One can see the true beliefs of a person thru their actions, rather than their rhetoric. Gore, like Obama, TALKS a good game, but does NOT back up his rhetoric with action. Should Gore ever have the strength of conviction his words imply, he'd stop breathing and jetting all over the world. Both are considerable CO2 producing activities!
BTW, ice-core studies (in Greenland and Antartica) show CO2 rises AFTER periods of world-wide warming trends. Warming & cooling trends have been natural occurances for hundreds of thousands of years, irregardless of human population. Is this why "Uncle Al" claims the debate is over? His rhetoric can't stand up to scientific facts. To honestly debate the merits of AGW would destroy his bid to be the first "carbon-billionaire".

Sorry, the term 'non-profit" or "not-for-profit" does not mean the corporation cannot make a profit, e.g. revenues exceed expenses. It mean that the profits that are made cannot be divided up and distributed to private shareholders or individuals, or net earnings do not benefit its members, like dividends are divided up. Also, if the said corporation is ever dissolved, all proceeds or assets must be given to other non-profits or charities. How much they pay their employees or Directors or CEOs is not regulated. Remeber the United Way of Am scandal in the early 90s and William Aramony. Big salary, penthouses, cars, etc.

One other characteristic of a non-profit is that it does not exert political influence. Hmmmm, maybe someone should contact the IRS on that one.

Maybe Gore ought to try peddling his "snake-oil" in Russia, China and India. They pollute MUCH more than the US and comprise about 1/6th of the world's population. Opps, he probably couldn't get INTO those countries, unless he swore not to rant on about his "Gore-Bull Smarming"! (AKA: Uncle Al's Carbon Credit Scam)
The US has done more to protect the environment than any other industrialized nation in the world! Why don't we wait until all the rest match our record on the environment, before ruining our economy, trying to compensate for the rest of the world?
BTW, doesn't Uncle Al STILL live in a house that uses as much energy as a small city??? (20X the average home) Wasn't it HE who demanded his fleet of Suburbans keep their motors and AC running while he was giving one of his speeches??? (We wouldn't want "the president of the planet" being inconvenienced after his speech, now would we?) Hypocracy, thy CEO is Al Gore!
An interesting description of that meeting from someone who was there:

"Went to Mizner Park where I saw Al Gore and protesters! In Boca Raton! The protesters seemed like your regular people. Funny thing, Big Al was talking and had the video going but you couldn't see any of his patrons! They had sheets of plywood erected so the groundlings were not able to rub shoulders with his "people". The whole thing was like something out of the Twilight Zone. Perhaps someday we will find out that the protesters were actually the only ones there listening to Robo-Al.

Scott"

...Sounds like so much fun. I wonder...Do they think they got their money's worth?

Look, to be honest with you I am sure that Al Gore believes in what he is toting. That is what makes him so dangerous. He is like the TV Evangelists of the 80's.

The people who believe in Global Warming, well, man caused Global Warming, have their hearts, if not their brains, in the right place. They are trying to make up for the sins that they feel so heavily on their shoulders. Along comes Gore letting them know how he can ease their burdened consciences.

It even has a good goal in mind, energy independence from the rest of the world. It just wants to do it in a stupid fashion that has no bearing in practical economics or wealth creation.

I disagree with Mr. Gore, and perhaps the way I characterize him is not very generous but it is how I feel about the situation. I do believe that he believes he is doing good. But he is wrong, and in the end the road to Hell is paved with good intentions and Gore has been driving the bus filled with the willing there as quickly as he can go. Never mind the rest of us who are trying every possible way we can to block his way from the fiery inferno, he simply ignores us and becomes more dedicated the more we try to stop him.

Please world, realize that models don't mean anything unless they work. These models have not only been wrong they have been very wrong. According to the numbers I can see Carbon is at best a red herring at worst going to cause less then a full degree of warming and that is being REALLY generous. At the same time there are so many benefits to the biosphere with increased Carbon Dioxide it is foolish of us to try to keep it from occurring in greater amounts.

Oh PS I am willing to be wrong... which is something Gore and his associates will not allow. He and his have the stance of they cannot be wrong. I believe anytime you take that stance you have moved from science to religion. If someone could honestly prove that the earth is flat, I mean prove it, then I would of course change my stance on the earth being round. Don't see it happening but I am open to changing my mind as the facts change themselves. I think that is what is truly called an open and questioning mind...

The Truth About Al Gore

Al Gore spent his whole political career working for Occidental Oil. He was supposed to be the United States Senator from Tennessee. His father was known as the Senator from Occidental. He is now in business with Goldman Sachs.

Gore does not have one honest strand of DNA in his body. Al Gore's family is linked to corrupt oilman the late Armand Hammer. Why the Vice President knows so much about Russia: tycoon Armand Hammer had the politician's father "in his back pocket".
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/al-gores-family-linked-to-corrupt-oilman-716413.html

Gore is worth $100 million.

Al Gore lies to Congress: — "Goldman who?"
http://greenhellblog.wordpress.com/2009/04/27/al-gore-lies-to-congress-part-2-goldman-who/

March 6 (Bloomberg) -- Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore left the White House seven years ago with less than $2 million in assets, including a Virginia home and the family farm in Tennessee. Now he's making enough to put $35 million in hedge funds and other private partnerships.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=a7li9Nhmhvg0&refer=home

Gore has made significant investments in "environmentally friendly" projects like carbon trading markets, solar power, biofuels, electric vehicles, sustainable fish farming and waterless toilets. He has also invested in non-climate change related investments, including putting money into Google and Apple.

Gore says it is "certainly not true" that he was going to become a "carbon billionaire" and that the suggestion came from global warming "deniers". He said: "I am proud to put my money where my mouth is for the past 30 years. And though that is not the majority of my business activities, I absolutely believe in investing in accordance with my beliefs and my values".

One company in which Al Gore invested has contracts with utilities that received a combined subsidy of $560m (£340m) from the US energy department. The New York Times points out that one company in which Gore invested, Silver Spring Networks, has contracts with utilities that last week received a combined subsidy of $560m (£340m) from the US energy department. The payments, part of a total $3.4bn handed out by the federal government to encourage the distribution of environmentally-friendly power, are likely to be handsomely recouped by Gore and his associates.

The accusation that Gore is trapped in a conflict of interest has been raised periodically over the past few years. It is a barb popular among climate change skeptics and right-wing bloggers, as well as Republican politicians. Marsha Blackburn, a congressional representative from Gore's home state of Tennessee, tackled him over the issue in April 2009 during a subcommittee debate in Congress on the Obama administration's proposed cap-in-trade system for curbing emissions.

She referred to Gore's partnership of Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, a Californian venture capital company that has put about $1bn into about 40 companies that will be bidding for contracts under the new system. One of Gore's partners at Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers is John Doerr, who advises Barack Obama on dealing with the economic downturn. "Is the legislation we are discussing here today something you are going to benefit personally from?" she asked.

Gore, audibly riled, replied that every penny he made from his investments was put back into his non-profit foundation to spread knowledge about the climate challenge. "If you believe that the reason I have been working on this issue for 30 years is because of greed, you don't know me," he said, adding: "Do you think there's something wrong with being active in business in this country? I am proud of it."

Gore is also a founder of Generation Investment Management, based in London, which has substantial interests in green technology.

But global warming skeptics are not convinced. Marc Morano of climatedepot.com said: "Al Gore wants to become the first carbon billionaire and he is poised to do it. As much as Gore's made now, it is going to be a piker league compared to what he is going to make in five years if all these new carbon trading mandates go through".

A large proportion of the world's political elites have fallen for the AGW fraud. Is there a precedence for this? Yes, they bailed out the banks without question. The same people who stand to make a fortune from a global warming tax aka "carbon trading".

And who invented carbon trading?
Ken Lay (Enron), Al Gore (Occidental Oil), and Lord Brown (BP).

Gore, along with Maurice Strong and Obama set up the privately-owned Chicago Climate Exchange, which now calls itself "North America's only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide".

There was an Oval Office meeting on August 4, 1997 with Ken Lay, Sir John Browne of BP, and the President and Vice President of the United States. Let's contemplate the full implications of such a meeting. He didn't know the guy, but that that kind of orchestration and attention takes serious influence, as revealed by Ken Lay's briefing memo of August 1, 1997, subsequently aired after some unpleasantness. In this meeting Ken Lay demanded that the Senate be ignored, that the administration agree to Kyoto, and, most importantly, that it contain a cap-and-trade scheme.

Enron officials later expressed elation at the results of the Kyoto conference. An internal memo said the Kyoto agreement, if implemented, would "do more to promote Enron's business than almost any other regulatory initiative outside of restructuring the energy and natural gas industries in Europe and the United States".

Al Gore’s family is linked to corrupt oilman the late Armand Hammer. Why the Vice President knows so much about Russia: tycoon Armand Hammer had the politician’s father “in his back pocket”.

Gore is worth $100 million.
