This is about a smaller tornado spawn by the same complex that dropped the Worcester tornado that killed 94 people. If this tornado hit today it would have been much worse, as this tornado passed right through the neighborhood I grew up in. The similarities to last week are striking, except for the location. People see that there was an F4 tornado in 1953 yet they still want to say we’ve never seen anything like it…perhaps they just don’t listen

I believe a few sites including Grist and The Guardian rely on user complaints which small armies of busy body AGW enthusiasts have figured out how to game, since it is exactly these specific censorious sites that have greatly above average numbers of damage control efforts in comments versus other news sites, and I can no longer get any post through the Guardian’s “pre-moderation” condition they slapped onto my latest account after I was ganged up on by bile spewing defenders if AGW when I posted links to the “1010 climate” and “angry Greenpeace kid” YouTube videos.
Since there is a strong cultist belief that skeptics truly are conspiring to mysteriously profit from destroying the world, motivation levels towards silencing skepticism reach fanatical levels in which silencing of dissent by any means becomes a high moral ideal which fulfills many core human emotions of those who adopt the CAGW word view mostly due to a deep trust in authority.
Also, a competent threat to their world view presents not just an ego and self-image threat but as individuals it creates a very primal terror, that of losing solidarity within the warm embrace of a supportive and heroic group of fellow activists who exert massive levels of peer pressure on one another to the extent that bursts of comments appear that seem to better represent within-group displays of activist credibility rather than actual attempts to change the minds of outsiders.

I would have to agree. Craziness (posturing as intellect & erudition) is the norm at Grist, but outside of the environmentalist ghetto what is really crazy is to pay them the slightest attention. Best to just correct the most egregious misapprehensions and downright falsifications, but otherwise ignore them.
Global Cooling
The number of tornadoes and hurricanes was heading down until 2011, when the temperature anomaly fell suddenly. Tornadoes and hurricanes need a temperature difference so energy can move from hot to cold.
I think the recent uptick in tornadoes and hurricanes is caused by the downward shift in temperature, causing the high latitudes to get colder, causing an increased temperature gradient from tropics to poles.
Could we be so accustomed to the brainwashing of the CAGW alarmists that we’re not recognising the advent of Global Cooling?

Chilling? Not the smartest choice of adjective to herald cataclysmic warming.
To attribute dust bowl conditions as the same as the dust bowl of the 30’s is foolish. The 30’s problem was in the Dakotas and due to increased agriculture ploughing to remove the grass which held the topsoil together. Sun and wind did the rest.
Texas, on the other hand, is in the desert region of the planet. Increased abstraction of groundwater, to supply a rising population, is the problem here.
It would be nice if someone could take this video and augment it a little to include more worrisome disasters that seem to be trending upward, like the earthquakes in Indonesia, Haiti, New Zealand, Chile, and Japan, and the tsunamis that resulted. And don’t forget the volcanic eruptions in Iceland, Chile, and Eritrea. Oh, and you might as well throw in the disappearance of sunspots, which might actually be related to something.

As far as I’m aware there have been many previous floods of greater magnitude than this years, goiong back several centuries. How is that unprecedented?
Oh, and let’s add in the acceleration of the movement of the Magnetic North Pole. Unprecedented!
Here in Eastern Australia we’re experiencing a cold snap which is the coldest for some 60 odd years and we’re talking 6-8C below average. of course the climate rationalist blogs are saying WTF, where’s the warming? and the climate catastrophists from tribe anthrakaphobe are saying-” it doesn’t prove anything- its just weather”. So, question – why is weather, “just weather” and extreme weather- climate change? What a difference the intensity makes.
