do a lot of damage with that kind of reasoning. As an example I give you 9/11

For some strange reason Desmog Blog’s feelings of persecution remind me of a story I once heard about Winston Churchill.
It took place on one of those infamous Country House weekends in the 1920’s. Late one night Churchill (as usual the worse for drink) was stumbling along a corridor when he heard a shriek!
A rather frumpish lady pointed at him with a horrified look and said. ‘ Oh Mr Chruchill…it’s sticking out.’
Churchill looked back at her and replied.
‘You flatter yourself Madam..it’s ‘hanging’ out.’!

What some of the folks running censored blogs probably don’t realize is they are partially responsible for the actions of Gleick and others like him. By continuing to present lies about skeptics they get a few dolts to actually believe we are funded by the fossil fuel industry and our only goal is disinformation. If they allowed real scientific debate then people would know this is a lie.

Ok. OT but just got to say it and Ben Pile over at spike noted it today. The amazing thing revealed by Fakegate and other recent revelatuions isn’t how little funding skeptics receive from any source compared to the CAGW alarmists. We already knew that. What is amazing is how much more the greenshirt organizations get from fossil fuel companies than skeptical scientists. It’s truly mind boggling. Climategate showed the UEA CRU getting grants from Shell, Susuki funded by Encana, Sierra Club funded by a huge donation from Chesapeake Energy.
This was all made really clear to me by an American friend the other day. We were talking about our investments and energy prices and he said “don’t be afriad of high gasoline prices”. I realized that Obama, in his quest for high prices at the pump, is the fossil fuel companies’ little helper along with the greenshirts. Greenshirts are also really happy to take money from banks who would dearly like to rip us by trading carbon credits since the subprime loan scam has played itself out.
Well I do worry about high pump prices. I worry about single moms and working poor who need to drive cars to get to work because there isn’t adequate public tranist. I worry about fuel poverty for the elderly during the winter. Everything that the greenshirts are doing in the name of climate seems to be expressly designed to harm the weekest in society. Have they no conscience?

Mike M
February 28, 2012 8:01 am

Richard M says: … By continuing to present lies about skeptics they get a few dolts to actually believe …

And that word ‘FEW’ my friend pretty much sums up the reason they are losing – not only did they way overestimate the impact CO2 has on temperature, they WAY overestimated the number of dolts stupid enough to believe it.

In regard to the meme that, despite all the deception and dishonesty the leaked memos still demonstrate the “massive” support offered to the skeptic community by HI, consider this list from http://opensecrets.org/ of the top 140 biggest political donors in federal-level politics from 1989-2011
.http://www.opensecrets.org/orgs/list.php?order=A
HI can’t make these contributions because of their tax status, but this is the arena of influence which they are trying to affect. As a point of reference if you are looking for that other very popular leftist bugaboo Koch Industries, they are down in 79th spot. Pay particular attention to the Tilt column where the relative Dem/ Rep ratios are shown
OpenSecrets has collected an incredible amount of data on the really “massive” quantity of money devoted to manipulating political and public thought and,if you spend any time browsing through it, the overwhelming edge enjoyed by the forces dedicated to the notion of the great need for and true wonderfulness of ever more intrusive and powerful government is undeniable. In almost all areas the money dedicated to pressing the notions of individual liberty and market economics barely rises above the level of round off error of the total.
The recent PR dump about the upcoming Rio conference demonstrates the inexorable quality of the effort. Having determined that CAGW is a loser on the merits, the meme has shifted to the much more amorphous challenge of “Sustainability” and the bureaucratic Leviathon moves ever forward.
Of course focusing on the overt money flows ignores the real edge the statists enjoy in in kind propaganda support from their dominance of academia, media and entertainment. Their combined efforts have so far been entirely successful at concealing the well established historical fact that only one thing always has and always will be “Unsustainable” which is Marxist economics. Sooner or later, and in the present moment much sooner, you always run out of Other People’s Money.
