An Inconvenient Truth – The Opera

Flamer of the Opera

La Scala to stage Gore’s ‘Inconvenient Truth’

MILAN, Italy (AP) — First it was the film and the book. Now the next stop for Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” is opera.

La Scala officials say the Italian composer Giorgio Battistelli has been commissioned to produce an opera on the international multiformat hit for the 2011 season at the Milan opera house. The composer is currently artistic director of the Arena in Verona.

Hot (Climate) Ticket? More like Gore “jumps the shark”. I think The Goracle will regret this – just like the Fonz. Check out my post.

That’s a show screaming for a rewrite, even before it’s written.
I’m thinking something with a Sheik of Arabi feel to it.

I suppose that since there is no way this can possibly be commercially viable, I’ll see it all the time on Public Television in between their begging for donations.

Come the cold
I will be happy.
With global warmists
I will be snappy.
They will cry
not I.
Their frozen tears
join the sky’s.
Sigh!
Assuming God does not thwart MY predictions. And that it does not get too cold. I guess I would rather be alive than right.

Skeptics of the world rejoice our hour of deliverance is at hand. La Scala traditionally opens on the fist Sunday in December, so we are looking an opening on December 4, 2011. The Gore Effect is a well documented phenomenon. Over at http://www.solarcycle24.com one of the SWPC predictors now believes that Cycle 24 maximum will not be reached until mid 2013 with a SSN 70±10 and the sun will not reach Solar Minimum until second quarter 2009. The opera season and winter of 2011 to 2012 should be most interesting! That can be the official start of the Gore Minimum. Something Wagnerian with a lot of ice and snow. It puts a new meaning to the old saying goes: it ain’t over ’til fat Al sings.

Ah jeez! An Italian opera about Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”!
My mother was Irish and my father was Italian, but at times like this I just say I’m Irish.

My we survive this insanity. God Bless America and down with the “Idiot’s”. Hopefully “Intelligance and Science” will prevail in the long run over them! Let’s just hope it is sooner than later.

Does “Una verità inopportuna” sound any better? It sounds like comedy in the making rather than a tragedy.
In Italy, a lot of people (including the Prime Minister) think that Al Gore is full of it.

Reading the NYTimes just now, bucko 36, I don’t think they have even heard there is any doubt whatsoever that AGW is real and a’comin’ ‘cross the mountain to git us.
Actually I find the disconnect quite disturbing.

By 2011 it will be nice to have an opera on Global Warming. It will remind us of the good old days of warmth, while we go through the descent to the next solar minimum.

Bucko36 –
Ancient Greek comments might help explain how the CO2-Carbon Credit-AGW has not been challenged by Academia.
The California Penal Code Section 26 states that “Idiots” are one of six types of people who are not capable of committing crimes. So this excuses our democratic legislators from accountability. If Academia does not stand up to Political Correctness of the worlds institutions of learning, this war is lost.
The fulfillment of ‘The Age of Enlightenment” is upon us.

Most operas end with lots of people dying.
Maybe AGW (at least) could die at the end of of this one.

Mark,
Provoked by your love of full caps, I offer the obvious villain of the plot, Don Alberto.
Now we need a heroine to stab him in the last Act. A pity he then has to sing for five minutes until silenced by death. Pavarotti, sadly, is no longer available.
Warning to anyone who fancies the first night: the arena has no roof and stone seats, and we all know the Gore effect.

Perhaps the opera will be named, “Algoretto”. The most remembered aria will of course be “Il clima e mobile”. (Apologies to Verdi)

Your site has become indispensable to me since I first ran across it, Thanks!
Confedarecy of Dunces
The incredible ignorance regarding climate change of our leading politicians and legislators of both Houses of congress constitutes an extremely serious threat to our freedom and perhaps our lives as well. I just heard Barack Obama, whom I have supported with my vote in CA, saying ..” and we’ll put a stop to global warming and here I’m using my words.. we’ll spend 250B on some coney island sausage of a misguided legislative bondoggle that will count on the fear mongering of ‘environmental heroes’ to modify everyone’s behavior.
Hillary and McCain are the same, so it seems that we’re in a real fix that is only going to get worse. Thanks again for this website and links!:]
