The kindest thing I can say is that Mann isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Interesting that a key figure in ClimateGate scandal considers FOIA requests an “assault”. I’ve always understood that a fundamental principal of research and its publication was that data was made available for peer verification. Silly me!
I don’t want to follow Mann anywhere but curiosity won and I went on Facebook. BP now raised thank you WUWT. I do wonder what the human race is coming to, maybe all that AGW has fried their brains. I did like the bit about how the vatican is enlightened though, well history has endorsed that. /sarc.
I am not a scientist but the arguments against AGW are overwhelmingly rational and make sense, i do not understand why this is not more generally the common view.
Incidently, i am puzzling why I found the recent posts on fuel usage,engines in Alaska ( I know nothing aboutt engines), heating pads etc so very interesting and illuminating… 2 hours went by in a flash, but that I guess is the beauty of WUWT so thanks.

There seems to be little doubt that the e-mails that are being sought under FOI must contain some pretty damaging stuff.
Who knows how long it will take for all this to play out, but in the end, history will not be kind to this fellow.

Never bothered with twitter, I treat twitter like I would do with a plague rat, Piltdown-E-mann’s presence on said networking site, accordingly, is an excellent reason to cast it out of my mind forever.

I am tempted to join Twitter just so that I can post that beside that FOIA assault claim. What Michael Mann doesn’t realize that is that the FOIA law is a right and not a privilege. Driving is a privilege. Knowing how our tax money is spent provided that knowing does not put someone’s life in grave danger is a right.
In an effort to frustrate those FOIA scoundrels, Mann can now release his code 140 characters at a time.

It’s hilarious how he calls FOIA a tool for assault. It’s like freedom of information is exactly what he doesn’t want to exist. He pre-supposes that any request for information is inherently bad, so the entire thing is an assault on him.

I used to do contract work for a provincial government. We were informed that every single thing we did at work could be pertained to FOI, and thus, could be made public. Mann obviously knows this, but he has decided that he is going to fight it.
I try to avoid using the word ” criminal”, because it could be viewed as a ad-hominid attack, but in this case, Mann is clearly announcing his intent to try and circumvent the law.
As for the Twitter account, in this case, no joke about ” Twits” is needed. It writes itself.
Anthony snipped me when I innocently exchanged an an A for an I in “Twitterati”.

I laugh daily at the people who tweet using the #climate hashtag. Read the bios and you get a glimpse of the machine and of people who make good livings driving it. It makes the claims of big oil even more ludicrous when you see the constant stream of rubbish from people with a financial stake.
Manns tweets will just be retweeted by that group of money grabbing ideologists.

Look I know it’s only a childish fantasy, but imagine if he got really drunk one night and just tweeted his heart out and spilled his guts, you know, with loads of profane ad-hominems, etc… That would be so cool.

By the way this poll may be why Mann is on a communication sabbatical and using twitter. (100 million active users) Someone else mentioned that Twitter seems to be full of young people and it is certainly the place to gather a “loyal” following.
