Anthony,

Congratulations on the numbers; even the adjusted ones, even Hansen and Mann adjust their numbers; must be the mark of a well run operation.

Do you archive stuff, and is there away to get it. I think your GISS/RSS/UAH/HADcrut comparison is deserving ofa n encore performance just the refresh what that was all about. aprticularly in light of the great ice melt caper, and your UHI studies, people might want to revisit that comparison chart, since all those other things are presumably a result of the big 4 activities.

Just asking.

George

I have a technical question about how visits are counted. I use the Google Reader to monitor RSS feeds. With Google Reader, I can read the content of new posts on this site without actually having to click through to here. Are the various counters smart enough to count that as a "visit" or should I come here each time to be counted?

Anthony,

If I google CLIMATE CHANGE SKEPTIC the fourth hit down is David Suzuki, then the BBC who reference Gristmill, You are now one of the top climate skeptical blogs, why are you not on the first page, google climate change or global warming and I can`t find you.
If you appeared on the first page I believe your hits would be stratospheric and many more looking for enlightenment would find you.
The third hit down is (climate change skeptic) that should be you.

REPLY: You have a point, perhaps I'll change the masthead. When I coined it, I wasn't focused as much on weather and climate as I am now. Perhaps it is time for a change so that search engines find it better.

I have blog envy.

Still-- Ditto what SteveM said. I'm sure there must be some blog equivalent of "urban heat island adjustment". Let's apply that and get your real stats. :)

Dear oh dear, adjusted numbers. You'll have the climate auditors after you...

PS shame you shut down the methane uptick thread. I was going to post an answer to the puzzle. It's on my website and has been since Feb 06.

REPLY: I'll give a try reopening it, but if it strays badly off topic again like it did yesterday, I'm going to close it again. - Anthony

Over 800,000 hits per month is impressive. We are indebted to those people, like yourself, who have the enthusiasm, knowledge, time and skills to provide background to one of the most important issues of our day. Thank you.

Well, I've been talking you up on the MSN blogs, so I hope that helps. I was so proud when they started a discussion on the MSN Money Politics site without me on how Global Warming doesn't seem to be happening. For a long time I was the lone looney. I told them, I would stay and yell loud enough and long enough until someone actually paused when they heard that the warmest month were in October and November.

Keep up the good work, guys. I'm not a scientist but I am a statistician. Garbage in, garbage out. Beware Mr.Gore! I have a mouth and I know how to use it.

Thanx for that link, Leon B. The trend is clear: RealClimate and Climate Crisis are definitely falling. WUWT is probably picking up some of the folks who don't like the fact that Al Gore's site and Gavin Schmidt's site both arbitrarily delete/censor posts that contradict their True Belief in globaloney.

Score one for honesty and fair dealing.

Still, congrats are in order.

Keep up the good work and who knows, maybe one of the big boys on the web will pick up on one of your posts and help punch up your numbers in the future.

As for right now, I see your blog stats have been moving at a good pace this month. Probably break 6 million before Thanksgiving.

Also, your numbers are looking pretty good at Alexa:

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/wattsupwiththat.com?site0=realclimate.org&site1=wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com&site2=wattsupwiththat.com&site3=climatecrisis.net&y=r&z=2&h=300&w=610&c=1&u%5B%5D=realclimate.org&u%5B%5D=wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com&u%5B%5D=wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com&u%5B%5D=climatecrisis.net&x=2008-06-07T14%3A13%3A10.000Z&check=www.alexa.com&signature=4DQ6f7l6e6EWYI8FTiVhrxCq5Fo%3D&range=1m&size=Large

Even more revealing at Alexa is the trend for your site compared to RealClimate and Gore's ClimateCrisis long downward decline:

http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/wattsupwiththat.com?site0=realclimate.org&site1=wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com&site2=wattsupwiththat.com&site3=climatecrisis.net&y=r&z=2&h=300&w=610&c=1&u%5B%5D=realclimate.org&u%5B%5D=wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com&u%5B%5D=wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com&u%5B%5D=climatecrisis.net&x=2008-06-07T14%3A13%3A10.000Z&check=www.alexa.com&signature=4DQ6f7l6e6EWYI8FTiVhrxCq5Fo%3D&range=max&size=Large
