Friday Funny: F-word Fusillade by Michael Tobis

No Cattle
Michael Tobis "in it for the gold"

Lucia sums up the preparations as:

It’s happy hour. I say pour yourself a beer and toast St. Barbara as you admire this most recent barrage of artillery launched by MT, the climate communications cannoneer that just can’t stop launching bombs!

Here is her post link below, bringing it all to attention. Caution, f-word rich environment.

This might be the moment, Earth Day, April 22nd, 2011 when it was conclusively demonstrated by one very angry man, that climate alarmists have lost their argument when one of their team members resorted to this sort of tirade when Steven Mosher drove him off the edge. See:

http://rankexploits.com/musings/2011/record-for-f-words-in-climate-blog-post/

Also in today’s category for humor:

Failed Mirth Earth Day predictions

UPDATE: Apparently I missed out in search rankings by not quoting Lucia’s phrase ““pusillanimous chickenshit”. So there it is. I don’t think it will matter much, because I also have another unique searchable term: “f-word fusillade”

http://www.google.com/search?q=”f-word+fusillade”

But as we’ve suspected, Google has a bias against WUWT, and we don’t show up in that search, but other linkers and aggregators do.

Goodness gracious. Much of this discourse would, in the words of Dickens’ Mr Podsnap, bring a blush to the cheeks of a young person. Well, I guess MT had no other way of proving his vital point …

It doesn’t prove anything, except for the fact that the writer has NOTHING useful to prop up their argument.

MT said,

. . . “It is because the f@#%&g! survival of the f@#%&g! planet is at f@#%&g! stake.” . . .

======
MT,
Hey, I have some good business opportunities for you to invest in that could help your alarmist visions. They involve space colonization at an earth Lagrange point or between planetary orbits. No ideological environmentalist could object to that. Right? We need to be quick to seize the moment though, because while maybe they don’t have an objection to colonizing open space right now, they will eventually. I am confident that given time they will come up with activist generated fear to stop human technological development anywhere at any time. THIS OFFER EXPIRES AT MIDNIGHT TONITE, CALL NOW!
Of course the greenest of the European governments would probably object due to the loss of tax generating population base here on earth. This time European emigrants will populate space like they did the USA. : )

Think the drill instructor in Full Metal Jacket.

You are the lowest form of life on Earth. You are not even human, f****** beings. You are nothing but unorganized grabastic pieces of amphibian shit! You will not like me. But the more you hate me the more you will learn. I am hard but I am fair. There is no racial bigotry here. I do not look down on n******, k****, w*** or g*******. Here you are all equally worthless. And my orders are to weed out all non-hackers who do not pack the gear to serve in my beloved Corps. Do you maggots understand that?”

Here…let me paraphrase the essence of his rant…

“It is because the [freaking] survival of the [freaking] planet is at [freaking] stake. And if we narrowly [freaking] miss pulling this out, it may well end up being your, your own [freaking] personal individual [freaking] self-satisfied mischief and disrespect for authority that tips the balance. You have a lot of [freaking] nerve saying you are on my “side”.”

And there, my friends, is the mentality we are up against in the manic, unhinged CAGW community…
PS: Time to celebrate Mr. Tobis’ rant by firing up my CO2-belching pellet stove and releasing as much of the biologically beneficial gas to the atmosphere as I can. Happy Earth Day!

He is right. The survival of the (very sexually active–how delightful!) planet is at stake. I have posted plenty of times that warming and CO2 build life. I am going to inspire people to green up Earth’s vast deserts. It cannot be done without carbon dioxide, for carbon is the center atom of “organic chemistry.”

Good one, Wade! Hey, this is fun. Let’s apply the Tobis technique to spice up some of Jim Hansen’s latest work:

Abstract:
Improving [freaking] observations of [freaking] ocean temperature confirm that Earth is [freaking] absorbing more energy from the [freaking] sun than it is [freaking] radiating to space as [freaking] heat, even during the [freaking] recent solar minimum.

In fact, I say we make Mr. Tobis the editor in chief of the next IPCC report! The spicy scientific sentences would lend the necessary emphasis and tone to the critical work of our [freaking] climate elites…

Who is Michael Tobis anyway?
Best 4 letter word rant I heard was from one of my old bosses when I was a tree planter in Scotland 30 years ago. He managed to construct a 6 word sentence using the ‘f’ word (and 3 of its derivatives) 4 times and a single use of the ‘c’ word. The other word was ‘tree’…

Another nutter upset over the fact that the climate isn’t doing anything helpful to advance the climate alarmist screech message. They need a new, simpler message. One not embarrassingly tied to a fickle natural condition. How about “Stop what you are doing, what ever it is, because it is harmful to something!” Strong, 100% right, and the science is truly settled. How can you go wrong with that?

We won, dear gentlemen, we won. Through us did flow forth the divine swords of rigor, of calling that which is good good, and that which is weak and watery, bad. Now is a time of therapy for some whose heart was in the right place at the wrong time to believe in a false god, a mere guru or two or three, but mainly time to rebuild magnanimous pride in ourselves now that we are no longer marginalized in an objective sense.
“I have no patience with “so-called” common sense (a spurious article, unutterably different from the genuine one) one is told to use, and which they say one does not use as soon as one deviates from the ordinary course and takes a risk. I repeat, I have no patience with it. I have no patience with it for the very reason that my own common sense, if I reflect, leads me to wholly different results than the conclusion of narrow-minded worldly wisdom and prudent, half-hearted righteousness. Oh, that dawdling, oh, those hesitations, oh, that not believing that good is good, that black is black, that white is white.” – Vincent van Gogh (letter to Theo van Gogh, 1883)

“It is Orwellian, in that it would summon into being something called the Ministry of the Earth, which will provide our planet with an ombudsman, “whose job is to hear nature’s complaints as voiced by activist and other groups, including the state.”
Why can’t the old hag, Mother Earth I mean, get her own ombudsman? And shouldn’t that really be, in this context, ombudsperson? I notice, too, how the Earth’s “complaints” are to be those voiced by activists and the state, an always convenient ventriloquism.”
Tobis fits the description…

I’ve had more intelligent rants from an eight year old not wanting to do homework! I’m still laughing. What on God’s green earth (thanks to CO2) did Mosh do? Pee in his Wheeties? I think MT is now officially head of the verbal fornication incorporation movement (formerly known as CAGW).

The 5th stage approaches. The rant of a genuine and self recognised loser. This is the speach of a man who likes not what he sees in the mirror. Naturally this will be reported in MSM as the proper way to discuss AWG/CC/CCD or whatever the name is this week, Irritable Climate Syndrome for sure.

At least MT didn’t call for the arrest and imprisonment of SM like some self righteous warmists, and even avoided making any threats.
I wonder what undeniable truth SM put forth that so frustrated MT.
A quick read of some of the comments on MT’s blog indicates his readers are mainly socialists, which is not surprising.
Is MT the authority that SM has failed to obey?
Real skeptics must render MT apoplectic.

April 22, 2011 10:02 pm

That’s funny. Funny as in “hahaha” and funny as in ironic. Don’t get me wrong, I like Mosh. He’s fun and very challenging to engage. Sadly, specific to climate discussions, I typically engage with people I disagree. Mosh is one of them. Oddly, I find myself understanding what Tobis is saying. You’ve no idea which way Mosh is going to punt the ball. That in itself isn’t bad. You are your own captain. Draw your own course. Again, don’t get me wrong, while Mosh has been useful to the skeptic camp, he doesn’t consider things in the manner as most skeptics. A useful idiot? Nope. Useful, yes. Idiot, no. He’s nowhere close to being a “lukewarmer” as I perceive the meaning. He is an enemy of my enemy. Mosh has his own agenda and he’s not sharing it with the rest of us.
Steve, in this particular case….. good on you.

” disrespect for authority” ? What authority?
Fraudulent science , machiavellian manoeuvring to suppress proper scientific debate, what is there to respect ? Where is the authority ?
Science was generally respected , climate scientists blew that respect , they no longer have any authority.
I somehow doubt that a drunken fit will regain anyone much of either.

I’ve taken a screencap of Google’s stealth removal (unexplainable absence) of WUWT using “f-word fusillade” as search.

You don’t know that something bad will not happen due to the greenhouse gases, as much as the alarmists like Tobis know that something bad will happen.
In other words, once you accept the CAGW bedrock, i.e., the accelerated greenhouse effect hypothesis a.k.a the ecologist-perspective on feedbacks, how much worry and fretting one should entertain is not a question of science at all, but that of worldview, that of attitude and outlook.

A Bing search for “f-word fusillade” returns WUWT in second spot (right after Kevin Rudd, ex-PM of Oz) from a UK IP address – third, to two mentions of Rudd, from a German IP.

Hit “Show more results from wattsupwiththat.com”, then “all results”…
Google is right now picking up the WUWT pages with “F-word fusillade” on them, except this one. If it’s currently showing, as in the “Recent Posts” list, Google is aware of the page and it’ll show up, except for this one.
Did someone at Google hit the Big Red “Censor It!” Button, and decide to specifically blot out this page only from their search results?

Back in the days of my early years of Aerial Firefighting there was a Captain named
Ray Ornbaum (I will wager someone out there if once to meet Ray you will remember him.) Ray had shall we say a colorful command of the language. He used it strategically.
One of the greatest fears of any Tanker Pilot is the arrival of “Action News ” at the Pliot’s shack.- NBC’s Ann Curry and I go way back there at Medford Or.- This was at Meford some years back in the 80’s . A news crew shows up at the loading ramp and proceeds to get in everyone’s road. They make the mistake of interviewing Ray as he is trying to get the Aircraft oiled (depending on the model a DC-6/7 could take up to 10 gallons at a time, before you had to really be worried.)
“Tell me sir how’s the fire going?” Ray:” IT is one over-the-hill,(Blankety Blank,
Blank,) and we’re not gettin’ any where with that (Blankety Blank, Blank) until
we get more(Blankety Blank, Blank) help! Now leave me alone you(Blankety Blank, Blank.)”..
They did… Ray was one of our Heroes…
Somehow that didn’t make the 5’o clock news…

Michael, you are cordially invited to come live in Wallowa County. Apparently global warming is not affecting us here. We have plenty of snow and terrifically cold nights and cool days, as well as normal to above normal river flows. Freeze warnings have been all over the place as farmers deal with winter wheat destruction. I can only assume we have little to no CO2 in the air in which to cause the non-existent greenhouse affect, given that warmers place all warming blame on such a gas.
Besides, you could bring your energy over here and join our small group of environmentalists working hard to bring non-native wolves to our county. As an added incentive you could try to convince our benevolent trackers who killed the last wolf they collared, to try to catch them without tranquilizer guns, you know, just run after them and catch one. We will even pray you will not become wolf scat.
A side benefit, since we are missing OUR heat, a heated potty-mouth blow hard could actually save our fields from frost-kill.

I’m more than a little embarrassed to admit that I had no f’ing idea who Tobis is. I had to look him up. Ahhh…all the pieces fell into place. One seldom hears this kind of profanity blurted by native Texans. No surprises – this dolt “earned” a Ph.D. in eco-sandbox from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1996. Think union thugs for a moment. Anyway…then he lands in Austin, Texas. You can scour the entire US and only find a handful of cities as mindlessly liberal as Madison, WI. Among them are, of course, San Francisco, Detroit, Baltimore, Seattle, Santa Fe and…Austin, Texas.
This explains a lot. His command of vocabulary is obviously limited and I expect his command of the science is similarly limited. But, by golly, his “beliefs” are strong…

Interesting results on google – searching for f-word fusillade does indeed bring up results from WUWT but not this page. When expanding “more results from wattsupwiththat.com”, this page *does* appear, but marked with a “cached” link. This suggests google is aware of the page, but for some reason doesn’t think the page is currently available and seems to be marking it down for some reason.
Oddly, clicking the cached link fails to pull up a document, but directly clicking the link works. Something certainly has gone awry at google, but I wouldn’t be too quick to call foul play. It could be some genuine screw up somewhere.

MT appears to be a cultist mouthpiece. He is an honored communicator in the ideological environmental movement’s eyes. I do not see MT convincing non-cult members. He has marginalized his own impact.
For me the key issue of the climate science discussion is can reasonable people seeking objective knowledge of our earth system and its external energy inputs (over past, present and future timeframes) fundamentally disagree about AGW by CO2?
I say they cannot if they are both objective in their fundamental starting premises. To me this means that the IPCC supporting scientists and the independent scientists (aka skeptics) do not share a common fundamental starting premise. Therefore, if that is the case, even when there is occasionally some agreement in final conclusions it would be spurious.

Mosher,
I am only trying to figure out why the Tobis-Realclimate-Tamato commentariat (Stalinist Football Team) is so angry at you (and Fuller).
It basically seems to boil down to this: “climate scientists are already under attack,…how can you attack them further placing data requests and by judging them for it? Said climate scientists being powerless weaklings and all that.”
Reading the Tobis’ thread, again, it seems to come down to an-always unmentioned worldview that forever hangs in the back. ‘Fossil-fuel interests, business interests are seen as the vast powerful machine, climate scientists and the IPCC as the emerging weakling opposition to this machine, struggling against odds to gently shackle this out-of-control beast called human materialist industry-aided consumption, in order to save the ‘fucking planet’.
You, on the other hand, are kicking the underdog scientists when they are down (which they apparently always are) by requesting data openness.
It is a fascinating thread: it shows why the Stalinist Football Team is unhapy with data availability and openness.

From Spence_UK on April 23, 2011 at 3:35 pm:

Interesting results on google – searching for f-word fusillade does indeed bring up results from WUWT but not this page. (…)

Currently this page is the first result. And the only page from here on the first page of results, there is no “more pages from” option. Google has apparently found many pages from 2010 that say”‘F-word’ fusillade in Tevez, Mancini heated Man City dressing-room …” are now more relevant, and is tossing up many results with the same title. It takes the “wuwt f-word fusillade” search to bring up more results from here.
Interesting how the Google algorithm machine previously managed to notice the preceding and following posts, but took so long to specifically notice this particular one.

kadaka, quite right, and I did follow your link above to get to that point.
I note several of the wuwt pages are now marked “cached” from google, suggesting google thinks they might not currently be available; although there are still pages that are not marked in this way.
The google spider has got itself a bit confused about wattsupwiththat. I wonder why? Speculating, but sometimes these things are related to DNS servers getting out of sync. They usually sort themselves out in around 24-48 hours. Could be a number of things though (including some screw up at google itself).

…..and they wonder why their house of cards is crumbling in on itself when they have buffoons like this promoting their ’cause’.

I’ve been saying (well, thinking, actually – I mostly lurk) for years that Tobis & Romm are two of the blogosphere’s best antidotes to Warmism. Long may they bloviate!
All it takes is the light & occasional poke to set either of them off, and there is no better poker than Mosher.

I simply can’t imagine what effort it takes to sustain so much anger for so long. And these people are incredibly angry.
Can’t help but wonder why?

Michael Tobis appears to be the classic “noble cause” activist. I would compare this to an anti-abortion activist (without making a judgement about the rightness of that position) who really believes that abortion is the murder of an innocent human being. Practically anything becomes justified by the noble cause. If you really believe that a global emergency exists with respect to the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, then the debate is over for you, and action is called for. Moderation, exploration of alternative theories, the scientific process itself, all become dangerous distractions. It is an intellectual one-way trip. Nothing can unwind it.
There are truly noble causes in the world, and I think each of us subscribe to a few, to some degree. It might be simply the raising of a safe and thriving family. It might be providing safe drinking water to a community. Someone who we see as a direct and immediate threat to our noble causes would be lucky to escape with just a few f-bombs.

That last post went wrong due to my mistake with the href tag. After the first paragraph it should have said:
… It is an intellectual one-way trip. Nothing can unwind it. Witness the autism/vaccination fraud Dr. Andrew Wakefield and the true believers he retains.
