I am no one; just a Spanish old woman with no credentials but a lot of curiosity. I have posted here before, and have been treated with the utmost benevolence and politeness, just as if I were someone who mattered.
So here I come again, to bring a link for a web page about a virtual prize. “The Ruiz de Elvira” prize. It has been organized by some bloggers who visit here, but who will probably not have spoken here about their initiative, as the web page is in Spanish, and focussed mainly on the Spanish scene.
The price aims to give its virtual medal to the ” most hysterical the least reasonable, the most outrageous “warmist”, of the kind that does not give reliable data, does not listen or answer to the scientists that put other conflicting data that contradict theirs, etc”. Lots of Spanish web pages and blogs are adhering to the initiative.

Ah, the Marriott Wardman Park. Nice hotel and very convenient to the Metro. But if you consider those room rates high, there’s a B&B, the Woodley Park Guest House, just across the street from it with more reasonable rates plus free Internet access. I stayed there when I attended a conference at the Marriott. Nice folks.
Can’t leave the UK at this exciting time, sorry. But would like to attend if only to find many climate realists on tap.

The Gore effect will once again have an affect on the weather in DC. Unseasonably cool summer weather will take hold on June 27th and last through July 4 with rain thruought the week and on the Holiday. An unseasonably cool Arctic air mass will bring snow to the local areaa as the snow level drops to 500′. Nah…Just a bunch of rain and temps that are 20deg below normal
I’ve seen this excellent set of videos before. The bad lighting is a big distraction, as is the sound quality in spots. I wonder if a skilled WUWT fan would be willing to offer Dr. Carter assistance in correcting these technical flaws?

Speaking of Al Gore, a interesting report, put out by the American Univ. of School of Communication on Climate Shift. In the introduction it notes that:
“For more than 20 years, environmentalists, scientists and philanthropists have worked together to mobilize action in the United States on climate change and to implement policies that address the undeniable, human causes of the problem. The many successes of this coalition, however, have been obscured over the past year by the failure of cap and trade legislation and the inability to achieve a binding international agreement on emissions”.

I very much enjoyed ICCC IV in Chicago last year, but I very much doubt I will be able to go this year. Bad timing this year for me.

I made a reservation for lodging today at the Woodley Park Guest House. The rates aren’t much better there, especially if a spouse will be along and you want to bring your car. However, the air is probably fresher.
Well I have been promising myself a trip to that conference; but this year things are a bit tight, and WDC is a bit too far for my money.
But I look forward to hearing about some good presentations.
