Why would anybody associated with a lame socialist entity known as the “Climate Progress/ Center for American Progress” funded by Soros and other globalists treat JB with respect? Climate Progress isn’t about science, it’s about a bunch of numb skulls getting hood-winked by Eurocentric Elitists to push environmental regulation, global warming, and carbon taxes.

I was disheartened to hear this as a loyal subscriber to Accuweather Pro for 8 years now.
I also have to agree with Ryan Maue’s reaction to CP. That place truly is full of horrible people who base their fanatical climate religion on dodgy science and inexhaustible panic.
One thing Joe Bastardi did many times that I’ve never seen Romm do… was admit it when he was wrong.
I always point out that I am a proud liberal member of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor party… because I think it shows that all political perspectives can respect a great weather forecaster. And as a liberal, I can’t tell you how disgusted I get with Climate Progress. Joe Romm and his legion of panic-ridden alarmist doomsdayers truly are nothing more than a stain of you know what on the underwear of life.

Seasons change and all that. Well, I guess that time will tell.
In many a language the same word is used to mean both “time” and “weather.”

Joe, do let us know where you lite. Ryan’s site? How are we really going to know about the weather now?
Joe was the only reason to have any links to AccuWeather that’s for sure… there, gone.

You were asking about what you might add to WUWT. How about a regular post from JB? Then WUWT will have some of the most accurate climate science and the most accurate weather prediction. JR may just choke on his own foam 🙂

I hope Mr. Watts can keep us informed if he learns where Mr. Bastardi lands. I greatly value his outlooks on things and would like to continue reading them if possible.

I followed the above link to Climate Progress and really regret adding another single unique visitor stat to their logs.
I guess the “Progress” word in their title is the left wing meaning of the word, instead of the true meaning, as in ‘develop in a positive way; advancement: gradual improvement or growth or development.’
The left wing meaning of Progress is ‘to force into conformity; restrict; prevent independent thought; penalise real progress.’

Sorry to see Joe leaving Accuweather, I enjoyed his down-to earth spin on weather events – actually made sense!
Perhaps the Met Office have taken him on to teach them the forgotten art of forecasting. They seem to be having a spot of bother in this department… 🙂

I will miss Joe and wish him all the best, but I suspect I won’t miss him for long as his talent for saying it as he sees it and putting his hand up immediately he makes a mistake will see him pop up somewhere on the net or in the mainstream.
Like others commenting, I followed the link above to CP – wow! What a bunch! It’s impossible to take people seriously who whip themselves into a fury of smearing and hating others who don’t follow their peculiar religion . The personell there take the definition of ‘Rednecks’ to a new and dreadful level.

Joe IS one sane voice in a cacaphony of noise. I wait with baited voice to see where he pops up.

Wait a year, then Bastardi will inform us how he misinformed the world about AGW and why he did.

I wish him all the best and good luck with his new endeavours, which I’m sure will be climate related.

A guy like Joe would not leave without a new deal in progress. He’s as passionate about the weather as a man can be. And he’s in a position to get big money these days.
There were signs, if you were paying attention. He complained regularly about the lack of movable type, as well as the increasing lack of time to do the things he wanted to do with the weather/ Yesterday’s long ranger had Joe looking a bit pale and sounding strained. I’m supposing he hadn’t dropped his bomb yet.
I foung things to criticize about Joe (those lame jokes and puns would often drive me nuts), and I don’t care what anyone says, he DOES have a tendency toward hyping storms, but over the time I subscribed to the Pro Site (a subsciption I immediately canceled), I’ve come to respect the man greatly…
That he gave no notice, argues for a very unhappy employee. And the “we wish Joe the best of luck in his future endeavors” is classic corporate-speak for “screw-you.”
Sad day, but he’ll be back sooner rather than later I’m guessing, and at a place where he’s appreciated more..

I noticed WUWT, has accu-weather labeled as a lukewarm site. This has not been true for about a year. Their climate change blog was hijacked by Jesse Ferrell and Brett Anderson, at that time. Skeptics were quickly banned and warmist dominates, however, a few skeptics remain and provide some alternative views. The dismissal (resignation?) of Joe Bastardi was just more writing on the wall. I often wonder if the Meyers brothers are aware of how this company has been removed from the climate change debate.
They are irrelevant now and can be safely removed from debate bookmarks. I have instructed my own affiliates to not renew any new contracts with AW, at least until there is a change in moderators and corporate mind-set. GK

It seemed to me his forecasts were accurate and didn’t contain warming warnings. That would make him unpopular with the political folks.
He was excellent. He will be sought after. Maybe Koch bros could start a company for him.

I suspect Joe found a better oppurtunity elsewhere. His skills as a long term forecaster are in high demand. So are his on camera skills. I imagine the folks at Accuweather will see a lot less hits on thier site.

There is no one more in the Global Warming tank than their Canadian meteorologist. He has joined hook line and sinker.

JB was THE reason I subscribed to Accuweather Pro in order to access his almost daily video blogs “The Big Dog” and “the Long Ranger”. He taught me much of what I know about weather through those videos. I will have to reconsider my subscription now.

Why don’t you come up with real hard evidence about Joe Bastardi “misinforming the World about AGW” instead of below the belt remarks without merit.

JB was the only one at Accuweather with any kind of knowledge about what is really occuring with our weather.Since it hapened so fast ,with no warning, it makes you really wonder if his stance on future forecast and the fact he doesn’t buy into the global warming saga wasn’t the reason he resigned.I feel sure Accuweather will be hurt by his departure in terms of cliants.I ‘m not a cliant though enjoyed listening to him but I can say for sure i’m finished with Accuweather.
I will tell this story on accuweather.I’ve posted many time on thier site .One day last fall there was a story that Brett Anderson had wrote about something cauesd by global warming.Well I replid to his post and asked how he could sleep at night lieing to the American people and how GW was a load .Well the next day I received a warning from Accuwether about personal attacks.But you know last month JB came out with fact showing how the earth is cooling and ther were many personal attacks on him .I guess it only matter to Accuweather which side of the fence you are on.

As always…your comments are always your own little argument from authority, as if you are on the same plane as Bastardi.
Nobody really cares that much on whether you “agree” with him or not. You might, but that’s about it.
But its good to know that you at least respect Bastardi…as well you should.
He is brilliant, free-thinking meteorological powerhouse, and SHOULD be respected, such respect not hinging on yours or others’ [mine included] opinion of him.

Joe was the only reason I went onto the accuweather site. I just hope Joe continues his blog and updates somewhere, I need my fix and can’t face going cold turkey!

I think JB is great! Let me add my 2 bits of speculation to the mix.
My first thought was JB could show up somewhere on FNC, Roger Ailes tossed a nice bone to Juan Williams after he got canned by PBS. However, since he resigned, I would guess there could be something bigger. He would be a great mouthpiece for a well financed, high profile organization that is trying to get the truth out to the masses. His media background gives him the ability to get his message out effectively. (gee, kinda like another ‘weatherman’ we know!)
Regardless of where he ends up, he is smart and talented, and in this great country, he will have many great options!

I am aghast at the unadulterated bullshit on that site. If a scientist or journalist cites that vitriolic propaganda from that gas-bag Joe Romm, then they deserve the defamation suits and fraud allegations that follow. I had no idea that it was that bad. 😉
Well Ryan, you evidentally haven’t been to Eli Rabett’s Rabett Run either with the Droppings along the bunny trail and papa bunny’s mean offspring. Talk about a lot of rancid s–t pouring out of a site! Got my dose of it last night when I mistakenly got lead there and down that bunny hole! ☺

I’m betting Accu-weather’s politically connected and correct management is compelled to use forecasters who support the government’s information operation goal of convincing the mass of voters that four atmospheric molecules in ten thousand (400 PPM) hold sway over our planet’s climate.

No Joe = No Pro site. Not sure where to get good information on 2011 Hurricane season now.

First, best wishes, thoughts and prayers for Joe B. and his family.
The financial loss to Accuweather will not be limited to the Pro Site subscribers; were I one of Joe B.’s high dollar the energy client subscribers, with Joe B.’s personal handling and tailoring gone, I would have to cancel immediately, legalities be danged.
As a long-time pro Site subscriber, the value of that site to me certainly just diminished hugely.
Either I will see Henry Margusity and especially Joe B.’s appointed replacement Paul Pastelok prove themselves to be far better medium and long range forecasters and communicators than they have shown hints of, or I will see that each and both of those fellows cannot begin to offer subscribers what Joe B. offered.
Joe B. was also a teacher; he not only challenged readers and viewers to understand his logic, he provided sources we could delve into.
My bottom line is this: unless and until I see Joe B.’s ‘replacements’ showing me far more that they have to date, I need a new source for long range weather and climate information, and one which has no government and preferably no academic ties.
Any suggestions?
