Friday Funny – Congressional Frosh

Elmer Beauregard of Minnesotans for Global Warming writes in with today’s funny: M4GW’s Newest Song – I’m a Denier

He writes:

It’s a parody of “I’m a Believer” written by Neil Diamond and performed by the Monkees. This version was written by Elmer Beauregard and Brian D. Smith and performed by Elmer and the M4GW players.

This song is in honor of all the new Republican Freshman entering Congress and the Senate most of whom are Deniers and proud of it.

I think this is song may be our “Tour de Farce”

Well at least he didn’t choose Manfred Mann’s “Blinded by the light”. Watch below.

Michael Mann is playing drums for a Climate Denier band?
Wow, we win?
(I know it can’t be him, but it does look like him. . . )
“Climate Denier” as the new “Yankee Doodle Dandy”?

Allencic
November 5, 2010 10:37 am

The landscape behind the band is classic midwestern glacial terrain formed by the deposition of rocky debris picked up during glacial advance and then dropped as the great continental glaciers melted and retreated. Without climate cooling to let the ice sheets form, and then climate warming to cause the glacial melt such landscapes wouldn’t exist. Wait a minute, that must mean that in the past, natural causes must have the climate changing. We know from AGW that must be impossible. LOL

I think that could be their best! I like the original song anyway. What’s up with that chicken? Nice outfit. Probably helps with those cold November nights in Minnesota, home of the lovely and talented Michele Bachmann. Go M4GW!

Climate is complex, and so are we
We all have many facets
But the rough divide about Alarm
Splits us in two segments.
One of these is not much fun
It wants to scare the kids
The other is more cheerful
And produces the best vids
It is the best for humour
For writing and cartoons
As it grapples with the miseries
Foretelling glooms and dooms.
So with the Friday Funny
May it give a little cheer
Tho’ but for that other side
We’d be somewhere else, not here.

Moraine or esker?
One thing that we can’t deny is that the warmistas provide us with easy pickin’s. It will take the start of glaciers in the heart of the continent to get them off their [CO2] greenhouse gas induced paranoia. Unfortuately, it may come to that, the way that the temperature record has been Hansenized to show warming no matter what.
In the meantime, I have another reason to like the Republicans. ā˜ŗ

The MM doppleganger was good, but I was somewhat disappointed by the lyrics, which could have better matched the original, something like
I thought warming wasn’t just a fairytale
Everyone would cook, including me
Heat was out to get me,
That’s the way it seemed
Fear of frying haunted all my dreams.
Then I saw the light,
Now I’m a denier,
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
etc

If you have,”not a trace of doubt in my mind”, then you cannot be a sceptic… “got a little doubt in my mind”, more appropriate, unless you really are a “denier”

Imagine thereā€™s no money

Floods, dust storms, and starvation
Children only cry
Donā€™t think so? Thereā€™s no pressure,
Red button, you will di-i-i-i-i-ie
You may say Iā€™m a believer
But Iā€™m not the only one

It’s become easier to laugh and poke fun at the Warmistas, especially since they are losing, and keep providing the skeptics/climate realists (aka “deniers”) with such great material, for which we should thank Gore, MM, hansen, et al. The Warmistas are indeed their own worst enemies.

Second the motion. (Hearing aids…both ears and it still doesn’t help much with computer videos. TV is always on close-captioned).
The visuals sure take you back to the old “Monkees” shows. That bit at the end with the pointless chase in the field was classic “Monkees,” however someone pointed out above that it was typical of a Benny Hill ending. I’m thinking Benny Hill was first with that bit.

Here are the lyrics …
Thought the Earth was heatin’ up like a Foreman grill
I thought the poles were meltin’ like a fondue pot
I was a greenie weenie
I hated SUVs
I used to cringe when cows would cut the cheese.
Then I checked the facts
Now I’m a denier
We can all relax
The planet’s just fine
It was all a hoax
(Ooh …) I’m a denier, the world’s not on fire, it’s just a lie.
It turns out global warming’s just a Ponzi scheme
Seems the more lies they told the more money they got
They got Nobel prizes
And an Oscar too
Seemed like there was nothin’ we could do
Then came Climategate
Now I’m a denier
There is no debate
Or doubt in my mind
It was all a hoax
(Ooh!) I’m a denier, the world’s not on fire, it’s just a lie.
Well, all right …
(Instrumental)
They got Nobel prizes
And an Oscar too
Seemed like there was nothin’ we could do
Then came Climategate
Now I’m a denier
There is no debate
Or doubt in my mind
It was all a hoax
(Ooh!) I’m a denier, the world’s not on fire, it’s just a lie.
Then came Climategate
Now I’m a denier
There is no debate
Or doubt in my mind
I’m a denier yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah …
