The real question: Is he on the side of the Wiemar Republic, or the side of the National Socialists, with the corporatism, monopoly, greed, and controlled media and ‘religion for and of the Führer’ and eliminating those who are ‘less worthy to live’?

I have to agree with you on your first point, it does not appear that Al Gore used the word Nazi in his speech. In terms of whether he was comparing the “challenge” of AGW/CC to Nazism, I’d say, not directly, but there is that implication there when one cites the political will of Churchill, just as if had cited the will of Mandela we’d all be questioning the parallels between apartheid and global warming.

How about I make you a deal on behalf of all the skeptics? If the Warmingists stop using the obviously loaded term “denier” and Hansen retracts his statement: “If we cannot stop the building of more coal-fired power plants, those coal trains will be death trains – no less gruesome than if they were boxcars headed to crematoria, loaded with uncountable irreplaceable species.”, then we will stop wondering if every WW2 reference is sick ploy by the Warmingists to use the Holocaust to try to discredit reasoned skepticism to the flimsy global warming narrative. Deal?

No I wouldn’t. The implication was clear that Gore wasn’t campaigning for a view of future climate change but was fashioning the campaign as a fight against evil. The subtext that those who opposed Gore’s message was like those who opposed Churchill was certainly not missed by the world’s press.

There are times when I give leeway to political rhetoric, but this isn’t one of them. Even the Times (until it changed the headline) didn’t miss the subtext of what Gore said.

I simply reject from whatever side it comes from, any comparisons to Nazis or complicity in those crimes when it comes to climate science. It is beyond the pale for me – I have seen too much.
